Y/n's POV
"Why do I have to come with you guys" My youngest complain for the one hundred time the last five minutes
"River I have told you four times. Rayna have a game and aunt Rose can't take care of you today so you have to come with us because you can't be home alone for 4 hours" I say getting annoyed
"But I'm 8" He say waving his arms around in the back seat of my car
"Exactly. To young to be home alone for that long" This got him to shut up until we arrive at the soccer field.
My oldest child out of two Rayna have a soccer game today and as her coach I need to be there. She is 13 and has been playing for 6 years now and has it's the only thing she talk about. Soccer this and soccer that. Don't get me wrong I love soccer and has done my whole life. I just can't name a single player and maybe like three teams so I don't understand what she is talking about half the time
Any way. Today they are playing a team from Alhambra which is a small city out side of LA just like Diamond Bar where we live. Rayna usually had one game a week and two trainings while River don't really do any sport. He spend a lot of time skateboarding with his friends but nothing competitive. Right now at least
When we got to the field we were the first once there which isn't a surprise. So while I go grab the balls and some cones for the warm up Rayna and River walk over to the bench where our team will have our things and where the subs will sit.
When I come back with everything a few of my players has arrived so everyone is talking while slowly getting ready. River even joins in on some conversations because most of the girls know him at this point because when my sister Rose can't take care of him he will come with us
So the other team arrives and the rest of my players. I start the warm up and then talk to the referee as well as the other teams coach and let me tell you he is a night mare. Screaming at his girls when the pass isn't perfect, rude to me because 'women shouldn't coach soccer. They can barley play it' and just an over all bitch
After I have calmed myself down just to not slap him across the face I walk back to my girls and tell them the starting 9 players. We then go through what we need to improve from our last game and then lastly we do some sprints to get ready for the game
A just a few minutes later the game has started. To no belief River is distracted by the three girls on the bench so I can have my head in the game and try to coach my team.
The other team plays rough and my girls start to get tired way to quick. So when the first of three periods ends I call all girls over.
"Okey. They aren't playing any pretty soccer and that is something we need to take advantage of. They usually don't look at the ball so we need to get the ball moving and not try to dribble the players. We need to pass around them so that they have to run. Okey?" All the girls nod and they seam to have gotten what I said
"Good. Now I want Olivia to come off so that Sofia can come in at eight back while also Alexandra goes off and Roma go on. You get to rest a few more minutes before I put you in" I say looking at Nessa who is the third sub. She just nod before we huddle up and 9 of my 12 girls walk onto the field again
The second period pass by like a.....I don't know I was trying to be poetic. It went well any way. We turned the 0-2 loss into a 4-2 lead and now we just need to keep this going into the third and last period
I don't have anything to tell the girls so I just let them drink their water before walking back into the field as the game start up for the last 20 minutes
But it doesn't take long until River walk over and pull my shirt making me turn to him
"This is boring. I want to go home" I say giving me a sad face
"We will be home in less then an hour. Okey? But you can walk around the field just don't go on the field and don't walk out of the gates. Okey buddy" I give me a quick nod before running down the side line and I look back at the game
Allie's POV
Me, Alex and Kelley is at some middle school game because Alex thought it would be so fun since she is from here. And let me tell you. Just on the way from the car to our seats she met about ten people she knew from when she was younger
Any way. When we made it to our seats the first period had already started with the wrong team taking the lead
Tho in the second period it turned around and when the referee blew her whistle I was so ready to leave but Alex pulled me down again
"What. The game is over"
"No it's not. These kids play with three periods" She say. And she was right. Just a few minutes later both teams are back on the field and the play starts again
After about 10 minutes into the half a small boy. Well he isn't that small around 7 I would think walk up to us
"You really pretty" He say pointing at Alex. This makes all of us chuckle as Alex look at the boy
"Well that's very nice of you to say. What's your name" She say going the boy a smile
"River" He answers. "And my sister is playing and it so boring. I just want to go home with mommy so that she can make pancakes" He say looking at the field
"Well nice to met you River. I'm Alex and these are my friends Kelley and Allie" For the first time he turns to us and wave shyly
"Where is your mommy" Alex then ask which makes the boy turn around and pint to the other side of the pitch
"There"
"Coaching the team" Alex then ask which he responds to by nodding
"Mommy's name y/n. She help me and my sister with homework because dad not around anymore" He say getting a little sad at the end. Alex then pick him up and sit him down in her lap
"Why isn't your dad around any more" She ask stroking his head
"He left long ago. I don't remember him but mommy seams to be lonely sometimes and she never have a special friend like aunt Rose" He then turn around to look at Alex. "You be mommy's special friend" He ask looking at Alex with hope
"You want me to be your mommy's special friend?"
"Yea. So mommy can be happy again. She would like someone as pretty as you" When a small blush can be seen on Alex cheeks both me and Kelley laugh
"I will talk to you mommy later and we can see what she say" He just nod as he turn back and look at the game still sitting in Alex lap which neither of them seam to mind. Alex is so good with kids it's crazy
Soon the game ended and people start to leave. When River realize this he jump down from Alex lap and takes her hand and starts to drag her around the field. Both me and Kelley just follow a few meters behind
He stops about fifteen meters from the girls and his mom before letting go of Alex's hand. "Be back soon" He say before walking over to his mom
"Mommy I got you a special friend" He say with a really high pitch voice
"Lord help me" She say before turning to him. "We have talked about this River"
"But please mommy. She's really pretty and you need to be happy again" He say grabbing her hand
The frown on her face is hard to miss. Probably because her son thinks she isn't happy but she give in and let him drag her over to us and when she look up she stop in her tracks but River seam to not notice
"Mommy this is Alex. Alex this is mommy" He say proudly
"Alex Morgan" Alex say as she put her hand out
"Y/n Lavelle" She say still in shock. She soon realize it and compose herself. "I'm sorry for my son he can b..."
"It's nothing" Alex cut her off. "And I wouldn't mind taking you out if you would let me" Alex say going her a flirty look
"I wouldn't say no to a pretty lady like you" She then answer. The girls seam to got some games. They then switch phone numbers before
Y/n's POV
That was one mouth ago and we have been on multiple dates since. Tonight we had a nice dinner and then went for a walk alone the beach where she officially asked me to be her girlfriend
And well now we plan one telling my kids. So right now we are in her Range Rover and have just parked in my drive way. We both get out of the car and I unlock the door
"I AM HOME" I shout as I walk into the door and soon into the kitchen leavening Alex in the hall so she can enter the kitchen when I say. I find the kids eating and River is about to go to sleep so I sit down in front of them both before I speak up
"So I have someone I want you guys to met" I say and this makes both of their head shoot up
"Have you finally met someone?" Rayna ask half joking
"Well yea actually"
"Wait really" My sister Rose say who is home now because she has her of season
"Well if y'all calm down I will introduce you guys" I get up and walk back to the hall grabbing Alex's hand before walking back to the kitchen
"So this is...." I don't get to finish my sentence before all three of the other people interrupt
"Alex!!!!" River scream as he crash into Alex's legs
"Alex?" Rose say looking at both of us confused
"Alex Morgan" Rayna say before freezing in her place
