"I never knew you to be a quitter." Seulgi answers, "The Joohyun I know has always been a fighter, even when pushed against a wall."
"You want me to try even though it's a losing battle?"
"You won't know you've lost unless you tried Hyun, I mean you said it yourself..you lov.."
"Like." Irene interrupts.
"Okay fine, like her..so why not try a little harder? I mean you're already married, that gives you a big advantage don't you think?"
"I guess..."
"Okay good. Now finish up and head home. I'm sure Jennie's waiting." Seulgi smiles, glad to see the smile return on Irene's face.
Maybe I should have taken my own advice.

"Jen?" Irene calls out after her dinner with Seulgi.
"In here!" Jennie calls out from the living room, "Hey." Irene smiles.
"Hey..you're home early." Jennie looks at her wife with a soft smile, "Did you have dinner yet?"
"Yeah, I had dinner with Seul." Irene replies, taking the spot next to her wife on the couch,
"What are you watching?"
"Oh uhm Money Heist." Jennie replies not used to the small talk.
"Is it good?" Irene asks.
"It's really good Rosie and I started it together, but since she..." Jennie trails off, "You should watch it when you get the chance."
"Do you miss her?" Irene asks.
"Hmm?"
"Chaeyoung..do you miss her?" Irene asks again.
"She called me today." Jennie suddenly says, ignoring her wife's question, "for the first time in one year..I spoke to her."
"I see...what did she say?"
"She just asked how I was doing."
"Wait, you said for the first time in one year..so since she left you guys never kept in touch?" Irene asked, surprised.
"Rosie said she needed to learn not to look at me anymore." Jennie replies in a small voice, eyes cast down, "And I guess it only took a year for her to do that." Jennie lifts her head up with a smile that didn't reach her eyes and Irene didn't know what to do.
A silence drapes over the married couple. One engrossed in her thoughts about a certain blonde and the other trying to find a solution to all of this.
"Jennie." Irene finally speaks up.
"Hmm?"
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"What made you agree to this marriage?"
"Can I be honest?" Jennie asks and Irene nods, an encouraging smile on her face.
"You know my feelings towards you right?"
"I uhm.." Irene becomes flustered.
"It's okay Rene, I know you don't feel the same way." Jennie laughs seeing how flustered she made the older woman, "in the beginning it was a small crush..nothing too much you know, but with Rosie always pushing me towards you..I just kinda found myself watching you more and that's how my feelings grew."
"Is that really it? You agreed because of a crush?" Irene pressed, "Because you should see the way she.."
"I know." Jennie interrupts, "I found out about her feelings the night before the wedding and I kept that to myself too scared to know what would happen if she found out...but in the end she still left. I hurt her too much didn't I?"
"If you know then..." Irene takes a breath, "why did you still go through the wedding?"
Jennie blinks a few times, "Because I did love you Rene, that's why..but I know now that the person in your heart will never be me and I've learned to accept that."
"But did you really love me? I mean you said it yourself, Chaeyoung kept pushing you towards me and that's what made you look at me." Irene watches Jennie's reaction carefully, seeing how the girl visibly tensed, "Did you really ever want to look at me in the first place? Or did you because you thought that she was pushing you towards me because you thought she didn't feel the same?"
Jennie looks at her wife, studying the older woman while trying to think of an answer to her questions. Trying to decide her own truth.
"You know you really are beautiful Rene." Jennie says instead.
Irene clears her throat, a blush on her face, "I..that wasn't the answer I was looking for, but thank you."
"Goodnight." Jennie excuses herself and Irene lets her go, knowing that Jennie probably doesn't have an answer to her question.
"Night." Irene whispers, wondering if things would be different if she followed her heart earlier on.

-Jennie's POV-
"Because she was pushing you towards me because you thought she didn't feel the same?"
Irene's words kept repeating in my head.
"I need a breather," I sigh, getting up and out of bed, careful not to wake Irene.
"It's really pretty here." I smile, staring at the city's skyline, I rarely come out to our spot alone..and when I do she would usually show up a few minutes later, but I know that this time she won't pop out of nowhere with her stupid goofy smile asking me why I'm out here.
-flashback-
"Rosie..no."
"C'mon Jen...you said you like her. We're just going to say hi."
"But but but" I protested.
"You gotta shoot our shot Jen." Rosie smiles at me, calling Irene over before I can get another word out.
"Uhm hi." Irene looks at me and Rosie with a raised brow.
"Hey..uhm Irene right? I'm Roseanne Park and this is Jennie Kim."
"I've seen you guys around." Irene nods.
"Right..so we're just wondering if you'd want to have lunch with us."
"Oh well..I mean that's very nice bu.."
"Great! Let's go!" Rosie smiles, grabbing Irene's hand with her free hand dragging her with us to one of her family's cafes.

"Sooooo~" Rosie smiles at me teasingly.
"So what?" I ignore her, focused on the textbook in front of me.
"How was the dinner?" Rosie nudges me, wiggling her eyebrows teasingly.
"Just sit and study Rosie." I glare at her.
"Tch mean...you finally get to go to dinner with your cru.."
"Yeah after you ditched me last second, where were you anyways? What was so important?" I cut her off.
"Nothing..I just wanted to give you a chance to spend time with her."
"Rosie..it's just a crush, admiration. I don't think it'll be that deep."
"Mhm sure." Rosie says, while trying to balance her pen on her nose.
"Can you.." I sigh, "Never mind."

"What are these for?" I ask, smelling the flowers Rosie handed me, trying to fight the butterflies from erupting in my stomach.
"I heard Irene loves receiving flowers. Thought you can surprise her with these."
"Oh." My mood turns sour, "When was the last time you gave me flowers just cause?" I unconsciously ask out loud.
"Uh..I.." Rosie began to turn red, "Oh look there she is." She turns me around and pushes me towards Irene, "Go get her tiger."
"Yeah.." I just agree, willing myself not to turn around.
"Roseanne!" I hear someone call for Rosie.
"I guess this is for the best." I whisper to myself, clutching the flowers tightly in my hands and trying my best to have a genuine smile as I walk towards Irene.
-End Flashback-
"Maybe it's really been you all this time." I hug my knees to my chest.
"I miss you Rosie."

"Jennie..are you okay?"
"Oh Jisoo when did you get here?" I turned my head, surprised to see her.
"Irene called us, she's worried because you weren't home." Jisoo took a seat next to me on the ground.
"Wow...it really is pretty here." She says.
"How did you know about this place?"
"Rosie told me about it." Jisoo looks at me, "Before she left."
"She did?"
"Mhm...she says in case you ever disappear to check here. Who knew it'll actually happen." Jisoo chuckles a bit, "Now..the question is, why'd you run off here for and at almost.." she checks her phone, "2am?"
"It's that late already?" I ignore her question, getting up and dusting the dirt off my pants.
"Jennie." Jisoo follows my lead, grabbing me by the wrist to stop me from leaving.
"What happened?"
"Nothing."
"It's not nothing. So tell me now, because you know I won't let you off."
Of course, when she wants to, Jisoo could be even more stubborn than me. So I stared at her..thinking of the best way to not only admit this to her, but out loud to myself.
"Jennie?" Jisoo gives my hand a gentle squeeze.
"Jisoo..." I return the squeeze, trying to gather my thoughts, "I...you were right." I say with a smile.
"About?"
"I love her."
Jisoo gives me a questioning look.
"Rosie...I love her.."
