I pulled out the file to make sure my memory served me right, and it does.
I had to set it aside and email Zittire what I need him to do, but now I'm back looking through the file. Specifically for a phone number.
I've always been cautious when it comes to mafia leaders because of the power they hold and how far they can take things. That's why it helps to have a lot of detailed information about them, most of the time.
However when you're looking for 9 consecutive numbers out of at least 50 pages, it can be fairly annoying.
I get to the 12th page when I find it and I immediately write it down.
I then push it aside and start to hack into the security cameras in the building.
It takes me five minutes, but I end up getting the live feed to each and every one of his cameras.
I then go back to the phone number and dial it, pressing the phone to my ear while is rings.
I lean back in my chair, watching Cyrus converse with two other guys who look to be the same age as him, none of them paying attention to the ringing phone.
The line then beeps and tells me to leave a message.
"Cyrus Jay Conners, I've heard of you before but now I'm interested in having a meeting with you. I know you're listening to this right now, and from your face, you don't seem pleased. Pick up the phone and we can talk" I say, watching all three of the guys look at the phone
He then reaches over and puts it on speaker.
"Good boy, I would also like to know who your friends are" I say
"Morgan Belmore and Race Killian. Now who wants to know?" He asks
"Regina Della Morte" I say and watch as all of their expressions turn confused
"What do you want and what does it have to do with me?" He asks
"I don't necessarily want anything, except a truce between us. I don't want my family getting hurt in the crossfire if someone decides to be a dick" I answer
"That can be arranged. Now what are you to give me in return?" He asks
"I have nothing to give you at all, just a chance for you to have something. Now please hold while I go make sure of something" I say putting the call on hold and walking out of the room, going to find Lina
When I do she's in the room Juli stayed in this morning.
"Sorry to interrupt you two, but I have a question for you Lina" I say leaning on the doorframe of the room
"What is it?" She asks
"If I can get in contact with Cyrus, would you like him back in your life?" I ask
She looks at me with shock, disbelief, and even a slight bit of confusion.
"Are you serious?" She asks
"I would never lie to you about something like this" I respond truthfully
"Yes of course" she beams and comes to hug me
"Are you sure?" I ask and she pulls away from hugging me
"Even if he didn't want me anymore he still deserves to know his daughter. So yes, I am very sure" she says and I nod
"I'll tell you when something happens" I say and she nods
I then spare a glance at Juli before walking out of the room.
I get back to my office and sit back down, picking up the phone and taking it off hold.
"Sorry for the wait gentlemen, where were we?" I ask
"You went to go make sure of something. What was it?" Cyrus asks
"None of your concern yet. What is however, your family" I respond and he laughs
"My parents are dead" he replies
"Not them. I'm talking about Rosalina" I say and watch the screen for his reaction
His friends seem worried while his face is just emotionless.
"Hurt her and consider yourself dead" Race says, being the first one to break the silence
"I have no intention of hurting her, provided you meet me at the location I'm sending you now" I say, bluffing of course, and emailing him the location of a deserted building about 50 miles from here
"If she's hurt in any way, shape, or form, consider your family dead" Cyrus says, his voice probably as cold as mine when someone i love gets threatened
"I'll consider your threat Conners. Until then, better start driving" I say before hanging up
I know I may sound annoying when I'm talking to him, and that's totally correct.
Cyrus is practically my little brother. I spent a lot of time with him whenever he would come with Sage and their parents to Italy. The only thing keeping him from recognizing my voice is the voice changer I have on for most numbers.
I put the phone back down before grabbing my personal cell from my desk drawer.
I press a certain contact and it starts to ring.
"When are you coming back?" Sage asks immediately when he answers
"Not for a while, why?" I ask
"They're trying to fucking kill me!" He yells making me laugh
"Who Sage?" I ask
"Alex's kids. They say they just want to play but they keep chasing me around with sharpened sticks!" He yells again making me laugh even more
"Calm down Sage, you'll be leaving soon enough. I need you to meet me somewhere" I tell him
"Oh thank god. Text me the address" he says, letting out a heavy sigh
"Will do" I say before hanging up
I send him the address and set my phone down on the desk before going back to my sketches yet again.

3 hours later, I'm now in said building waiting for both Conners as well as Morgan and Race.
I parked my car in the building and now I'm leaning on the hood of it.
I look at my watch just as I hear the engine of Sage's car.
I look up to see him park next to me and get out.
"Took you long enough" I say
"You try weaving your way through a crowded highway at 120 while cops are chasing" he says and I give him a pointed look
"Don't respond to that" he then adds
"So why am I here exactly?" He asks just as my phone starts ringing
"Give me a sec on that" I tell him while answering the call
"Yes Juli?"
"Hey, I was just wondering where you went" she says
"One of my possible new apartment buildings, I'm meeting someone" I tell her
"Does this someone happen to be related to Sage?" She asks
"Possibly" I answer
"Kind of figured. I also asked Lina if she was fine with you telling him about Jay and she said she was" she tells me
"Ok. What's she doing now?" I ask
"Her and Jay are both sleeping. Apparently they didn't get much sleep these past few months" she says
"Alright. Call me if anything happens" I say
"Always" she says before hanging up
I then turn to Sage, putting my phone back in the pocket it was once in.
"Long story short, i found Lina, she has a daughter, and she's back at my house. This has to do with you because of a certain reason. A certain person to be more specific" I tell him
"And this certain person is?" He asks just before a deep rumble of a car engine echos through the building
"See for yourself"
I know its not exactly great but I felt like updating and I want to go to sleep. So I compromised. Anyway, continue.
