Okay so here we go! I think we only have one or two more till we start the three-tails arc :)
Also there will be a second note explaining a few things that happen in this chapter.

Kakashi
**Vision**
The dark chakra was over powering. It had sent chills down my spine the moment Rin touched my back. I wasn't evern sure what followed, if it had worked.
"It did work" I turned but there was no one. The voice that had spoken was deep, raspy and echoed against invisble walls.
"Normally such mediocre Shinobi don't wake me, but I was curious as to who Rin could channel her dark chakra through without it corrupting them." I tried to follow the voice but everytime I seemed to face it, it was already somewhere else.
"Now it all makes sense."
"What does?"
"Why the darkness does not corrupt you" He replied.
"This child really does have many interesting ties. I haven't had this much fun in millenia" He seemed to muse.
"So I'm not dead?" I asked and he chuckled again.
"I'd hate to see what that child would unleash if you were."
"Excuse me?"
"Even the light in darkness needs one of her own."
"One of..."
"She has no idea what you're worth."
"What I'm..."
"I suggest you do your best not to die Kakashi Hatake."
"Wait!"
**End Vision**
I snapped up taking a deep breath as the suddeness of my movement took the world briefly out of focus. I had to blink a few times and looked down at my hand. What was left of the dark chakra seemed to stain my palm before fading. I looked at Rin who was holding her head as Shikamaru helped her sit up. I looked towards Kakuzu, Hidan had his scythe out stopping him from an attack and I realized Hidan's eyes were on Rin. It wasn't concern, it was familiarity. Like this had, had happened before.
"Kakashi" I looked back at Rin.
"Are you okay?" I nodded.
"Yeah, it uh just wasn't what I expected" I replied as I got back to my feet. I wanted to ask or even mention what I had seen but Rin showed no signs of seeing the same thing. She just seemed confused and unfourtantly the midst of the battle wasn't exactly the best place for a talk.
"I'll admit that was very impressive Rin, Kakashi" I glanced at Hidan as I offered a hand to Rin.
"You are two of the first people to ever survive our combo attack" He continued as I pulled Rin to her feet.
"You saw through my jutsu with the Sharingan but what about this!" Rin pushed me behind her as she released a slow breath.
"I've got this."
"Fire Release: Searing migraine!" The flames shot forward and for a moment I was readying to avoid it. That was until Rin put a foot back. I felt a chill down my spine as she faced the flames, she didn't even flinch when they doubled in size. She just released a slow breath, her focus completely on the coming threat.
"Amaterasu" I heard her, perfectly clear and watched as the black flames erupted. The black flames grew and I felt the heat from the blast as the two flames met. It seemed equally matched but the Amaterasu slowly took over the regular flame. I pulled a kunai just as Hidan broke through the smoke and blocked his scythe before he hit Rin. I turned slamming my foot into his chest sending him back a few paces.
"I've got Hidan, keep on Kakuzu"
"Got it!"
Shikamaru
The black flames had begun to fade and I noticed Rin holding a hand over her eyes. Hidan seemed to back track as he noticed Rin's guard drop. I was about to shout at her to move until she whistled loudly and tossed a kunai forward. A second Kunai knocked it off course and Rin jumped back just as Hidan's scythe slammed into the ground where she had just been. Rin threw another kunai and I realized the second had come from Kakashi, as he threw it knocking Rin's off course. I heard a whistle from him and Rin pulled her katana as she ran forward. Hidan managed to raise his scythe and I heard Kakashi whistle again. The pitch of the whistle changed and Rin ducked as Hidan swung his scythe, just missing her. She sprung up and Kakashi caught her waist before retreating back to us.
"Can you see?" He asked as he set Rin on her feet. I realized then Rin had her eyes closed the entire time. Blood was dripping down her cheeks and she cringed when she finally opened them.
"Y-Yeah the sun just stings a little"
"Wait so the kunai and the whistling were so Rin could fight blind?" I asked and could hear the amazement in my own voice.
"Rin and I developed this skill years ago. The Amaterasu is hard on the eyes, something we discovered after she used it against Gaara. It takes recouperation time that isn't available in the midst of battle, so to insure Rin wouldn't become helpless after using it we made a way that she could still fight even blinded." Kakashi explained. It was impressive I had to admit. They worked flawlessly together, even years later.
"Why isn't he dead? That was a direct hit with Kakashi-Sensei's chidori" Choji sounded frustrated and all I had was theory.
"A direct hit to one heart" Rin corrected.
"One heart?" Jazmine asked and Rin nodded as she finally managed to open her eyes fully.
"I already explained to Kakashi that he has five, we killed one leaving four including his."
"So we need to destroy each one to end him permanantly?" Ino asked and Rin nodded.
"Each heart is from a shinobi I have faced in battle and they can easily be replesnished by yours." Kakuzu threatened. That was another problem.
"So I have to ask, do you leaf ninja burry your dead? Cause it'll be a real hassle if you do, knowing Kakuzu he'll really want to go digging for that cash-cow of his"
"Grave robbing does seem more your speed Grandpa" Rin taunted.
"Shut the hell up!" He shouted.
"I mean it was already a downer, that guy with the beard went down like it was nothing. Where the hell is the fun in that?"
"Big talk from the one who got his head chopped off" Kakuzu reminded and I heard Rin snicker.
"He has a point."
"C'mon Kakuzu don't side with the Uchiha bitch" Hidan shouted at him.
"So anways, I know you're looking for revenge but I think you're out of your league here" He continued and put his scythe over his shoulder.
"You four are just pups; you must have been his students then huh? With a loser like that guy teacing ya, you're pretty much screwed"
"Don't insult Asuma-Sensei!" I reached for Choji when he tried to lurch forward.
"The loving bond between teacher and student, careful or you might turn into those two" I noticed Rin and kakashi glance at each other before Rin shot a glare at Hidan.
"Go to hell Hidan" Hidan laughed.
"Just having a little fun Rin, anyways you can't be all bent out of shape for that chump" He continued turning his attention back to Choji.
"Hey Fatso" I cursed as Choji ran forward. I slammed my hands together and my shadow stretched towards him stopping him inches from Hidan as his swing fell short.
"Kakashi" Rin said as her eyes returned to a blazing red.
"On my lead" He replied and they darted forward. Kakashi jumped over Choji blocking the initial attack while Rin slid between choji's legs and moved into a handstand kicking Hidan upwards.
"You moron don't let him egg you on like that!" I shouted as I released the jutsu.
"S-Sorry" Kakuzu was in front of Choji in seconds and Choji barely got to his feet on time. He took a swing but it didn't even make a dent as Kakuzu blocked it. He slid back a few steps but landed a hit of his own sending Choji flying into a tree.
"Rin!" I shouted and she tried to jump towards us only to be blocked by one of his creatures. Kakuzu chuckled darkly.
"Looks like I'm all yours" I felt Jazmine pull me back as we barely avoided the lightning.
"Rin and Kakashi are a little busy and by the looks of it they're trying to keep them separated" Jazmine explained quickly. I caught her wrist and pulled her along as the lightning mask chased after us. I looked towards the trees where kakashi fought Hidan while Rin was trying to dodge the attacks from the fire and wind masks.
"Shikamaru we need to do something now!" Jazmine shouted. Kakzuzu had managed to get both Ino and Choji and we still had the lightning on our tail.
"Jazmine I need some water!"
"On it!" She shouted and jumped apart from me as I took the attention of the creature.
"Water Release; hidden waters jutsu!" I managed to get back to Jazmine as she slammed her hands on the ground, when she rose water followed covering the ground. Jazminw quickly started a second set of handsigns and grabbed my waist.
"Wood Release: Wood locking wall!" The Wall formed seconds before the lightning hit the water. I heard the wood cracking under the heat and Jazmine let go of my waist the second the lighting died down. She let down the wall and shoved me forward.
"Go!" She urged. I threw a Kunai and Kakuzu was forced to let go of Ino and Choji to block it. I did a hand sign and the explosive not erupted. I ran into the smoke and took Ino; Kakashi grabbed Choji before we retreated back to Jazmine. Rin now stood beside her and I noticed a burn mark on her arm.
"Wood Release?" Rin asked and Jazmine grinned.
"Orochimaru kidnapped me too" She reminded. It was true; when they were young they had both been taken. While the wood release only showed minimal progress in her, it became noticeable enough that Captain Yamato had taken Jazmine under his wing.
"Are you two okay?" Jazmine asked as Ino rubbed her neck.
"For the most part yeah" She replied. Jazmine moved to Choji giving him a closer check up.
"Now that Kakzuzu knows you're capable of wood release be careful, he'll want your heart to replace the one he lost" Rin warned and Jazmine nodded.
"Hey, he'll have to kill me first" Rin smirked slightly before stepping forward to stand with kakashi and I.
"What's the plan Shikamaru?" Rin asked and I sighed as I looked towards our opponent.
"We need to separate them and attack individually. Once their combo attacks are off the table we can focus on taking out the big guy's four hearts." I explained.
"That would mean someone would have to keep Hidan busy." Kakashi pointed out.
"I'll do it" We glanced at Ino.
"Look out of the five of us I have the most chakra left. I'm not good in a straight up fight anyways and with my mind transfer jutsu..."
"Forget it, it's too dangerous. Your mind transfer should always follow after my shadow possession. If you miss you can't get back to your body for a few minutes" I objected and Ino sighed. I looked towards Hidan, there was only one of us that could be spared to take him alone and have a chance of survival.
"I'll do it"
**Authors Note 2:
Okay so yes Jazmine has Wood Release. This isn't random it's literally been in the works since Book 1 I just didn't have the chance to introduce it.
If you remember in Book 1 Jazmine was also kidnapped by the Akatuski along with Rin. Jazmine on the other hand was experimented on. Well this is the results.
I also mention in Book 2 that Orochimaru was seeing if what he did had any effects on Jazmine which Kabuto reported that there was no signs yet.
The first time it shows in any signs is in the Rin and Jazmine's fight in the Chunin exams. Also since we are following Rin more then I didn't have the chance to show Jazmine's training with Captain Yamato.
But yeah that's all been going on behind the scenes haha
