*Yami's P.O.V*
I looked over to Iris as the credits started to roll. She was looking at the floor, slowly petting Sasha.
"Is something bothering you?" She looked up at me, through the mess of white fur, I could see she was crying. Without a word from both of us, I got up and sat beside her, pulled her into me.
"I know we don't know each other very well Iris, but you can tell me what is bothering you. I do not judge someone for sharing their feelings with me. I really would like to know you on a deeper level. Do not be scared."
*Iris's P.O.V*
The baritone voice filled my heart up with a warm feeling. The only thing I could do was cry.
The movie had triggered a memory from my past, it always hurt me. My soul just ached and all I could do was cry and find comfort in the arms of a stranger.
"Iris, if you don't want to tell me, it's okay. I'll be here till you want me to leave." I started to shake my head no.
"Yami, it's about time I told someone. I don't really have friends. And no one has understood me since this happened." I could feel Yami take a deep breath in.
"I was 15 at the time, I thought I had the most perfect life, with what little I actually had. My mother was around still at the time, she had left me on my 16th birthday. Happy effing sweet 16 to me! Ha... Anyways, I was in a relationship. We had gotten very close, very fast. We got so close, that I ended up getting pregnant.... I was so young at the time..., I didn't want to be told I was exactly like my mother. So, I ended up giving the baby up for adoption... It was the only thing that I wanted to do. But after that was said and done with, our relationship seemed to get stronger... But... About 2 years later, there... was a-an accident. Josh was-as snowmobiling on a closed trail and he... just... lost control...."
I couldn't even speak past that point. I buried my face into Yami's chest.
"I understand." That baritone voice knew the right words to say to me at that very time.
Yami slowly laid down on the couch. I was snuggled into his chest, his grip was so tight that I was surprised I could breathe. "Yam...Yami?" I looked up at him.
"Yes Iris?"
"Thank-you."
We were just looking into each other eyes. He leaned down and kissed me on the forehead.
"Like I said earlier. We may not know each other, but I want to know you. Opening up is the first part of moving on."
I nodded my head and buried it back into his chest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up the next morning. Sasha licking me in the face.
"Urg, bug off Sasha! It's Saturday morning. I don't have to work!"
She barked at me. I opened up one eye to watch her walk away. "
What the eff. I'm in the living room. Jeez, must have had too much last night and I don't remember."
I yawned and slowly started to stretch. But two warm hands on my back made me freeze mid-stretch.
I looked up to see who the pair of hands belonged to. It was Yami. I could feel my face get warmer and warmer by the second. Then I slowly started to remember what happened last night. "
This man has already broken down a wall that I spent much time building up. There is something different about him."
I laid there with my head turned up looked at him as he slept. He looked so peaceful.
I noticed his breathing started to change and his eyes slowly started to open. I put my head back down on his chest and pretended to be asleep still. I could hear him yawn and then gasp. His grip got tight. He shifted me into his arms and I felt myself slowly being lifted up. I could hear Sasha bark from the hallway.
"Ssh Sasha. Don't wake up Iris." I was slowly put back down onto the couch and a blanket was laid on top of me.
"Come one girl, let's take you outside." Sasha barked.
I couldn't help but smile.
"This man is so different. He reminds me of Josh." From that simple thought, my heart skipped a beat. I can't be falling for someone this fast, not again.
*Yami's P.O.V*
I was standing outside on the patio watching Sasha run around. I smiled to myself, thinking about last night.
Just then my heart skipped a beat. "This woman. She is making me act so different. I really like this feeling though. I just can't wait to get to know her."
I smiled at my thoughts and walked back inside with Sasha. I went to check up on Iris and she was still sleeping on the couch.
I figured I'd try my hand at this cooking thing. "I've seen Yugi do it many times, why can't I?"
I looked down at Sasha, she just looked back up at me. She seemed to know what I was thinking and walked into the kitchen.
"Sasha, where is your food? I bet you're hungry." The dog led me to a smoked glass door. It had 'Pantry' written in clear glass in the middle. She stopped and sat down in front of it. I opened the door and walked inside. A light turned on by itself. I looked around for a bit and saw a big bin on the right side of the door that had 'Dog Food' written on it. As I turned around to find her bowl, she was sitting there with it in her mouth.
"Well, aren't you just a smart dog." I patted her head and grabbed the bowl. After putting some food in her bowl and putting it on the floor, I turned back to the pantry.
'Hmm... Pancakes are not that hard to make. And I do have a craving for something sweet for once in my life. Chocolate chip pancakes it is!' I grabbed the pancake mix and a bag of chocolate chips sitting beside it. I closed the door behind me as I walked out into the kitchen.
After looking around in the cabinets, I finally found everything that I believe I needed to make the pancakes. "This is going to end up really bad!"
*Iris's P.O.V*
I could hear the sound of dishes coming from the kitchen. I smiled as I could smell the sweetness of chocolate. I looked down at my phone that was laying on the ground, 8:30 am. "
Jeez, why am I awake at this hour?"
Then it clicked in my head, "Who the hell is making breakfast?"
I jumped off of the couch and walked to the entrance of the kitchen and peeked inside. I giggled at the sight.
Yami was standing in front of the stove with Sasha by his feet. He was covered, head to toe, in pancake mix. The floor was a white mess. Sasha was trying to licking it up.
I could see what looked like ever dish I owned on the counter tops. I guess I giggled louder than I thought, because Yami turned around to find the source of the giggle. He must of forget Sasha was by his feet, because he went face first on the floor.
I couldn't hold myself up anymore. I was on the ground laughing at him.
"It's not funny! I never cook. I watch Yugi all the time, and I remembered how to make pancakes!"
I looked look across the floor at Yami. He was sitting on my knees looking at me. I smiled, got up and walked towards him.
"Need help getting up?" He nodded his head yes. The minute I put my hand out, I was being pulled down on top of him. I looked up at Yami and he had a deep red dusted on his cheek bones.
"I'm sor...sorry. I slipped." I looked up at him and just smiled, "It's okay."
We both slowing got up off of the floor.
"I'll help you Yami. I'll finish cooking if you grab a broom and mop." He nodded his head yes.
"They are in the cardboard beside the pantry." He slowly walked over to avoid slipping again.
Once the pancakes were done cooking, Yami had taken a break from cleaning the floor to sit at the island with me to eat some breakfast.
"Thank-you Yami." I was looking at my pancakes as I talked to him.
"Iris, don't thank me. You needed to get it out. A person can only keep things bottled up before so long." I nodded my head at him. I sighed as I picked up my plate and put it in the sink. I turned around and rested my butt on the edge of the sink.
"Yami, your covered in pancake mix. Did you want to take a shower and I can run your clothes through the wash fast?" I could see a light shade of pink appear on his face.
"Urg... su...sure."
"Okay, just follow me."
We left the kitchen and started up the stairs. I pointed to the first door on the left.
"This is the bathroom. There is a basket on the second shelf label 'Guest'. There is a laundry shoot beside the shelves. Just throw your clothes down there and I'll throw them in the wash for you."
He nodded his head and walked inside the bathroom. I walked down the hallway to my bedroom. I changed fast and threw my hair up in a ponytail. I was wearing dark blue jeans and a grey tank top.
I walked down the hallway and back downstairs. The laundry room was a walk in closet beside the kitchen. I grabbed Yami's clothes, blushing as I did so. I threw them in on a fast cycle and went back to cleaning the kitchen.
After I finally got the floor clean, I heard the shower shut off and the chime on the washer go off. I ran to change it over so that Yami wasn't stuck in the bathroom for very long.
I yelled up the stairs, "Everything is just in the dryer. Give it like 15 minutes!"
"Thank-you Iris!"
I smiled as I walked back to the kitchen to do the dishes, but I was interrupted by the doorbell going off.
"Oh shit, it'll be the group. Yami is upstairs naked and my kitchen looks like a bomb went off, this isn't going to be explained very easy." I grabbed my phone out of my pocket to check the time, 10:30 am.
I sighed as I walked towards the door. I opened it up to be greeted by Joey's goofy grin. "Soooooo.... What did ya' and Yami doooo?" His thick Brooklynn accent dragged the words very good.
"Nothing, what would you like Joey?"
"We came to find out what to do on a beautiful Saturday afternoon!" Yugi poked his head around Joey. "
Poor kid, always has someone taller in front of him!"
"Well, we could go to the lake?"
"Iris?" I felt my face go a deep red at the baritone voice that said my name behind me. I slowly looked behind me to see Yami standing in the hallway by the stairs, in nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist.
"And you are trying to tell me nothing happene' ?" Joey looked at me. I could see Yami's face go just as dark as mine.
"Uhh... I'll grab your clothes in a second Yami."
I turned back and looked at Yugi, "Yugi, can you come here please?" He nodded his head and walked into the door.
Before Joey could follow him, I slammed the door. I could hear him talking to himself on the other side of the door. I turned around to look at Yugi. "I need you to do me the biggest favour in the world right now." He nodded his head yes.
"Follow me." I walked towards the washer and dryer in the hallway. I walked in to grab Yami's clothes and handed them to Yugi. "Can you bring these to Yami? He is upstairs, first door on the left." Yugi just smiled at me and walked away.
I sighed as I watched Yugi walk away. I heard a knock on the bathroom door and then a slam followed by some loud talking. I giggled to myself and walked back to the front door.
I opened it to see Joey sitting on the steps, talking to himself. I firgured this would be one of rare times that I could get him alone. I jumped at the chance to get the two lover boys together.
"Joey, I got a question for you." He jumped at the sound of my voice. He stood up and turned around to me. "Shoot."
"Do you like Seto?" I watched as his cheeks turned a deep red.
"Why would I like that rich boy?!?!" he crossed his arms.
"Joey, it's okay to like someone of the same sex. If you think you're going to be judged by your friends, then you are thinking wrong. And if your friends are going to judge you about whom you like, then they aren't your real friends. And I'm going to tell you a little secret Joey."
I got on my tippy toes to reach his ear, "Seto likes you sweetheart. Drop the big man act with the girls. Go for who your heart wants."
I dropped back down onto my feet and looked at Joey. He was the shade of red that I have never seen before in my life.
I giggled. "Go wait in the limo, I'll tell Yugi the plans. I want you to plan out how to tell him, okay?" He nodded his head and slowly turned and walked away.
I smiled and turned around. Yugi finally came down the stairs with Yami on his heels. "Where's Joey?"
"Waiting in the limo, we had a very one-sided talk." I smiled at Yugi.
"So, the plan for the beach. You guys go and get your beach stuff and meet me back here. I'll let the limo driver know where we are going. He'll have to drop your guys off at the entrance. And then we will have to jump into my truck." I watched Yugi's eyes grow wide.
"But how? Your truck is small."
I smiled at him, "By jumping in the box. Gotta get the off-roading out of your soul sooner or later!"
I could hear Yami laugh behind Yugi, as his face went pale white. I walked up to him and put my hand on his head, "Don't worry Yugi, I've done that trail many of times. You'll be fine! Just got and get your stuff and I'll get the rest ready!"
He nodded and walked to the limo, when he opened the door I could see Joey, still red faced and deep in thought. "I think you broke them Iris."
The baritone voice scared me a bit. I looked at Yami standing because me. "I think so. I'll see you in a like an hour. Want to ride with me to the lake?"
I saw him nodded his head yes. "Then it's settled, we are going to have a lake day!"
-:- I'm fangirlling writing this. Topless Yami...... *Starts to scream* Urg, I wish I could touch that, even one poke , I'd be perfectlly fine! Anyways, I shall start writing the beach chapter!!!!!! Enjoy the cute little picture! -:-
~P.S. Just thought I would let you guys know a little bit about the dead boyfriend thing for Iris. I'm basing that off of what happened to myself. I got pregnant at a very young age and we both agreed to give him up for apdotion. And a couple years later, I lost him to a snowmobiling accident. It hit me really hard and I shut out the whole world till I meet a certain someone. Pretty much like Iris. Plus the mother thing happened to me as well. My mother had walked out of her marraige to my dad when I was 16. It was horrible. BUT! I do feel like I am a wayy better person now because of those times. Figured I would put some reasoning behind the whole dead boyfriend thing for you amazing readers! ~
