At the stage where The Hex Girls were rehearsing earlier, Shaggy, Scooby, Ben, and Velma walked onto the stage. After Scooby and Shaggy mess around with the instruments a bit, The Hex Girls arrive
"Thanks for coming girls." Velma said
"We should all be home resting for the concert tomorrow. We only came cause Ben asked us to." Thorn said
"Hey, I was just following orders." Ben clarified
"Well, what do you want?" Dusk asked.
Just then the wind picked up really fast and the ghost came out from behind the trees and flew at the group and threw a fireball making them all scatter
Shaggy, Velma, and Scooby ran to the forest and past a soccer net and the ghost followed the and then Velma tripped.
"Help me, i've fallen and can't get up." Velma said as Shaggy and Scooby help her get back up
The three turn and see the ghost getting closer and the cowardly duo screamed
Just as the ghost was about 3 feet away from them, Velma shouted, "Now!!"
Once she did, two branches swung and hit the ghost into the soccer net
"Yes!" Velma said as Fred and Daphne came out from the left and Rex came out from the right. "You did it, guys!"
Everyone walked over to the ghost.
"Okay, let's see who's behind all this." Fred said as Rex pulled off the mask of the ghost, revealing the ghost of Sarah Ravencroft to have really been.....
"Zoinks, like, it's the t-shirt guy." Shaggy said surprised
"Mr. McKnight, the pharmacist?" Daphne asked with confusion
The Hex Girls walk up and Thorn gasps.
"Daddy?" she asks sounding confused
"Hello, Sally" He said as he got out of the net
"Your dad's the ghost?" Luna asks
"Your name is Sally?" Fred said.
"I don't believe this, daddy, why would you do this?" Thorn asks still confused about why her father was the ghost
"You mean, you didn't know?" Daphne asks
The Hex Girls all shake their heads.
"Please.....the girls have nothing to do with this." Mr. McKnight says
"What in the world is going on this evening?" The mayor asks
The Mayor walks over and sees that Mr. McKnight was unmasked and fakes a surprised reaction
"Is that you McKnight???" The mayor questions
"Perhaps I can explain." Velma said. "I found flash powder residue where the guys saw the ghost."
Velma pulled back one of the sleeves on the costume, revealing a device strapped to Mr. McKnight's wrist.
"This is the device used to throw the fireballs, which were just wads of flashpaper." Velma explains. "He got it from his daughter's stage props."
Scooby then pushed a button on the wrist device launching a fireball which lands and explodes like a firework revealing that the cherry-picker Ben, Rex, and Velma found in the barn was behind some trees.
"Like, what's that?" Shaggy asked pointing at the cherry-picker
"That's the cherry-picker that made the ghost fly above the trees with the use of an extension device." Rex explains before shining his flashlight on a giant fan. "And that there is the fan that created the eerie wind."
"It would someone pretty strong to hoist Mr. McKnight around. Isn't that right, Jack?!?!?" Velma calls out
Jack then came out from behind the trees and covered his face with his arm to keep the flashlight from blinding him
"Like, you should have been making pot-roasts instead of cooking up trouble." Shaggy said
"That goes for all of you!" Velma added
"'All of you'?" Ben said in confusion
"Sure, there had to be more than one person involved to make this hoax work." Rex said as some of the locals came out from behind trees
"Well I for one am totally shocked by this deception!" The mayor said trying to still hide something
"You can stop the charade now, mayor. Cause you're the one who made me suspicious from the beginning!" Velma said pointing her flashlight at him
"I'm very disappointed in you mayor. And all of you. For lining your pockets by dragging Sarah Ravencroft's name through the mud!" Ben stated not sounding happy at all
Later, back at Ben's mansion, The Hex Girls were looking at the portrait of Sarah Ravencroft
"So she was a real Wiccan?" Thorn asks
"That's right." Ben answers
"She looks beautiful." Dusk adds
"Yes, I think so too. And that's why I get mad when people accuse her of being a witch." Be said looking at the painting
"I guess we owe you girls an apology for thinking you were..." Fred started
"Witches. We saw you perform some sort of ritual in your shed." Daphne added
"Witches? We just pretend that stuff." Dusk said. "It's just a gimmick for our band."
"Like we said earlier, we're Eco-goths. Kinda like Wiccans. Just ask Thorn, she is one" Luna adds
"yeah right. Sally McKnight. 1 16th blood on my mother's side, and that 'ritual' you saw was peppermint and cloves to sooth my vocal cords. You think it's easy singing this stuff?" Thorn comments
"Thorn's herbal vapor is awesome!" Dusk said. "We all use it before and after every show."
"But what about your fangs?" Shaggy asks
"My dad's a dentist. He was the one who put together the fake fangs." Luna said as she took out her fake fangs
"Ben?" The mayor said after stepping inside Ben's office
"What is it?" Ben asked
"We've been ringing your doorbell for some time and..." The mayor started
"Sorry about that, i've been meaning to fix that thing for years. What's up mayor?" Ben says
"Well, Ben, I feel bad about everything and I wanted to apologize for using your ancestor in our little publicity stunt." The mayor added
"The touristy was so slow, we were desperate." Mr. McKnight said
"And you once told me that the supernatural always attracts people." The mayor states
"It was natural to use Sarah because, well, we accidentally dug up her grave." Mr. McKnight added
"What grave?" Ben said
"Well, you see, I lied to you when you asked if we found anything of Sarah's while we were building our puritan village." The mayor answered
"We did. It was her grave-marker." Mr. McKnight said. "We found it in a bull-dozed pile of dirt and rocks. We didn't want to upset you."
"But that's all we found...no bones." The mayor stated
"No...book?" Ben asked
"Nothing but that grave-marker. We swear, Ben." Mr. McKnight stated
"We don't even know where her grave is." The mayor noted
"Yeah. It could be anywhere between Miller's Creek and the old big tree stump." Mr. McKnight said
Velma realized something and asked, "Shaggy, Rex, do you still have that little shoebuckle Scooby found today?"
"Like, yeah. Here." Shaggy said as he pulled it out of his pocket.
Velma compares it to the latch on Sarah's book in the painting and turns to Scooby.
"Scooby, can you show me exactly where you found this?" Velma asks
"Reah." Scooby said
