"Those Hex Girls seem suspicious. Me and Daph should keep an eye on them." Fred said
"Gee,why is it that you always pair up with Daphne, Fred?" Velma asked
"Well, I uh..."Fred started to explain
"Nevermind, it's a good idea. I want to take another look at where the guys saw that ghost." Velma stated, which made Scooby and Shaggy jump a little. "Come on."
Once they get to where Shaggy and Scooby saw the ghost initially, they head into the forest and Velma notices tire tracks
"What are these tire tracks doing back here?" Rex asks in confusion
"Strange, the road's back there." Ben said while pointing at the direction they came from
"Let's follow them." Velma said
"Like, can't we follow them tomorrow? Like, after breakfast?" Shaggy asked as he clearly didn't want to see where they went
However, Ben, Velma, and Rex were already following the tracks.
Shaggy gulped and mutters, "Like, I guess not."
When they eventually catch up, the group sees that the tracks lead to an old barn. Then, the mayor walks outand looks around
"Jinkies, it's the mayor." Velma whispered
"What in the world is he doing here this late at night?" Rex comments
"I don't know. But You, me, and Ben will check out that barn" Velma says. "Meanwhile, Scooby and Shaggy will follow the mayor."
"Like, we will?" Shaggy asked
"Fine, then you search the barn and we'll follow the mayor."Velma said
Shaggy and Scooby looked at the barn for a second before Shaggy said something
"Like, on second thought, we'll take the mayor. He'll never know we're on his tail." Shaggy said as him and Scooby went to follow the mayor as Rex, Ben, and Velma went over to the barn
When getting over to the barn, they began trying to find a way in without making too much noise, so basically Rex's nanites being used was out of the question. The place was locked up tight from the inside.
"There has got to be another way in here." Velma comments
Meanwhile, Daphne had to ask Fred why he always paired her with him when the group would split up.
"So, Freddy, why do you always pair us up?" Daphne asks
"Well, i've thought about this for the longest time and there's never been a good time to tell you. Maybe it's time that I.....wait, duck behind a bush, they're coming." Fred said.
Fred and Daphne duck behind a bush and out of sight of The Hex Girls
"I think we need to perform our ritual, girls." Thorn said
"Not tonight Thorn, my powers are weak from rehearsing." Dusk responds
"Ho about tomorrow, just before the concert?" Luna asks
"Nevermind, i'll do it myself.See you in the morning." Thorn responded
"Bad dreams, sisters." Thorn continued
"Bad dreams, sister Thorn." Dusk and Luna responded
The group started walking their separate ways.
"Did you hear that, Daph? These girls have something to do with this ghost, i'm sure of it. Thorn seems like the leader. Let's follow her." Fred said
"Are you sure you're not just stuck on Thorn, Freddy?" Daphne asks jokingly
Fred rolled his eyes.
Meanwhile, back at the barn, Rex was having to hoist Velma towards a window they found.
"Just a little higher, Rex....got it." Velma said as she crawled through a window and Rex hopped to the ground
Ben and Rex both hear crashing sounds in the barn and when they stopped, Ben first spoke.
"Velma, are you okay???!???" Ben calls out
Velma eventually opens the front door to the barns after picking the lock and gestured for the two to come into the barn.
"I wanna show you guys something I just found." Velma said
The two follow her inside the barn and Velma shows them a cherrypicker.
"It's been used recently. The engine is still warm." Rex said with his hand on the front trunk lid
"But who would be driving it this late at night?" Ben asks
"That's the mystery." Velma answered
Meanwhile, Fred and Daphne had followed Thorn and were secretly watching what she was doing in a shed in her back yard.
The two peak in through the winter and see her doing what they believe to be a ritual
"What's she doing?" Fred asked in a whisper as the two duck back down below the window
"If I didn't know any better...." Daphne started as her and Fred peeked back through the window. "I'd say she is a witch."
Meanwhile, Shaggy and Scooby, while following the mayor had gone through various disguises such as Shaggy dressed as a blind man with Scooby as a guiding dog, the two dressed as a couple, and even using simply bushes. They noticed some suspicious deliveries he had made. Soon, they followed him to a warehouse.
"Like, he won't ditch us that easily." Shaggy said as him and Scooby entered the warehouse
However, the mayor was nowhere to be seen when they entered the warehouse.
"Like, where'd he go?" Shaggy asked
"RI....RI don't know." Scooby answers
They heard a creaking wood sound from an upper level and looked up to see the ghost
"How dare you disturb my resting place!!!!" the ghost hissed
"Zoinks!!" Shaggy yells
Scooby simply screams
"This town will pay!!" the ghost yelled as she flew down at the duo
Shaggy and Scooby started running in place after ducking under the ghost
"Like, mail them a bill, but leave us alone!!" Shaggy said as him and Scooby ran, busting a couple of holes shaped like themselves in the wall
When bolting further into town, full of fear, Scooby and Shaggy ended up running over the mayor and ramming into Velma and Ben, knocking them over and ducking into a mailbox.
"I can't see a thing without my glasses" Ben said as he felt around for his glasses
"Me neither." Velma replied.
Eventually, they got glasses on but Velma ended up with Ben's and Ben ended up with Velma
"Sorry." The two apologized to each other, correcting their errors
"What's going on, you two?" Daphne asked as her, Fred, and Rex came over
"Ask Scooby and Shaggy." Ben said
"Where are they?" Rex asked
"That's no mystery." Velma answers, pointing at a mailbox that was shaking violently
Velma walked over and opened the top deposit section lid
"So what happened, you guys?" Velma asked
"Like, we followed the mayor to some warehouse. Then that ghost attacked us." Shaggy explained
"It did? There goes my cherry-picker theory." Velma said in response
"Cherry-picker theory? Wait 'till you hear what we saw at Thorn's place." Fred said
"Hey, like, we were reporting first." Shaggy said as him and Scooby got out of the mailbox
Scooby nodded as he tried climbing out of the mailbox, popping out and landing on Shaggy's back.
"The mayor is one busy guy." Shaggy said. "Picking things up and dropping other things off."
"Like what exactly?" Rex asks
"What in the world is going on here? What's with the big idea running over me??" The mayor asked in a demanding voice
Later, when taking everyone back to the warehouse, the mayor proved there was no ghost in the warehouse.
"As you can see, there's nothing here, except the damaged wall." The mayor stated
"I'm so sorry about that mayor." Velma apologized. "Shaggy and Scooby just lose it when they get scared. In fact, i'm worried that staying in Oakhaven might just be too frightening of an experience for them. I think we should leave."
Everyone raised an eyebrow.
"But, I need to get one more clue before the night is over.Then I think I can solve the mystery of the Witch's Ghost before tomorrow's Autumn Fest." Velma said
"Oh great...I'll do anything I can to help." the mayor said as he walked out of the warehouse
"Like, I should have known leaving wasn't an option." Shaggy said.
"What was that all about, Velma?" Daphne questions
"You got a plan, don't you?" Rex comments
Velma nods and then everyone got in a huddled circle and discussed how they were gonna trap the ghost of Sarah Ravencroft.
