As the dizzy spell began to clear from his head, Ranboo blinked his tired eyes open. He paused, waiting for his eyes to adjust to the dark environment. Wait, he thought, am I in the...closet? Ranboo narrowed his eyes in suspicion; it certainly looked like a closet. The sentient was sat on the floor, his back to the wall while he faced a closed, wooden door. He pulled his legs into a criss-cross position, and sure enough, his knees bumped against the two side walls. Ranboo hummed as he processed this information. There was no doubt in his mind that he was in the hall closet, but why?
The young humanoid strained his memory, trying desperately to recall the series of events that had led him here. He remembered eating dinner last night. He vaguely recalled putting his son to bed, and he thought he might have bid his platonic husband good night. After that came...nothing, which could only mean one thing.
Ranboo drew his breath in a sharp inhale. "No. No. No, no, no," he mumbled, nerves taking hold of his thoughts. He couldn't have, he- he shouldn't have. He hadn't slipped in months! What could have possibly triggered it? A cocktail of adrenaline and fear coursed through his veins; he had to find his family, fast.
Ranboo lept up from the floor to grab the doorknob; his hand instantly retracted. He hissed as a stinging pain plagued his palm. The doorknob was hot- too hot, almost like it was on fire. Ranboo gasped, his eyes widening as he realized what was happening. "Oh, no." He gripped the bottom of his blazer, and used it to cover the doorknob. With a quick twist and pull, Ranboo yanked open the door...only to find his worst nightmare has come true-
The house was on fire.
Columns of fire clung to the walls up and down the hall, devouring the sentient's home piece by piece. The crackling of wood being chewed up by the flames thundered in Ranboo's ears. A thick, black smoke hung heavy in the air, filling the humanoid's lungs with debris. The sentient doubled over, hands on his knees as three raw coughs were ripped from his throat.
He glanced about the empty hallway, tears blurring his vision; he was alone. "Tubbo? Michael?" When Ranboo was met with no response, his body went on auto-pilot. "Tubbo?! Michael?!" The humanoid ran down the hall, throwing doors open left and right, searching through every room he could, but alas, his family was nowhere to be found.
THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!!!!! Where are Tubbo and Michael?!?!
