My trembling hands and twitching fingers
Bitting my lower lip, I avoid your gaze
Something turning in my stomach
I try to speak with my dry lips
But words get lost in my thoughts
I can feel the crowd staring at me
Even though its just you and me in the room
At this moment why do I feel so nervous?
My heart feels like it's about to burst
Do I talk or leave the room?
The awkward silence is eating me
This tranquil atmosphere is killing me
My mind is forced to over think
If I manage to blurt out a word
Will it be appropriate or not?
In this silence blank space
The wind coming from the window
Is the only thing that fills the room
The curtains moving with a tingling sound
I sit in-front of you with my lowered gaze
At this moment why do I feel so anxious?
I can't feel myself breathing
My confidence is drowning
In the ocean of my thoughts
I know all the answers
Yet I cannot bring myself to speak
What if I said something wrong?
Believing in myself
