Shinsou Hitoshi x black reader

desc • this is a black y/n insert
quirk : fairy

Y/n and Hitoshi had been together for over four years, their fateful encounter during their second year in high school triggering a long lasting relationship, and only after a year of being engaged they counted the days to their wedding in anticipation

Y/n was a foreigner who too had found it quite hard to fit in, bullied for her unique appearance, though to Hitoshi she was the prettiest woman he had met by far in this lifetime, a pair of colourful butterfly wings and elven ears, glorious skin, long intricate braids which ran down her back with the cutest beads and a perfect smile, everything about her was perfect from the way she spoke to her quirk itself

he just knew they'd be together forever

"Hitoshi remember I have to go to the dress fitting today" she muttered as the purple haired man snuggled into her chest, tightening his grip around her waist "can't you reschedule it. .we have so much time"

"No babe we don't, it's in less than five days and you need to try on your suit"

"I just want to be with you" he whined as she ran her fingers through his purple tresses "and you will. .don't be so impatient, I have a busy day today, but I promise I'll spend the rest of the week with you"Hitoshi sighed "I'll be coming back home early from the agency"

"Dinner on me" y/n grinned
"I would love that"

"I mean I have to feed my wife and potentially Yumi and Isao" he chuckled "yeah no, as much as I want children, not right now"

"That's okay, can't have them stealing all your attention" he said seriously with a humourless tone, making her chuckle "Haha not you getting jealous of our non existent children"

"Me jealous ? Never"

"And please please please, speak to my family today about the reservations" she begged, her family did not like Shinsou at all, for what reason? She wouldn't be able to tell you, perhaps it was because if they were to wed she'd be confined to a foreign place for the rest of her life, considering they moved back to (country) all those years ago

"I will, I have to make sure our day is perfect" Hitoshi leaned forward to capture her lips

"I love you"

"I love you too, now please get up or we will be late!"

After a long day of scheduling appointments, dress fittings and meeting up with her bridesmaids, who too had busy schedules because of their hero lifestyle, this was the moment she had dreamed of, she had to make sure nothing would go wrong, emailing and calling caterers and designers to go over the final view of the venue and for the final portion of the day she arrived at a small cafe to meet with her favourite person

"Shoto!" The dual haired man sat by a booth as he lazily stared out of the window, he stood to greet his long time friend with a hug, Shoto and y/n always had the best dynamic and had instantly clicked, though he had always tend to distance himself when she was with or around Shinsou, simply because he was respecting "boundaries"

"Really thank you for this, Shinsou has just been so busy and I've been planning the wedding, it's nice to have a break with a close friend" she clasped his hands within her own

"No need to thank me. .I also decided to spend time with you, I guess to also gain some type of closure, before your big day, I wish you all the best, it's too bad we didn't work out, but you and Hitoshi seem perfect together" Y/n chuckled, playing with her coiled locks "what do you mean we were never together" Shoto eyed her in surprise

"Though that accidental kiss and—"

"I know it was always a touchy subject. .but nothing about our relationship was an accident" he strained

"I'm sorry Shoto but—"

"huh— why are you looking at me like that, I'm serious, I thought this was a joke" she didn't recall developing a sort of relationship with Shoto, nothing more than friends and that was how it had always been, the man tapped through his phone, showing her picture she couldn't remember taking, the two of them embracing under the same grand cherry tree at their previous school

she dug deep into her mind but she never remembered any sort of interaction with him, though her sense of measuring time was rather terrible, it was as if the memory was at the tip of her thoughts but was repelled by some unnamed force, she had been with Shinsou for as long as she could remember, her school days filled with spending endless amount of times with one another . .right

They rarely fought or ever got into arguments and even those heated discussions were always smoothed over, how could she have forgotten something like this "y/n are you alright" she had ignored his calls, deep in thought "yeah I'm fine, I just — I just couldn't seem to understand" Shoto would never lie to her and nor did he lie in general

"How long were we together for Shoto" she twisted her engagement ring " for almost a year, you had broken up with Hitoshi then, we were going smoothly, but we had an abrupt ending" he worded his sentence cautiously "I've never hated you for it. .but don't you remember sending me the message, breaking up with me then suddenly forgetting I existed"

"Then we never spoke about it after that"

Her eyes widened she would never do such a thing, especially if she cared about Shoto, she'd at least offer him an explanation, something was very strange, she bit down on her lip "h-hey I need to leave, let's meet again later this week after my dress fitting, maybe you can shed some more light on exactly what happened"

"Sure, take care Y/n" she swiftly left the small café, Todoroki too seemed rather confused that she had forgotten the entire ordeal that occurred, even in high school she could remember the slightest things, but now it seemed as if her mind had slowed and he now had to fill in all the blank spots, her frantic expressions and movements described something deeper and though he didn't want to, he began to suspect the groom himself

Later that night, Y/n couldn't get that eerie feeling that something was not right and even Hitoshi had noticed, though she had brushed it off in an attempt to continue their romantic dinner, for the entirety of the days leading to their wedding she found herself forgetting simple appointments and the little things that needed doing, it had gotten to the point Hitoshi's mother had to have step in to support her believing she was simply overwhelmed

Shoto had continued the story answering a few questions like how long they had been together, if they had been deeply in love, intimate or if anyone knew, their relationship wasn't a public thing nor was it private, the simple gestures like long embraces and slight kisses in front of their classmates was obvious enough and when she had told her bridesmaids they had said the same

"You really forgot" Mina said, twirling around in the mirror ad she so served her (d/c) dress, "I remember you spilling to us every single detail" Ochako mused "maybe it's just pre wedding stress, it was a long time ago I guess"

Momo clasped her hands, arching her eyebrow "that is strange, how could we all remember but you don't. .yet it was strange how you got back together with Hitoshi, you moved on from Shoto so quickly it was concerning"

Y/n pulled at her braids could she confront Hitoshi so close to the date of the wedding, he was never disloyal and her never lied to her up to now, but the suspicion quickly grew

"Don't worry about it too much Y/n, that's in the past now" Tsuyu pat her shoulder, with a smile, and as much as she tried to feel somewhat relieved her urge to panic intensified and then it was far too late ..

Finally the long awaited day had finally arrived, the groomsmen and bridesmaids were lined accordingly by the alter, family and friends had taken their seats in the beautiful venue and now all that was missing was the bride

The music had began to play, Hitoshi pat down his suit for the final time before facing towards the door, this was it, they'd be together and nothing could keep them apart she would be his, till death....

but she had never arrived at the alter, the guests began to stir and Hitoshi stormed down the aisle in search for his run away bride, her behaviour days prior were uncharacteristic, though he brushed past them, excusing her actions as anxiety he couldn't help but feel a certain dual haired man played a role in her change

"It was too bad, with this beautiful dress and my makeup all done, why did I wait until the day of the wedding to confront him. ." the white fabric looked heavenly against her skin but her urge to know what lay beneath the surface was far deeper, as if her ancestors were muttering and dictating her actions

there she stood, looking at herself one last time in the vanity, fidgeting with her fingers "I can't do this, there is no way" she refused to marry a man she no longer trusted , at least not until he gave her the answers she deserved "Y/n! There you are"

"They said they couldn't find you anywhere"

"Don't tell me you are having second thoughts about this" he spoke slowly, making his way towards her "remember we are doing this together. . We're a team" she turned around

"I am, because If we are a team then why does it feel like I'm the only one playing this game fairly" he faltered "w-what y/n"

"Hitoshi, you know how much I love you. .but until, I am sure of exactly who you really are and the man I'm sharing my life with, I refuse to walk down that aisle"

"Y/n what exactly are you saying"

"What are you hiding from me Hitoshi, I want the truth this time"

"I haven't been hid—"

"You are lying, you can't even look me in the eyes, i know you better than that, in our last year of high school what happened between us Hitoshi"

"Nothing—"

"No! What happened between Shoto and I"

"Stop dodging the question"

"So this is about him again"

"No Hitoshi it's about us and —" realisation seemed to hit her, 'what did he mean by 'again' it was as if the whole world was hiding a secret from her and no matter how hard she tried she couldn't seem to understand the mumbling until now "Hitoshi did you use your quirk on me then—"

"Stop with the questions y/n!" he snapped, she kept her mouth shut, the very look in his eyes , wasn't the same man she cared for but a villainous glare, "And here I thought it would last. .that this time I was strong enough" he whispered to himself, running his hands through his hair in frustration

His outburst only confirmed her suspicions "so it's true. .you really—"

"No y/n. .let's just this pretend this didn't happen" she didn't say a word, she simply staggered out of her heels, stumbling towards the door, The purple haired man reached for her, swinging her body towards the vanity

"All the guests are waiting for us—"

"don't touch me!" She shrieked activating her quirk, blood seeped from his ivory skin, a large gash marking his face , a reflective surface protruding from his temple. The vanity had shattered around the two of them, her arms littered with minuscule cuts, Y/n wasted no time in rushing away from him

A heavy weight had been lifted off of her subconscious yet it felt as if a pile of bricks had dropped on her shoulders, an aching feeling in her head, visions flooded back and a chain of pictures and images came flashing through her eyes

"who were you with"

"Todoroki san" the fairy spoke watching his reaction with a smile

"Huh— you two seem to be getting closer"

"No need to be jealous, I was just helping him with his quirk and the project we have due"

"Oh. .couldn't you work on that another time"

"Oh Toshi please stop looking at me like that. .you know I'll always love you, we were best friends before any of this Hitoshi, nothing will change that, especially not a new friend"

"Hitoshi I don't really think this is working out"

"What do you mean y/n"

"You are becoming really obsessive, these feelings you have for me are way to intense, way to strong to be real"

"You screamed at Shoto simply because he held my hand, that was completely out of character Hitoshi even for you, I've never even heard you raise your voice"

"You didn't even understand how I was feeling at that moment —"

"I should be the only one who is allowed to offer you comfort, no one else! You belong to me, I thought we established this"

"I don't belong to anyone but myself"

"there you go again. .I'm not your property, I guess these are your true colours finally coming out into the light, I'm tired of this and I'm tired of you, I want friends I want to develop relationships with people other than you Hitoshi, but you can't seem to handle that"

"I don't even know who you are anymore. ."

"W-wait where are you going Y/n"

"Come back, w-we can still sort this out"

"To see Shoto, he needs me and I want to be far away from you"

"I'm sorry, I'll never do that again, please just give me one more chance just one"

"You were right I was overreacting y/n" he said frantically reaching to grab her wrist

"You've said these exact words before Hitoshi, I'm convinced you are just a broken record stuck on repeat. ." She sighed, gently pulling away from his grasp, " I guess we really were better off just friends, I'm sorry that we didn't work out" that exact night she walked out and never looked back

He had even done far worse deeds, violating her not only as a person but as a woman and that is what truly broke her heart

arms hooked around her waist, and she was dragged off into another room, a hand covering her mouth, iron flooding her senses, Y/n flailed before she was thrown onto the carpeted floor "I didn't want to have to do that, but you left me no other choice" she glared up at Shinsou who loosened his tie,

using the material to wipe away the blood smears from her face ever so gently "I hate seeing you like this y/n"

"Hitoshi" tears brimmed in her bloodshot eyes, as she clutched her dress, the once white colour now stained with crimson, and torn at the side, she casted her veil away "w-why are you doing this to me" his facade had been began to crumble, and the expression of worry he wore dissolved into nothing but indifference

"Tell me everything I saw wasn't true!"

"It didn't have to be like this"

"y-you used your quirk on me! For how long!"

"look, y/n we can forget this ever happened, we can start over —"

"No enough, tell me the truth now, I want to hear it from your mouth!"  Everything began to flood back, Y/n and Hitoshi had encountered many problems, in their last year of school, he was no longer the person she fell in love with, he became much more passive aggressive and obsessive, she had fell out with the him which had then ended their relationship before she then revealed she would be seeing Todoroki but miraculously they were still together, their busy schedules also caused them to pull apart, yet she had strangely agreed to move in with him and become his stay at home "wife"

She developed deep feelings for the Todoroki and Shinsou couldn't handle that in the slightest, while y/n retrieved her stuff from Hitoshi he had taken that moment to use his quirk, it was a new skill he acquired but with a certain trigger word or an entire release he could hide a memory through a command

He had forced her to leave Shoto , formulating a message , that would ensure it would be nothing but a foggy memory, and smoothed things over with her, their last fight becoming nothing but a slight stumble in their relationship, the fairy had a very strong mind and often had herself pausing and pushing that memory forward, only for the same argument to occur and Shinsou having to use his quirk once more, he abused this power

Every single time they met a bump in the road one that would indefinitely ruin their relationship, he used his quirk to erase small parts of their memory, every single time he had done something to her that she didn't approve of, he'd control her actions and she couldn't remember a single thing, only a bubbling emotion that she couldn't get rid of

"Why didn't you just let me go Hitoshi!"

"How did we get to this point"

"If you stopped loving me, there would be no reason for living Y/n, you brought something into my life and became the sole reason I even woke up in the morning..I couldn't let you leave, especially to be with someone undeserving of your love " Obsession was a scary thing and love often got caught up in the mix and the line between the two blurred

"You don't love me Hitoshi" she whispered "it's clear you never did, you never loved me enough so I could be happy! Don't you see how unnatural this is"  the silence was deafening, he had else nothing to say

Shinsou had enough of her wails, no quirk would erase what had happened and it was clear she would never forgive him, "Shoto was right" she whispered, yet it was loud enough for him to hear, he hated it, this wouldn't be the end, this relationship would only end when he said so, he stepped back towards the glass pane

"what are you doing" y/n pulled herself up "something I should have done a long time ago, there's no point in breathing—"

"what are you doing!"

He raised his arms behind his head

a gory screech erupted from her throat, as his body slammed through the glass pane, her wings tore through her dress, causing her to swiftly fly forward and grab him before he could dive forward"See you do love me!

"No! I'm going to make sure you suffer for this" a devious smirk crossed his lips "then let's suffer together my love, you and I. ." the man pulled at her wings beginning their harsh descent "h-huh stop! you are insane!" she struggled under his grip as he clawed at her wings so they would meet their demise together

"If I can't have you. . no one can" a twisted smile pulled across bloodstained features,

"You are mine"

"Hitoshi!"

A heavy thud resonated a piercing scream of a civilian alerting their guests

The heroes had quickly run out, the guests following suit, before the ceremony could even begin there laid the bride and groom, soaked in their own blood, Hitoshi had seemed to taken the brunt of the fall, glass shards protruding from his skin, pale eyes devoid of light staring up into the sky, truly it was a grotesque sight, but the bride, still a beauty even moments away from an eternal slumber, stirred, Shoto was the first to bolt towards the scene "what the hell!"

"Y/n!"

"How could this have happened!"

"D-did someone push them!"

"call reinforcements hurry !" He pulled the fairy into his arms "hang on y/n"

It were the longest nights of her life

Though she was alive miraculously after her fatal tumble, this way of living was hell, ever since she had woken up she had no longer said a word, even while Shoto had taken it up as his role to watch after and provide for her, y/n quietly glared at the gold wedding band which lay on the table and whenever others dared to touch it she let out a terrifying screech

The day they had told her of Shinsou's passing she had portrayed no emotion at all, as if the news was still processing

She feared the night, she feared sleep itself, as if the dead would resurrect and Hitoshi would drag her back to that life of playing "family" her mind was damaged to the point she was capable of feeling anything, everything and nothing at all, her skin was much paler and sickly and while she rocked back and forth muttering to herself, that powerful woman she once was shrivelled and died within her

Life through her eyes was only an everlasting labyrinth, "y/n how are you" she glanced up at the figure who stood by the door, still dressed in a pristine suit, she closed her eyes tight, shielding herself with the blankets, biting down on her lips "there is no need to be scared, I'm here, I'll always be here, to keep you safe. .warm. .loved"

Her violent sobbing echoed through the room, wouldn't the nightmare end, her body racked with tremors as the figure came closer, footsteps bouncing across her mind, he's not there, he was never there, yet it was hard to believe anything when the mind couldn't tell what was real and wasn't, Y/n peeked though the crevice of the blanket

The figure drenched in his own blood, porcelain skin scarred with open wounds. .those same purple eyes she once loved with every fibre of her being

"Forever, onwards and more . .until you die"
