I woke up feeling very hot. My eyes opened, and I saw the ceiling above me, but there was something else right beside me. I turned my head to look, and became alert with a start. Natsu was grinning wildly down at my face. I screamed in fear. "Oh, Geez! Natsu, you scared me half to death!" My heart was beating super fast from the sudden outburst, and Eevee immediately went into battle mode.
"Sorry, my bad!" He put a hand up and a ball of fire was visible from it.
My eyes widened. "Natsu! Your hand's on fire!"
"What? Of course it is! That's my magic!" He then extinguished it and put it down. "I just wanted to know when we were going to have our fight." I blinked twice, still struck silly by his flaming hand.
I heard a yawn. "What's with all the yelling?" Lucy was barely waking up and rubbed her eyes. That's when she saw who was standing over her. "What are you doing here?!" she yelled. "Get out of my room!"
"I was just coming to say good morning!" he looked at her with confused eyes.
"Like hell you were! You just came to see when the fight was!"
"No I wasn't!" Lucy growled at him. "Okay, maybe I'm a little excited to beat her, but still! She's a part of the guild too!"
I stared at them as they argued, and I couldn't help but start laughing. Natsu and Lucy looked at me in wonder. "Sorry, sorry!" I calmed myself. "You guys just act so much younger than I thought, that's all."
"What's that supposed to mean?!" Lucy yelled in protest.
"Nothing!" I winked, then turned to Natsu. "And Natsu, we can have our fight later today. Is there a particular place you wanted to go?"
He grinned. "There's a big square in the middle of town. Meet me there at three this afternoon." He then punched his hand with his fist, flames spreading out from them. "And get ready for a major beat down! I'm all fired up!" With that, he leaped out the window above me, laughing his head off.
"Use the front door!!" Lucy screamed while he ignored her. She sighed. "I swear, he's such an idiot!" But she then looked at me with a worried look. "Elena?"
"Hmm?" I was scratching Eevee's ears, and she moaned in delight.
"Are you okay with this?" she asked.
"What do you mean?" I looked into her eyes then.
"You do know that Natsu is one of the strongest wizards of the guild, right? He could burn your Pokémon to a crisp!"
I grinned. "Don't worry about them, Lucy. They can take anything that were to be thrown at them. Even the hottest fire wouldn't be able to burn Glaceon very easily, I assure you. Remember when I talked about the types?"
"Yeah, you said that there were about eighteen in all, right?"
I nodded to her. "Well, they all have their own strengths and weaknesses against each other. For example, a water type has a big advantage over a fire type. As does an electric type has an advantage over a water type. It all correlates to what is weak and what is strong against what in type." I looked down at Eevee again, petting her soft fur. "But even if Glaceon, the ice type, or Leafeon, the grass type were to face off against his fire, which has an advantage, they wouldn't go down as easy as you think. That's what makes them so strong."
Eevee flipped over, brushing her tail against my side and lifting her paws into the air. Her back leg twitched as I scratched a weak spot. "But if it makes you feel better, I can use the advantages over the weaknesses. They need the extra training, anyway."
"Yeah, I would like that." She relaxed her posture, and I grinned at her. That's when she brightened up her face. "Hey! I know what we can do this morning!"
"What?"
"We can go shopping for some new clothes for you! That way you'll blend into us better, and you'll get to wear some cute outfits of Magnolia!" she clapped her hands in excitement.
"But, I don't have any money..." How many times did I have to say it?
"I told you, you don't need to worry about that. We just want you to feel like one of us right now, Elena. So, you should stop worrying!"
I knew she meant really well, but I just felt guilty for everything she's done and is willing to do. But, she looked so happy that I couldn't help smiling at her and giving in. "Okay, I'm sorry. When did you want to go?"
"As soon as possible, of course! Hurry up and get ready!" Lucy was already picking out her outfit for the day from her dresser.
"But, I want breakfast..." I wined.
"I'll make you some, just get ready while I do!" She rushed into her bathroom and shut the door behind her.
I couldn't help but smile while Eevee licked her paw to clean her face.

It was now almost 3:00 in the afternoon, and the whole guild was piled into the square in the middle of town. I walked up to the crowd, starting to get excited in what I'd be showing them. My new outfit that Lucy bought me was a cute pink t-shirt that ended just above my belly button with a brown skirt. My boots also were a dark brown and had pink buckles that went up the sides of my legs. My high ponytail had a pink tie in it with a small flower on it to make me look cuter.
"Are you sure you don't want to back out?" Lucy asked for the fiftieth time.
"Lucy!" I scolded. "You're insulting me! I'll be fine, I promise. Just go and cheer me on, and take care of Eevee while you do." I had Eevee leap into her arms, and shooed her away with a hand motion. Speed-walking into the arena, Natsu was already warming himself up, popping his knuckles and testing his flames with his hand. I grinned evilly at him. He noticed.
"It's on, Elena!" he growled. "Get ready to burn down to the ground!"
I humphed. "I wouldn't get so cocky, Natsu. You haven't even seen my Pokémon at their best. Not even close." I sifted through my bag, picking out the first pokéball. I lifted it from the bag in its tiny state. "Where I'm from, we call a fight between two trainers a battle. If you can beat two of my team, that's when you should talk. So bring it, flame head! Show me what you got!" I pushed the button that enlarged the ball.
"I think she's the one who's cocky now," I heard from the crowd.
Natsu stomped the ground, fire blazing from his feet. He was obviously ready due to the anger in his face. "Then, come on!"
"Vaporeon, it's time to fight!" I threw the ball forward and upward, and the ball popped open to let out the flash of light that exploded into Vaporeon. She landed softly onto the concrete, waving her fishy tail from side to side. She stood in battle mode, ready to take whatever he could throw at her.
He chuckled, clearly not impressed. "It's the fishy one!" I heard a small voice say, with another one shushing him.
"Don't be rude!" I heard Carla scold.
My eyes closed, and the spark went through our minds. "I'm warning you, Natsu. Vaporeon's water is able to drench any fire. Even if it was a whole forest!"
"Fine with me, but I'm not a forest! FIRE DRAGON..." Here it comes!
"Go!" I yelled to her, but then realized that it was also pointed right at me, and gasped.
"ROAR!!" A burst of flame shot out from his mouth, and headed straight for me. I quickly threw myself to the side, barely dodging the flames he shot forward.
"Watch where you're aiming, idiot!!" Lucy scolded.
He didn't listen as he started throwing fire punches. Vaporeon was dodging them beautifully, but now it was our turn to attack. "Water Gun!" Vaporeon blasted a turbine of water, knocking Natsu backwards on his feet. He grunted in pain from the sudden burst of water, but only managed to step backwards to keep his balance.
I knew that this was going to be a tough fight, but I wasn't worried. "FIRE DRAGON WING ATTACK!!" Two flaming whips appeared from his arms.
"Dodge it!" Vaporeon kept jumping, beautifully moving her blue body around the flames. "Aqua Ring!" Vaporeon leaped up, and huge ring of water appeared around her body that splashed the flames into steam.
Natsu was now getting angry, and this time tried to grab Vaporeon with his bare hands. I had to think of something then, because I knew that he knew that he couldn't use his fire any longer against her. I noticed the stream with a bridge over it, and turned my body towards it. "Vaporeon, to the river!"
She immediately sprinted towards the water, and I followed. Natsu was not far behind at all, and Vaporeon leaped in. He threw a fireball with his hands, but it just ended up in steam when it hit the water. He growled in frustration. "Come out and fight!"
I walked up with my arms crossed in amusement. "You'll never be able to find her," I grinned. He relaxed his face to listen to me. "I never told you about her body, did I?" The guild was now listening themselves. "The molecules in her body allow Vaporeon to completely dissolve into the water."
"What the hell does that mean?!" Natsu grunted.
"It means that she could be anywhere in the river." I then opened my eyes. "Water Pulse." A swirling giant tube of water drenched Natsu. He just stood there with his clothes drenched, and then exploded with his fire in fury.
"This is humiliating!!" He yelled. "FIRE DRAGON..." His two arms came out to the sides with giant balls of flame on his hands, and I widened my eyes. "BRILLIANT FLAME!!" The fire came together, and a huge ball of flame was thrown into the water. The next thing I knew I was soaking wet, and Vaporeon was in the air from every drop of water leaving the river. With her eyes closed in pain. "FIRE DRAGON ROAR!!" The fire covered Vaporeon as she roasted and cried in pain.
"Vaporeon!" I yelled. Her blue body and fish tail fell like a rag doll onto the pavement, Natsu laughed out loud in triumph, but I just gave him a grin of amusement. Vaporeon stood up without any sign of injury, and shook herself back into focus. "Great job!" I told her.
Natsu was staring at her in amazement. "What?! How is it still standing?!"
"You don't know?" I chuckled. "Vaporeon is a water type. One of the things with Pokémon is that water types have an advantage over fire types. It's not all based on strength with me, you know." I kept smiling as I explained.
Natsu growled. "That's dirty!"
"It's not dirty, just strategy." I then hardened my glare. "But now, it's time to show you strength. Vaporeon, Aqua Jet!"
A tube of water came spiraling towards Natsu, and barely missed him when he dodged. But Vaporeon was now reading my mind, and she spun back around in a split second to crash into Natsu. He stumbled backwards, and grunted as Vaporeon landed in front of me again. "Is that all you got, Salamander?" I heard his nickname from one of the guild members named Gajeel earlier that morning. "Don't tell me this is going to be an easy fight."
"She's amazing!" I heard Wendy within the crowd behind us. "Is that thing actually beating him?"
Natsu just smiled, though. "Don't get cocky. I'm just getting started. FIRE DRAGON..." he began running towards us, with his fist burning. "IRON FIST!!"
"Fling up into the air with your tail!" I ordered, and Vaporeon pushed up on her tail to leap twenty feet into the air above Natsu. The crowd as well as Natsu were amazed with how high she flew, and I moved my head towards her body. She then started to fall. "Aqua Tail!"
Her fish tail was covered in water as she zoomed towards the fire mage. I thought that he was going to just keep staring at her, but the next thing I knew, Vaporeon's tail was being crushed in his grip. She tried hard not to cry in pain from how much he squeezed. Natsu chuckled, and flung her small body into the pavement.
I widened my eyes, but kept my cool. "Wrap his arm with your tail!" She opened her eyes, and immediately grabbed ahold of his strong arm. I knew then that she wasn't going to let go very easily. Natsu tried to pry her off anyway, his hand slipping from her fishy skin.
"Get off of me!" He yelled into her face.
"Just hang on!" I told her. "Don't let him get away!"
I could tell Natsu was straining to remove her from her grip. The veins in his face and arms started to show as he grunted, his teeth clenched in frustration.
"Grab his neck!" I yelled. Vaporeon was quick as she then wrapped around Natsu's neck. I grinned evilly. "Squeeze," I said. She tightened her tail, and Natsu was completely helpless. He opened his mouth to try and get air, but just ended up rolling his eyes back until only the white was showing. I chuckled evilly.
"Natsu!" Lucy screamed. "Stop! You're going to kill him!"
"All right, fine." I waved a hand. "Vaporeon, you had your fun. Finish him off with Aqua Tail!" I crossed my arms.
Vaporeon let go of Natsu, and her tail was covered in water again. She slapped his face hard, then slammed him down into the concrete pavement. She did it so hard, the whole concrete shattered. She landed right next to him, swishing her blue tail while looking behind her down at him.
He tried to push himself up from the ground, but struggled. "Hmm," I tilted my head. "You just don't give up, do you?" I sighed. "Then I guess we'll have to make sure you won't get up again."
"What?!" Lucy asked, astonished.
Vaporeon leaped into the air, and landed in front of me facing Natsu. I closed my eyes, and felt the spark go through our minds. "Hydro Pump."
We opened our eyes, and Vaporeon built up water in her body. It convulsed, and a giant burst of water as powerful as a jet shot out from her mouth. Natsu's body flew like a rag doll into the wall of the building in front of us, crumbling it. Gravity pulled him off, and he landed face down on the ground with a thud.
The spark faded between our minds and Vaporeon looked behind her at me with a smile. "Vapor!"
I smiled back at her, and crouched down to hug her in my arms. "I'm so proud of you!" She licked my face in happiness. The fight was over!
"Oh my god..." I heard Lucy say. "You destroyed him!"
Me and Vaporeon looked up at her, and smiled sweetly. "I told you! There's nothing to worry about."
"Yeah," she smiled at us with a soft expression. Natsu then grunted, waking up. Lucy looked behind her with her blonde hair swishing, and ran up to him. "Natsu! Are you okay?" Everyone else in the guild was also taking care of him, but then crowded around me and Vaporeon when I walked up. Eevee hopped onto my shoulder.
"That was amazing!" Wendy commented. "I had no idea Pokémon could be so powerful!"
"You got that right! Natsu was kicked into the dirt!" Romeo went crazy.
I sweat dropped. "Romeo, that's not very nice."
"It's true, though." Gray walked up to me. "I've never seen Natsu get beat down that badly in a long time. It was great!"
I sweat dropped harder. Didn't they care about him at all?
"I gotta say..." I looked over, and Natsu lifted his head while trembling in pain. "You were a challenge." He flinched and grunted.
I walked up to him with a smile, and crouched down. "Hey, I never said I was going to go easy on you. You put that on yourself."
He then sat up into a criss-cross position without saying anything. What he did have was a pouty face amongst the bruises. I let out a chuckle in sympathy. Vaporeon decided to walk up to him to make up, but Natsu just ended up looking away in frustration. I could tell that he hated to lose, and gave him a look of saness for it. Vaporeon noticed too, and placed a paw on his knee. He just grunted though, and she took bigger measures. Her blue face with big fins touched his hand. He then looked at her in wonder, and she nudged it even more to cover her forehead with a smile.
The guild gave out an aww, and I chuckled again. "She still wants to be friends, you know." I moved my eyes down. "We both do."
I could feel his gaze on me, and he let out a small breath. I looked up again to see his smile. "I never said you weren't, but that doesn't mean that I don't want a rematch!" Vaporeon let out a happy cry, and leaped into his lap to have him pet her.
I smiled. "Of course, maybe some time."
Everyone in the guild was laughing in happiness as Natsu gently stroked Vaporeon. She purred in contentment, and even moved her head up to rub his face. He laughed in happiness. I felt the tears of joy coming again, and struggled to keep them from flooding my eyes. Lucy wrapped her arm around my shoulders, and I laughed with her as a best friend. Levy joined in, taking the other side of me.
I knew then that this was going to be my new home. I would never go back to Kalos again.
