She stood at the edge of the cliff.
Who was 'her'? Her name was Anne. She was quiet and average. No one had expected her out of all people to climb the mountain. Anne began to regret accepting her 'friend's' dare. She kept standing. She looked up at the pale moon and shivered in the cold October wind. She took out her small toy knife. Her only knife. Her only toy.
Anne sucked in a harsh breath. She patiently waited at the ledge, staring into the gaping hole in front of her. "Jump in already!" Her friend shouted behind her. She felt herself fall into the darkness. Then...
