Amelia's POV
I flopped on the bed tired. I came walking from school and my legs are hurting
wait I also have to go to Tayler's house for the project ughhh
I carried myself to the bathroom. I already took a shower in the morning so I just washed my face and brushed my hair again
I walked to the closet and grabbed some comfy clothes
^without the glasses
I grabbed my bag and walked downstairs.
I didn't see my dad so he's probably at work, he's always been at work recently
I grabbed an apple from the kitchen before walking out of the house
I realized that Tayler's house is only 5 minutes away from mine
it probably takes only 2 minutes in the car
I stood in front of his house
OH MY-DOES HE LIVE IN THIS HOUSE?!
it's a mansion not a house, like so big and huge.
I walked to the door and rang the bell
after a while, the door opened revealing a shirtless Tayler
he was in grey sweatpants and his hair was messier than usual
I tried so hard not to look at his half naked body, especially his abs
"what are you doing here?" he asked. his voice was raspy it looks like he woke up from a nap or something
"did you forget that we have to work for the project?" I asked rolling my eyes
"oh right, come in" he said letting me in
I walked inside and my jaw dropped as I saw the house from inside
it was more beautiful from the inside
"it's awesome right?" Tayler said cockily
I rolled my eyes at his high ego
"I've seen better" I said still looking around
I definitely haven't seen better
"let's go" he said walking while I followed him
we walked into a room, which I think was his room
"you're lucky I cleaned my room yesterday" he said flopping on his bed
I sat on a chair and put my bag next to me
"come sit here, I don't bite, unless you want me too" he said smirking
I rolled my eyes and looked at the bed in disgust
"I can't imagine what happened in this bed" I said in disgust
"nothing happened, when I hook up with girls, I go to their houses. you're the first girl that enters my room other than Kelianne" he said putting his hands behind his head as he stared at the ceiling
"I feel special" I mumbled getting up
I sat next to him on the bed
"are we gonna work or not?" I asked annoyed
he at up and moved closer to me
I just remembered that he's still shirtless
"can you please put a shirt on?" I asked looking away from him
"why do my abs get your attention?" he said moving closer to me
I shook my head and got up
"put a shirt on and let's start working" I said
"I mean we can do other things" he said getting up and walking closer to me
he kept walking to me and I kept backing away until my back hit the wall
he walked closer until he was so close of me
he put his hands on both sides of my head and looked down at me
I could feel his hot breath on my face
he removed my hair from my face and put it behind my ear
I felt my cheeks turn red as his hand touched my cheek
"you're blushing cupcake" he said smirking
he backed away
"cupcake?" I asked
"new nickname, do you prefer nerd?" he asked
I shook my head quickly
"great then cupcake it is" he said smirking
I wonder if he knows how to smile
"can we please do our project now?" I asked
"I don't feel like it" he said shrugging and walking out
I followed him outside as he walked downstairs
he walked into the kitchen and there was a woman standing there
"hey mom" he said giving her a kiss on the cheek
I smiled as she smiled widely seeing him
I stood there awkwardly as they talked
them Tayler noticed me and motioned for me to come closer
"mom this is Amelia, she's my...friend. Amelia this is my mom" he said
I smiled at his mom and she smiled back. she pulled me into a hug and I hugged her back
"nice to meet you Mrs. Holder" I said smiling politely
"call me Wendy, Tayler I already know we're gonna be best friends" she said putting her arm around my shoulder
Tayler smiled before grabbing my hand
"okay mom we're going to go work on our project, bye" he said pulling me with him upstairs
"she's really sweet" I said as we entered his room
he closed the door behind him and nodded
"that's why I want you to be my fake girlfriend" he said making me look at him confused
"she has breast cancer, stage 4. there's a big chance of her not surviving. she always wanted me to get a girlfriend, so she can have fun with her and so she can be like her daughter. she is getting a treatment, but recently it's been not giving any use" he said with teary eyes
I felt my eyes tearing up too
he was only doing this for his mother
I walked to him and hugged him. he hugged me back and put his head on my shoulder
I felt my hoodie turn wet indicating that he was crying
I rubbed his back as we sat on the bed
"we can work tomorrow, I don't feel like working right now" he said pulling away
I got up and grabbed my bag
"I'm gonna go home, get some sleep you need it" I said
he nodded and I started walking to the door
"Lia" he said making me turn around
"please don't tell anyone about this" he said
I smiled and nodded before walking out
I walked downstairs and to the kitchen to tell Wendy goodbye
"bye Wendy, I'm going home" I said
she smiled and gave me a hug
"bye honey. be safe" she said smiling
I smiled back before walking outside
I walked back home, thinking about what Tayler said
I'm gonna say yes
for his mother
he loves her so much, and wants to see her happy before she leaves him
I'm gonna help him to see his mom happy. at least maybe I can remember how happy I was when my mom was here
she died three years ago, she was hit by a car driven by a drunk driver
that's why I hate drinking, and going to parties where most probably there's drinks there
I grabbed my keys and entered the house.
I walked to the living room and saw Addison?
"Addison? what are you doing here? how did you enter?" I asked confused
"you're dad let me in before he went out again. and I'm here because we're going to a partyyy" she sang the last part
I shook my head and sat on the couch
"you know how I feel about parties, I don't want to go" I said
she pouted and sat next to me
"please Amelia, we never went to a party before, let's go have some fun and be like other teenagers" she begged giving me puppy eyes
I let out a groan
"okay fine, but I'm not drinking" I said getting up
"we'll see about that" she said getting up too
this is going to be a long night
