I woke up with my phone ringing under my pillow. I see Mandy's name on the screen. I answered it immediately.
"Hey." I murmur
"Em, where are you? Are you coming to school?" Mandy asked
"Shit! I forgot, I just woke up." I panicked
"Babe, calm down. I can tell Mr.Collins your sick today." She chuckled
"Don't we have any exams today?" I asked
"Nope. So your okay!" She said
"Good! Thanks Mandy." I said and smile
"No problem babe. Talk to you later, the girls are in their classes I just tell them your not coming." She said
"Okay! I'm coming home though tonight." I told her
"Okay! See you later babe." She said and hang up
I stand up and take a shower. After showering and changing into comfy clothes I head down. I see my dad drinking a tea.
"Good morning dad!" I greeted and kiss his temple
"Oh, Good morning too darling!" He smile
"Where are they?" I asked and sat beside him
"Sonia is at work, she needs in the clinic so she left early. Your mom and Samantha is in the restaurant busy assisting the customers." Dad explained
"Okay. Ahh dad, I'm going home after lunch. I have classes tomorrow I already skip school today." I informed him
"Is it okay, you skip today?" He asked concern and I nod
After breakfast I spend my last hours with them, helping mom and Samantha in the diner and helping dad to fixed some stuff. Sonia went home early after her shift at the clinic, she's a head nurse there. Its 1 o'clock and I'm ready to go home. I told them to come and visit me sometimes.
"Emerald be careful, okay!" My dad remind me and I nod and hug him
"I'm gonna miss you again little sis!" Sonia chimed
"Me too, but you can come and visit me sometimes!" I smiled to her
"You want us to come there? Thats new." Samantha joke and chuckled I just rolled my eyes.
"Emerald, don't forget to inform us about your trip to london. Your going to be away for a year, so we want to spend more time before you leave." Mom pleaded
"Of course mom! I inform you right away once I got the details." I answered
"Okay! So drive safe." Mom said and hug me
"Bye mom! Bye dad! Bye Sonia! Bye Samantha!" I hug them one by one
"By baby!" They said in unison and I pout they just laught
I climb in my car and I wave to them before I drove away. I'm driving for 5 minutes when my phone ring. Its Eugene.
"Hello?" I said
"Em where are you?!" Eugene asked
"On my way home." I simply said
"Were supposed to talk Em." He said
"Yeah I forgot about that." I lied
"Can we talk before you leave? Please!" He pleaded
"Where?" I asked unsure
"To the court, where we used to play basketball." He said and I can sense his smile
"Okay! I'm not that far. I'll be there in 5." I answered and I hang up
After 5 minutes, I can see the basketball court and I noticed its empty. I climb out my car and walk inside. I can't see any sign of Eugene here. I sat at the gather and look around. I smile and remember the times were here and playing basketball.
Flashback
"If I win, your gonna be my slave for a day." Eugene said and smirk
"Sure! But if I win don't talk to me for a day!" I chuckled
"What!? No! You know I can't do that even its just for a day." He protested
"You'll be fine. You'll survive not hearing my beautiful voice for a day." I smirk
"Fine! Besides I'm sure I'm gonna win!" He said
"Shooot!" I shout and grin to him
We play for 2 hours, and the score is 48-45. The score is in favor of me. I made my victory dance and he just stare at me weirdly. I grin at him and gathered my things, I began to walk away to him.
"Hey, where are you going Em!" He asked and followed me
"I won! So don't talk to me from now on" I answered and grin at him
"Seriously!?" He asked and I nod "Fine!" He pout and I smirk
I began to walk again. I chuckled to myself. Poor boy. Haha its just for a day, he live! Were in this friends with benefits thing for 3 months, after the night he asked me to go on a date with him we became more close. Close as in intimate. For two years of friendship, we never get intimate. Were close but as friends only, we respect each other. But since were dating, we became intimate. We kissed alot, I made the first move most of the time. Haha he's a good kisser. I stop with my thinking when I reached our house. I spend the whole day watching movies and eating alot. Its now pass 11, and I went upstairs to my room. I showered and changed in my pajamas. Were on a vacation thats why I'm home. I prefer to spend my vacation here, because Eugene found out that he got a relative few blocks away in our house. He's parents died in a car accident 3 years ago, so he's basically living alone. One day his uncle visit their old house, his uncle found out that his brother died in a car accident so he looked for Eugene to know if his fine. From that, they keep in touch and visit each other. When Eugene told me that he's uncle invited him to spend time with him he said yes, he convinced me to go home so we can still hang out everyday. So, now were hanging out everyday. I introduced him too to my family. I even told them that were dating. Were inseparable. Ugh! I miss him. I should not made a bet like that. I groan and burried my face to my pillow. Suddenly I heard a loud knock on my window. I slide the curtains and see Eugene climbing a tree and mouthed to open the window. I open it immediately.
"What the hell do you think your doing?" I asked wide eyes
"Hello to you too!" He rolled his eyes
"What now?!" I asked chuckling
"Your bet making me insane!" He said and chuckled
"So?" I smirk
"Can you please go out and meet me down there, I can't stay here all night." He asked and give a puppy eye
"Okay, okay!" I said and laught
I went outside to meet him right away, he's standing beside his car.
"Hey!" I called him
"Hey, come I want to show you something." He said and tug me inside the car
"Wait, where are we going? Can't you see I'm on my pajamas?" I said pointing to myself
"I'm not blind Em I can see you." He said and rolled his eyes
"So where are we going?" I asked annoyed
"You'll see." He said and grin
We drive around for 15 minutes and stop to a small flat, but its beautiful outside.
"Who's house is that?" I asked curious
"Come on, you'll find out." He said grinning
We went inside and I noticed no one is here. I noticed theres no furnitures too, its empty. I furrowed my brows and look at him.
"You like it?" He asked smiling
"Yeah looks cool." I said "I like the furnitures too." I joke chuckling
"Ahh, sorry about that. I haven't buy a furnitures yet." He nervously chuckled
"What do you mean?" I questioned
"I bought this place a few weeks ago. I bought it so we have our place." He said smiling
"Oh!" All I said I'm speechless
"We can stay the night if you want to!?" He suggest
"Sure! It looks cool in here." I said and wandered around
"Check the bedroom, I'll be back." He said and kiss my temple
I went upstairs and see a 2 room and 1 bathroom. I went inside the biggest room. After couple of minutes I heard Eugene's footsteps. He's carrying a 2 blanket and 2 pillows.
"You came prepared." I teased
"Yeah, I know you can't sleep well in the floor." He said smiling
We lay down for a while just feeling each others breathing. I feel safe in his arms. I quite like this position, he's holding me tight in his strong arms.
"I can live like this forever." He murmurs
"Not me." I joke and he laught I stared at him and peck his lips and he pout
"What?" I smirk
"I really want to work things out between us." He said sincerely
"Yeah, I like that too." I said back and he kiss me. We shared a very passionate kiss. Its not the usual kiss we've shared its different. I pull out and look into his eyes, I can see needs and lust. I kiss him again and smile between kisses. He wants me and I want him too. The kiss become more heated and his arms wandered inside my shirt. I let my hands touched his chest, arms and his hair. He pull away and look at me again asking for my approval.
"I want to do it." I said smiling
"You sure, I can wait." He said
"I'm sure." I murmur and he smile
"I'll be gentle Em, tell me if you want me to stop okay?" He said and I nod
He kissed my temple first before he claim my lips again. Its the night I lost my virginity to him. Its amazing, though I have nothing to compare to it. I feel great after. I smiled and let myself sleep with someone I fully trust.
I feel a tap on my shoulder stopping me from my thinking. I looked up and see Eugene with a worried expression.
"Sorry I'm late. Mina and I had an argument so I came late. Sorry." He explained
"No! Its fine." I smile weakly
"I have something important to tell you Emerald." He said seriously
"O-okay. What is it?" I asked
"Its Mina's fault. She's the one gave you the letter." He said ashamed
I gasped to my shockness. I knew it, she's a bitch! But why? What's up with her? I'm confuesd.
"Why she do that?" I asked disgustedly
"I don't know. She didn't tell me. I mentioned the letter to her last night and she's acting weird. Then this morning she get mad when I told her I'm going to hang out with you." He said tired
"What's up with her? I don't know she's capable of doing that. I spend my whole year being mad at you." I laught bitterly
"We can start again." He said smiling
"Let me think about it." I smirk and he shake his head laughting
"You want to play?" He asked and look at the ring
"I can't I need to go home now." I said sadly
"Alright. Maybe next time." He said
"Okay, be ready to beat your ass again." I chuckled
"Because I let you win!" He whine
"Sure!" I grin and he pout
"Your going now?" He asked sadly
"Yeah. Maybe I'll see you sometimes." I said
"Of course! I'm looking forward to that." He said excitedly
He walked me out to my car. Were both silent on the way. He grab my hand and entertwined it to his. I want to protest but I just let it go.
"I'll see you soon Em." He said sadly and kissing my knuckles and I nod
"Goodbye Eugene." I said and kiss his cheeks
"Be careful beautiful." He said smiling
"Thanks! Handsome." I wink at him and he grin
I climb inside my car and I drove away from him. I smiled and feel contented. Finally, were okay now. I don't feel any extra baggage now in me. It feels good to clear things out, its the closure I need. I can say I fully moved on now. Maybe I just thought that I loved him because he gaved me so much care and love before. I maybe loved him but in a friendly way I guess. I'm just too caught up being upset about the letter I thought he send me, being upset gives me more idea that I'm broken hearted that I trully loved him. But I guess wrong, I'm upset because I lost a best friend. I'm upset because someone get into our way. Were supposed to be friends no matter what, thats what we promised to each other. I sighed heavilly.
I got home around 6pm. I see my friends on the couch watching movies.
"Hi girls!" I smiled broadley
"Em!" They shouted and run towards me
"I feel loved." I laught
"How are you babe?" Katy asked smiling
"I'm good!" I aswered happily
"Is everything went well with, you know?" Jen asked
"His name is Eugene babe." I smirk
"Were in first name now?" Joan smirk
"Yeah, and we talked." I chuckled
"So?" Mandy asked
I told them everything happened back home. From the awkward dinner we've shared till the confessions about the letter that break us apart and it happens to be Mina's fault.
"Maybe she's jealous babe?" Mandy asked
"I don't know she's a bitch!?" Jen said
"She's evil, thanks god she's not in our school anymore!" Joan said disgustedly
"Oh! And I bumped into her one time in the shop there. She's acting like she's happy to see me." I chuckled
"Faking bitch." Katy murmur
"She don't deserved Eugene." Mandy said
"So, now you both okay?" Katy asked
"Yeah, were okay now. He wants us to start a new friendship." I said
"Like fuck buddy's again?" Mandy smirk
"No! Not like that. And besides I don't know if I ever loved him? I think I just tricked by my own feelings. I'm confused to our situation. You know I hate commitments, so when things get deeper I thought I loved him. But the truth is I'm just too attached to him." I admitted honestly
"Wow! You mean you wasted your year by being heartbroken for nothing?" Joan asked not believing
"Exactly." I snort feeling stupid
"You can't take it back now. So, from now on you should have fun again!" Jen suggest
"Thats what I'm planning too!" I grin
The next days I feel alive again. I found myself socializing and going out more with my friends. Few weeks after I got the details about my contract at SYCO INC., I'm very excited about it! I will be in london next month. Yessss! The day after our graduation is my flight going to london. I already informed my family about it and they are all coming to my graduation to atleast spend the day with me before I'll be gone for a year.
Eugene is coming too. Were friends again, not friends like we used to be but were trying to build a friendship again. We talked throught phones and we even exchanged messages so we can still updated to each other. He told me once that his relationship with Mina is being rocky now, they argue alot. They living together now for almost a year, they live in the same flat where Eugene and I had our first night together. When his uncle diagnosed with a lung cancer last year, he talked to Eugene if he can live with them to help them managed a family business. Thats why Eugene moved in there, thats the time we haven't see each other for a month. He dropped out school and became busy managing his uncle's business. And I became busy too in school and working in a fast food where Joan is working now. After a month of not seeing Eugene, I came into conclusion that I love him. When I'm about to tell him he already confess that he's dating Mina now. At first it really hurts. Its my first time to feel rejected so it wounds me. I avoid everyone. But its in the past now. I'm happy and excited to what will happen to me on my journey in london. I'm about to meet and greet my idols. I'm gonna see the man in my dreams, the one who give light in me. The one that inspires me. He's my hope, my lucky charm. :)
