I'm quite proud of the chapter's name.
A) It's the name of one of her unreleased songs.
B) Ten dollars. You'll see. And he does have a six pack.
So many italics in this chapter.
I grab my bike, ready to go home for a much needed shower and a few calming episodes of Add's anime. She's already sitting on her bike when she points at someone behind me.
"Hey," I hear the biggest jerk in the entire galaxy say.
"Who's that?" Add is obviously surprised by his good looks. Don't let him fool you with his sexy abs, Adrianne. He's an idiot.
"The blonde one. Simon and Ethan's friend. The one who expects I'll have sex with him despite the fact that he's not even polite enough to introduce himself first," I say. I don't even bother to turn around.
"I'm Thane," he says. That makes me finally look at him. I raise my brows expecting him to say some more. He does.
"I'm sorry for being so rude to you. Your charm was sweeping me off my feet so I could barely say anything."
Adrianne makes a sceptical face. She knows exactly what he said to me. I told her. A direct quotation.
"Yeah, I totally believe you. That's why you didn't even give me the chance to show the charm you're going on about and started looking at my boobs and making dirty suggestions. The last time a guy said 'I could show you incredible things' I ended up nearly getting raped," I snapped.
"Let's make a little bet," he smiles and it's not a nice smile, it's more on the cold and arrogant side. "By the end of this summer I would be kissing those little boobies of yours. In my car. With my fingers deep inside your soaking wet private womanly parts. If I don't manage to do it, I'll give you ten dollars."
We both look at him with utter disgust.
"Pervert. As if that's gonna happen. Anyway, deal. I never say no to free money," I grin at him. He lets out a nasty laugh, turns around and walks away.
"Unless you learn how to say goodbye, you'll be a virgin forever," I shout at him. No reaction at all, he just floats away ignoring me. Either that or he's deaf.
"What a moron," Adrianne sighs.
"Tell me about that."

We're in my room, preparing for a fun night. I still can't believe that my overprotective daddy has actually given me permission to stay out till midnight.
"If Dad met him, I'm pretty sure Thane would strongly regret ever talking to me. The same goes for Simon, Ethan and basically every guy older than fifteen who dares to look at me," I say.
"I know exactly what you're talking about. Where are we going?"
"To the beach. There are bars, boys and clubs and if I'm super lucky, I might even bump into Simon."
"Talking about the Happy Mango Trio, do you think Kelly would be upset if I dated her little brother?" Add asks in the middle of putting on eyeliner.
"Dunno. But my favourite from the HMT is Simon. I think I already love that guy. He's literally the sexiest person I've ever seen."
"Ethan is cuter," she argues.
"They're both cuter than Thane. I think we can agree on this," I sigh.
"That's actually quite funny. Ethan is cuter than Thane," Add smirks. "Ethan and Thane. Ethan. Thane. Ethan. Thane. You got it? And look what you get when you write 'Thane' like that." She's shaking with laughter. I look at the piece of paper.

"What's so funny about this?"
"I don't know."
That's the Add I know. She's always been like this, laughing randomly at what seemed like stupid crap to everyone but her.
"When I get drunk enough, you'll have to explain it to me," I warn her. "And don't laugh too hard. We don't want you crying and smudging all of that eyeliner."
She starts to laugh even harder.

We arrive at the beach. There's a lot of night life in this town. It's actually the main reason why I kept encouraging my parents to choose this house. The other one was larger, but it was in a little village. The average age of the people there was 60.
"What are they playing?" Add asks and I notice the loud music playing somewhere at the beach.
"OH MY GOSH! They're playing my favourite song! RUN FOR IT!!" I scream as I hear the first four tones of I Know Places.
Add tries to stop me but I'm already running. I follow the music. When I get there, my jaw drops.
"OH MY FREAKING GOD! THEY'RE PLAYING 1989 TONIGHT!" I totally freak out. "I love this town!"
"What is 1989?" she asks, panting heavily as she's not really the athletic type.
"Taylor Swift's new album. And it's great. Listen!"

"You and your Taylor Swift obsession," she smirks. We look at each other.
"We're so hot," she says.
"I think the same. Let's go," I answer.
We hurry on the floor. I start singing along to the song. Both me and Add are quite good singers.
"I don't know the lyrics. Actually I don't know the song either," she tells me, "but I like it."
"I guess I'll have to introduce you into the world of the best music on Earth," I laugh. I have to shout because the music and the crowd are too loud. I send her the whole album and we continue shaking it off. "I've never imagined this in my wildest dreams! This town is good, this town is bad... And we get to shake it off till midnight!" I laugh at Add who doesn't get it at all. That makes me continue. "So I heard you are in love. It feels like we found Wonderland, doesn't it?" I'm laughing like mad by this time. When I see Adrianne's confused face, I laugh so much my stomach hurts.
"Can someone explain this to me?" she looks at the crowd of Taylor Swift fans. A small brown-haired girl is laughing just as much as I am. I can see tears in her eyes.
"Nope," she tries to hold in the laughter, "I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake!" I give her a high five.
"What's your name?" I ask.
"Have you got a blank space? Are you gonna write it?" she stares at me suspiciously.
"N-no," I manage to answer through my laughing.
"I'm Lena," she smiles. "Nice to meet you."
"Where you been?"
"I'm not really sure if I could show you incredible things. Maybe madness. No magic, sorry. And heaven and sin? Sorry, I don't do drugs."
"Saw you there and I thought... Well, I didn't think anything interesting because I was too busy trying to catch my fucking breath."
"Hope you won't be my next mistake. At least you don't look like one."
"Glad to hear that. I'm Caroline, call me Carrie. The lyrics don't fit anymore. Well, unless we're lesbians who wanna play the game of love."
"And then there's new money, suit and tie. That's also a bit off," she admits. "But you seem like a fun person. I haven't seen you around, do you go to Appletown High?"
"Nope. Not yet. I've just moved here."
She laughs. Her hair is dark brown and she has light turquoise eyes. She's really tiny. She's even smaller than Add. I think she can wear children's clothes.
"Will that be your first or second year?"
"Second because I have good grades, what about you?" I ask.
"The same. But enough talking about school. Introduce your friend!"
"I can actually speak," Add grins at her. "That's what human beings usually do."
Add introduces herself and then we just shake, shake, shake, shake, shake. And eat. And drink. And bump into people.
And end of chapter because it's getting too long.
