"So, I push these buttons and it will call you?" Michael looked up to Ana from the kitchen table, eyes confused as he studied the machine in his hand. After their make up session, he had taken her out on the town to make up for the bruising on her backside. He took extreme precautions, but Ana didn't complain. She was just happy they were okay again. And on the plus side, she was thrilled they had found something new to spice up their sex life, even if she couldn't sit for hours on end.

"Yes." She nodded over his shoulder, pointing to the screen.

He had gotten himself a phone, well, stolen it actually. He figured if him and Ana were to ever be separated, he would have to get over his revolting disgust toward technology if he wouldn't to stay in touch with her. He watched her set it up in amazement, following along with her words as she explained to him how to work it. And it really didn't take all that long, considering her and Miriam were the only two contacts he had. "Or if you want to text, you just click on these little letters to spell out a sentence." She placed a hand on the back of his neck.

"What if I misspell something?" He glanced at her.

"Then you click this little x button to erase it." She smirked, kissing his temple. "You play around with it for a minute, I'm gonna go feed Sheldon." He swallowed as he watched her disappear up the stairs, almost nervous she had left him alone with it.

"Hey, bud." She smiled, gently tapping on Sheldon's tank with her ring finger. When he had presented the red ring to her, she knew it had to be expensive. But given he stole everything when they were out, she assumed he had done no different. "I've been neglecting you, sorry about that." She got down on her knees, sprinkling a few fish pellets into the tank. "I'd like to keep you in Michael's room, but I don't think he likes you very much."

She chuckled as her phone beeped in her pocket, and she pulled it out to reveal Michael's name.

Michael- 2:17 p.m

Hello.

She laughed to herself at the simplicity of it, the idea of him down in the kitchen texting her suddenly amusing. It beeped again, causing her to look down.

Michael- 2:18 p.m

Hello.

Then again.

Michael- 2:18 p.m

Why aren't you answering?

She rolled her eyes as she went to type a response, but his answers kept flying through.

Michael- 2:19 p.m

Has something happened?

"Oh, good grief." She shook her head, standing up and heading out off her room. They almost crashed in together when rounding the counter, his phone tightly grasped in his hand as he breathed out in relief. "You didn't answer." He stated, glancing down at her phone.

She chuckled, leaning against the wall. "I was feeding Sheldon, Michael."

"Doesn't matter."

Rolling her eyes, she opened up his messages and typed a simple hello back, grinning up to him. "Happy?"

"Yes." He nodded. "But I don't like the picture in the screen." He complained, pulling her away from the wall to show her.

Ana released an airy laugh, shaking her head. "Oh, you mean your lock screen?" She didn't blame him, because it was quite ugly. A kitten in a basket, how boring.

He nodded slightly, still confused by her words. "How do I get it off?"

She took the phone from his hands, switching to the camera app as she lifted it above them. "Smile." Her teeth shone proudly, but she had given him no time to prepare before the bright flash of the camera burned his eyes.

"What the fuck was that?" He backed away, ready to attack the rectangular box.

"Relax, Michael." She pulled him back. "It's just taking our picture. You're gonna have me on your lock screen, not some fucking kitten."

He stood by her side awkwardly, a not so graceful smile etching across his face. She clicked the button, the flash going off again as he blinked. "Michael, you look like your in pain." She scoffed, showing him the picture of themselves.

He cringed at the photo, grabbing it from her hands and muttering curse words under his breath. And for the next hour, he dragged her around the house, trying to find the perfect spot to take a picture. Either it was too dark, too light or that his hair didn't look good. He used his tall arm to hold it above them, and Ana's teeth were practically falling out of her mouth from how sore her jaw was.

Eventually, he got one too his liking, and he proudly showed it to Miriam when she arrived back from grocery shopping.

It was unbelievable how his behavior could change with a flip off a switch. At times, he could be predatorily dominating, almost scary. And others, he would act like a kid. Sometimes she wondered if he had undiagnosed bi-polar.

"We have two days until your interview, Michael." Miriam reminded as they all sat around the dinner table. She had stopped and gotten a peach pie from Ana's old workplace, making Michael's day even better.

He muttered a quick okay, and the women watched as he lifted his phone above his piece of pie and snapped a picture off it. They both bit their lips to keep from laughing aloud, not wanting to sour his good mood. "I missed this." He sighed in content as he took a bite. "I'm half tempted to send you back to work." He sent a smirk her way, causing Ana to amusedly roll her eyes.

"Anastasia, I'll be going clothes shopping for you tomorrow. If there's anything else you need, feel free to write it down on a list." Miriam called out, taking a sip of her red one.

"Miriam, you don't have to do that." The girl shook her head, a polite smile on her face. "I have plenty off things to wear. Besides, who am I going to impress? No one will know I'm there anyways." She shrugged her shoulders, causing the woman to nod.

"True." She agreed. "But you can never have enough clothes."

Ana went to respond, but Michael shoved his phone in her face. "Smile." He grinned, the flash bright in her face as she cringed.

"Fucking-" She sighed as she grabbed his phone, placing it on the opposite end off the table. "No phones at the dinner table." She blinked, returning to Miriam as he grumbled and went back to his pie.

"Well, I don't need clothes." Ana began, folding her hands beneath her. "But I'd appreciate it if you could feed Sheldon for me while I'm gone. He get's lonely up in that room. Maybe try talking to him some."

Miriam's eyes narrowed. "Talk to a fish?"

Michael looked up, shaking his head in disbelief. "Barbaric, isn't it?"

                                         ~~~
"Well, I think you should just dump his ass, Beth." Ana admitted, breathing out a puff off smoke into the night air. "He sounds like a total dick."
"He is." The girl replied. "But what if he's the one? What if I never find love?"
She was beginning to remind the girl of Jacky and her hopeless romantics. She adjusted the jacket on herself, glancing behind her as Michael stepped outside through the sliding doors.
"I can promise you he isn't the one." She rolled her eyes, sending Michael a death glare when he snatched her cigarette and put it out on the railing.
"But I'm afraid I might be pregnant. We didn't use birth control last night." Her voice panicked.
Ana didn't see it, but Michael's eyes widened slightly upon hearing the girl's words. Oh, dear God. His mind flashed back to the conversation with Jasper, remembering all the words he told him and new information that completely rocked his world. But most specifically, birth control. There were different types, but condoms were usually the most common. And he even remembered stealing a box once, but they had yet to open them. He gulped as he fought off the feeling of fainting, gripping the railing.
He felt unbelievable stupid. It was hard to think of birth control while he was in the middle of fucking her, too caught up in his own demanding lust.
"For shit's sake." Ana sighed, turning around to lean back. "Well, don't freak out. It's not always a definite pregnancy if you don't use birth control."
"If I am, then I'll be pissed. The bastard didn't even make me cum."
Ana snorted while Michael cringed, his face full of worry as he glanced down at her belly. Surely, there wasn't a baby in there.
"Just take a few pregnancy tests, okay? Try jumping up and down or doing cartwheels. Hell, I don't know." She rushed, side glancing Michael who looked extremely pale.
"Will do. I don't know if I even want a baby. I'm only seventeen."
"You're getting ahead of yourself." Ana yawned. "Just take the damn tests and get back to me, k? If I need to take you to plan parenthood or something I will." She crossed her arms, slightly embarrassed Michael had to hear her kindness toward Beth. She didn't even understand it herself.
"Alright. Thanks, Ana. I really appreciate it."
"Yeah, yeah." She sighed. "Bye." She quickly ended the call, not giving the girl a chance to bid a farewell. She turned to look at Michael, narrowing her eyes as he stared at her stomach.
"What's wrong with you?" She questioned.
He gulped audibly, his eyes going to hers as he felt sick. "Are you...we didn't— Ana, are you pregnant?" He stuttered, eyes wide and face red.
"What?" Her eyes bulged out off her skull. "I was talking to Beth, Michael."
He nodded. "Yes, I know that. But are you pregnant?"
He was scaring her, and she tightened the jacket around herself as she shook her head. "No. Why the hell are you asking?"
She couldn't be that mad, could she? After all, she also failed to bring the subject of birth control up. "We've not been using anything." He choked, cold wind cooling his burning face. "During sex. We've not used anything."
Oh, her face fell, finally understanding his meaning. She had never talked to him about it before, her lack of infertility. Frankly, she just didn't think it was necessary, and she doubted the antichrist saw children in his future, nor did she want any for herself. Before, maybe. But Ana was a lot different then. His eyes were fixated on her stomach, making her grow nervous.
"Stop." She snapped her fingers, causing him to avert his eyes back to hers. "Yeah, it doesn't matter." She quickly rushed. "I can't get pregnant."
Over the time she knew Michael, her periods completely stopped. Not that he was adding to her stress, but a lot of things had happened in that time. She was officially dry as a well. She crossed her arms and leaned back into the railing, keeping her stare on him as he took in her information.
"Oh." He breathed out, his shoulders un-tensing. "How do you know?"
She didn't particularly want to have the conversation. She wasn't even sure if Michael knew what a period was, truth be told. "I just can't." She shrugged her shoulders. The subject used to bother her, now she hardly felt a thing. "My body was always off track when I was younger, just never seemed to be able to balance itself out." She licked her lips, watching as emotions flickered across his face.
He was slightly confused, but he was able to catch her meaning. He also felt somewhat guilty too, his mind practically celebrating the fact that she couldn't get pregnant. He hated the idea of children. He found them unreasonably loud, rude and incredibly boring. But of course, if she were to ever desire one, he would grant her it. Her needs were always above his. Still, he didn't need some crying toddler attached to his hip while he ended the world.
"Does it bother you?" He asked, gaining her attention. He moved to stand closer to her, their shoulders brushing together.
"No." She answered plainly. "Even if I did want one, I'd probably screw it up. Parenting has never been an a game skill in my family." She scoffed, crossing her legs.
He sighed as he watched her, feeling conflicted. On one hand, he was relieved that there would be no surprises brewing in her stomach down the line. But he also didn't like the idea of her not having the choice of something. She didn't want any, so it wasn't that big of a deal. But what if those suppressed feelings resurfaced and she did want one? The idea of her not being able to have what she wanted was heartbreaking.
He didn't know what to say, so he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her in to give her a kiss on the temple. "I'm sorry."
She relaxed into him, her hand coming up to wrap around his stomach. "Don't be. There isn't anything to be sorry about."
He looked down at her, holding her tighter. "Still. I'm sorry."
"So, what will it be like there?" Ana looked across the room. They were packing up a few things in her bedroom for Hawthorne, Michael messily tossing objects in her suitcases as Ana chastised him for it.
"Boring, no doubt." He grumbled, re-folding clothes that she demanded he fixed. "And filled with a bunch of pubescent teenage boys. They can't even begin to grasp the concept of magic."
Ana raised her brows. "Damn. We've not even moved in yet."
"I just wish you didn't have to readjust to things again." He sighed, tossing a t-shirt in the case. "I can live amongst them all fine, but I just don't want you to be miserable."
"And I won't be." She assured him, packing her books away. "I told you, where you go, I go. Why can't you grasp that in that thick head of yours?"
He snickered behind her. "Fine, then. You can pack your own bags." He smirked, collapsing on her bed and turning on his side to look at her.
"I'd rather." She gave him the finger. "You don't it properly anyway."
He laughed aloud in amusement, his eyes focusing on the lit fish tank in the dark room. "It might be fun." Ana spoke again. "In a way, I'll kind of have the place to myself, considering they won't know that I'm there."
He nodded, narrowing his eyes. "I suppose you're right, but don't get cocky. I told you before, there's going to be rules."
She rolled her eyes to the side, parting her lips to speak.
"Don't give me that look." He raised his chin as he smirked. "It's for your protection, Ana. We've all got a part to play. Yours, is staying undetected." He nodded.
Sighing, she shook her head as she stood up. "Yes, sir." She smiled playfully, hopping on top off him as they both laughed.
He readjusted himself so he was leaning against the headboard, Ana straddling him as she laid her hands on his chest. "So, how exactly am I going to be..undetected?"
His ring covered hands covered hers as he looked up to her. "A spell, and with the help of my magic. I'll be able to see you, touch you. But to everyone else, it'll be as if you were never born."
She chuckled nervously. "Wow, that's intense. And how do you reverse it?"
"Not telling." He smirked. "Wouldn't want to risk you being a flight risk again." His hand moved to give her a hard slap on the ass, and she yelped as she jolted on top of him.
"Fuck, that still hurts." She complained, sending him an annoyed glare.
He gave her a sadistic curl of his lips, and he settled back into her pillow. "Glad you were able to grasp my message in that thick head of yours."
She groaned at the small sting he had given her, her face flushing red at the memory of the day prior.
"And since when have you been talking to Beth?" He asked, glancing up at her as he held her hips.
"Oh, she's just been lonely." She brushed off, playing with the blonde waves that framed his face. "I don't know why I even care. I guess she's like the sister I never wanted or something." She smirked as she leaned down to lay on top of him, her arms linking around his shoulders.
His hand rubbed up and down her back, that was covered with a white t-shirt, her legs intertwining with his as he held her. "Is she going to die?" Her voice spoke up, eyes focused on the blue fish tank.
He paused for a moment, eyes glancing down at her. "Do you want her to?"
She shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. "I don't necessarily want her to die, but I don't think it would bother me if she did."
He nodded, pursing his lips. "I think it would, given you just asked me about it." He stated, causing her to sigh.
"I don't know, I just wandered." She swallowed, cuddling in to his chest. "You said you were going to save some people for repopulation, I couldn't help but wonder who those people may be."
Her curiosity was justified, but he knew she cared for Beth more than she was letting on. Which was something he couldn't understand, considering the amount of trouble she had caused her in the work place.
After a few quiet moments, she yawned. "I'm tired."
He gave a small smile, readjusting his hold on her. "Then go to sleep."
"What if I have nightmares?" Her voice was small, laced with drowsiness as her eyes closed.
Michael signed, running his hands through her hair as he pressed his lips to the top of her scalp. He muttered something under his breath, a simple spell she couldn't hear due to her tiredness. "You won't." He told her softly, the magic transferring through his lips and into her as he kiss her forehead. "Go to sleep."
Her body relaxed against him, and he coaxed her into slumber while he was left alone with his dark thoughts. It was times like these when he remembered how human she was. Despite the fact she was dating the son of the devil, had murder under her belt and held no regard for human life anymore, she was still, in fact, just a girl.
The witches and warlocks stood no chance against him, but to Ana, they most certainly did. The spell would work, he had no doubt about that. However, he was still worried for her safety and always would be until the end of time.
The room was silent, dark besides the blue shine of her fish tank, making her white shirt practically glow in the dark. Her breathing was steady, her body warm against him. He didn't like it when she slept, because his mind cursed him of thoughts and questions of, what if?
When it was quiet, he was reminded of just how real things were. He was no longer stuck in an abusive house hold with Constance, no longer stumbling around without direction. Ana completed him wholeheartedly, and it absolutely terrified him.
Because he knew if something were to happen to her, he truly wouldn't survive it.
