I was just getting started
after a long, emotional hiatus.
I had finally returned to the living,
had begun to breathe again.
I could feel the blood running
through my once cold veins.
My pulse and heartbeat
as they slowed and gained.
But before I knew it,
I'd been shut down hard.
I had returned to stagnation,
my previous state, short-lived.
Perhaps when this is over,
and the storm has been ridden out,
I'll truly start anew,
begin to bloom, and succeed.
