The girls found their way to the boys house to meet up since they were sticking to their promise over Christmas dinner of meeting up more during term two since they barley all saw each other in term one.
Naomi and Theo hadn't been able to see each other since the incident with Charlie and Cap because Charlie had been glued to Theo's hip since everything. He refused to let the two of them see each other.
Two days.
Two days of nothing.
Naomi hadn't heard much over the last two days from Theo despite her calling and texting for update on how it went with the boys after she had left unwillingly but all she got from Theo was a text saying "I'm sorting it". It was infuriating because she was on edge as she didn't know if one second she was going to be at home and then Drew and Elliott came knocking, shouting at her for sleeping with Theo just as Charlie did. And then she couldn't go round to the boys house as she knew if Charlie caught her there it would turn into another argument and she needed to be on his good side.
So she has no clue how tonight would go.
The twelve of them all sat around the boy's dining room table, sipping on whatever choice of alcohol was, doing pres before they attended a party. Yes a party, finally they had all gotten on the same schedule and managed to attend one together this year.
"How about we play truth or dare?" Daniel suggested as they had been trying to come up with a good drinking game but everything kept on being shut down
"Truth or dare, really?" Liv asked feeling like that game in particular wasn't the best at this current time, especially with the fact that Naomi had come home two days ago shaking as she had told all of the girls about what happened with Charlie
"What are we, in year eight?" Elliott laughed at the suggestion, knowing that truth or dare could only really get sexual if they played it at their age and that was a no since they all saw each other as a big family so it would be weird
"What else is there to do?" Drew pointed out because they had all complaining that they barley saw each other all together and now that they were, there wasn't much to talk about. It felt almost awkward and tense but he couldn't pinpoint why.
"You never know what we may find out tonight, some secrets might get spilled" Charlie smirked, looking over at Naomi and then glancing over at Theo who had his eyes glued to his beer or the table the entire night
Very quickly, Naomi picked up on Charlie's little double meaning and gave him a warning look not to test her patience today. She was pissed off. Her and Theo were going so well and just because he walked in on them he felt the need to make life hard.
She understood he was being protective of her feelings, but she didn't care. She was allowed to do what she wanted.
"Alright, it's agreed truth or dare - Daniel you start since you suggested it" Jack said as Tiana quickly interjected, "Come on, why don't we go to the party early if we're not all up for truth or dare" because she knew truth or dare would end in chaos
"No it's literally eight o'clock, the party will be dead let's just play for a bit" Elliott told her, earning nods from all the boys besides Theo who didn't look happy at all
"Daniel you start" Charlie smiled
Naomi felt Tiana squeeze her hand reassuringly as the game started as she knew this could go either way. "It'll be okay" she whispered as Naomi nodded
The game had been going smoothly, well as smoothly as it could go as far as Naomi could tell because she had zoned out, staring into space the entire time, well until she felt Tiana squeeze her hand again to get her attention.
"Hmm?" She sighed, looking up at the whole table staring at her
"It's your turn" Eliza said as she gave her a small smile, letting her know that if anything was said the girls would back her
Naomi nodded, looking over at Charlie already knowing that he was going to be the one to question her since he had clearly been waiting for the opportunity all night as she couldn't back out or else the whole group would ask why she was acting so odd and didn't want to play.
"Truth or dare, Naomi" Charlie smirked, looking over at Cap who couldn't stop from glancing back and forth between Theo and her.
Truth or dare - shit. Which do I pick? Dare would be easier but what would he have in store for me - but then truth is no better because I'm hiding the truth and I've been drinking so it'll be harder to lie.
"Tr-dare, I choose dare" she clarified, changing her mind last minute
"Hmmm, dare, well let me just think about this one" Charlie laughed, as he wasn't shocked by her answer
"Oh I know" Cap smiled as he whispered into Charlie's ear earning a raised eyebrow but the oh so familiar smirk that meant he was interested, which made Naomi's stomach turn.
"Naomi, I dare you to kiss Elliott" Charlie dared her
"What?" She coughed as it was so unexpected, she thought he'd say Theo to make it clear as day that her and Theo were so accustomed to kissing that it was natural for them to kiss each other, as everyone watched so they could connect the dots that they infact did kiss, and do a lot more, but Elliot... Elliott was different, he was her boy bestfriend, why would she be dared to kiss him?
"Go on, do it - I thought I knew Naomi, back in first year she never backed down from a dare or has she changed?" He questioned, ultimately hinting that she had changed, she'd changed a lot but not in her personality but her choices in life
Looking over at Elliott, who himself didn't seem at all surprised, but if anything saw this dare as normal and wasn't a big deal.
"Come on naomi, let's do this, I mean it's not like we haven't kissed before" Elliott mentioned
And the hat dropped.
Shit, Elliott.
Everyone in the room turned towards Naomi with a shocked expression of raised eyebrows, wondering where and when the hell her and Elliott had gotten together. She didn't care for everyones looks as she searched for the one person's eyes that she needed to look at to ensure that he understood it wasn't like that.
Theo, come on look at me, please.
That's when she saw him briefly close his eyes, a hint of annoyance swirling round in them, with hurt and distrust.
"When?" Was the first thing she heard and it came from his mouth. He wanted answers.
"Guys calm down, we were both drunk, it was literally the first night we all met - literally the day we all moved in. It meant nothing, Naomi pushed me away and we ended up being just friends" Elliott explained as he completely forgot he had even told Cap that him and Naomi had kissed before
"Naomi is this true?" Liv asked, shocked at another secret in the group but also wanted Naomi to speak for herself so that she could talk to Theo without it being obvious
"Yes that's why no one knew because it didn't mean anything" Naomi clarified looking at Theo to show him it was only him, she only liked him
"Alright I think that's enough of this game, let's head to the party" Tiana suggested realising that it had long gone eight o'clock and it was already awkward and no one needed anymore of this game - or for Naomi to kiss Elliott
"Yeah I agree, let's go" Eliza piped up, wanting to get to the party so no one over thought what was going on for Naomi to be dared that
Collectively everyone agreed, downing the rest of their drinks as they grabbed their stuff to go - with the girls being the first ones out of the door and Theo being the very last.
Knowing she couldn't talk to him in person, Naomi unlocked her phone to text Theo
Naomi - Please tell me you believe me. It was nothing, I only like you, I promise
Answer , please answer - come on Theo
Theo - I'm just shocked that's all
Theo - Don't worry baby, I still like you too, you just piss me off sometimes, but remember you're mine
Naomi - Always
Getting to the party was fairly easy as it was just a ten minute walk. As soon as the group entered the house, they were met with the bass of 'Smack that' By Akon. The house was Cap's friend from his course to be exact and he was having a house party - which turned into around a good eighty to one hundred people turning up - but no one was complaining because it was going to be a good night.
It had to be a good night.
Naomi took no time in weaving into the crowded house, entering the main room, with her hand interlocked with Tiana's, who's was interlocked with Liv's and liv's was interlocked with Eliza - guiding them along - away from the boys.
Where the fuck is the alcohol!
Finally getting into the open plan kitchen, they settled at the countertop filled with alcohol and mixers.
"You okay?" Liv shouted over the music to Naomi
"Yeah, I spoke to him - he's okay" she smiled
"Alright, let's get drunk and deal with whatever the hell that was tomorrow" Tiana offered, grabbing a bottle of Captain Morgan's and four cups
"Agreed!" Eliza nodded, backing the shot that Tiana had poured for her
"Oh definitely" Naomi smiled, happy that her girls always had her back
Theo knew to keep a safe distance from Naomi tonight because if he didnt, he'd be all over her - because even though it had only been two days he missed her. But he couldn't chance it. He couldn't chance Charlie seeing him and then getting Drew and Elliott's attention.
He had tried to talk to him, he really had but he wasn't listening and he didn't want to get back to Naomi with nothing so he stayed away and tried his best to make things right.
Sitting on the sofa - Theo got comfortable as he knew he probably wouldn't be moving all night as he had found the perfect spot to keep an eye on Naomi as she danced.
He couldn't help but be hypnotised by her and all her beauty. How she effortless swayed her hips, getting into a line with the girls, dancing on them as they sang the lyrics to 'Meet Me Halfway' by The Black Eye Peas. How her deep navy blue satin dress, hugged her body as she slid her hands over it - moving to the beat of the music. He could never get enough of being able to call her his.
A few times during the night, he had noticed boys putting their hands on her waist, trying to get her to dance but she quickly set the record straight, pushing them away and he was happy. He was happy that even though they hadn't really had a chance to talk - she was truly his.
Looking over at the garden, Theo could see Charlie outside, by himself and he knew this was his chance - he'd consumed a bit of alcohol for confidence of confronting one of his good friends and Charlie had consumed his fair share of alcohol too - making it easier to talk to him.
After several attempts of trying to talk to Charlie over the two days of him finding out about him and Naomi, Theo got up from the sofa and made his way towards him, "Charlie can I talk to you?" He asked
Charlie nodded, following after Theo, further into the back garden of the house - wanting to hear what he had to say and if he could actually convince him now that he was less pissed off about the secret he'd been hiding from him.
"I'm glad that you've finally let me talk, but before you say anything I just need you to shut up and listen to me" Theo stated, knowing that Charlie liked to interrupt when he thought he was right
"I get it. I really do, you're being protective of her, and you have every right to be especially with the way I used to treat her but man... ask me any question about her other than her last name and I'll know it"
"I'll know it because I fucking like her and me and her have been through too much shit for you to have the audacity to keep us apart because of your perception of shit that happened almost a year ago"
"I know her, I really do, like I know her favourite colour is purple and she has a lighter the same colour. I know that she has an older sister who's ten years older than her. I know that she doesn't really like Christmas but she enjoys one part of it which is going round to her nan's house to see all her cousins all together and eat curry goat and fried dumplings. I know that she gets a cheese and bacon flat bread with pancakes for McDonald's breakfast. I know that she gets stressed about work easily and when she does she's rude to just about anyone who bothers her. I know that she hugs herself when she gets nervous and I know that she rarely gives out compliments but when she does - she means it, I know that she-" Theo explained, stressing to Charlie that there was more to him and Naomi than sex. Last names didn't mean shit, they didn't care about that.
"Fucking hell Theo...you're serious about her aren't you?" Charlie sighed, realising that he had been a dick because he was in shock and overreacted because of that being a big secret, and the fact that he didn't want either of them hurt
"Yes so can you please just give us a rest and let me see her without the fear that you're gonna tell Drew and Elliott at any moment because you don't approve" Theo exclaimed, finally feeling like he had gotten through to Charlie, especially after two days of the silent treatment
"Yeah...go on, I didn't really know why I was so pissed I guess it's because i was just so shocked at seeing you two so...well, intimate, and then it was some big secret like that. We were meant to be close and then I didn't even know. We used to talk about everything, man. I just feel like we've just drifted. I also don't want Naomi to get hurt. Shit was bad last year Theo, I mean really bad with Seb" Charlie admitted
"I know, I'm sorry, my feelings were confusing back in first year and I liked her, I really liked her and I didn't know how to express it and then I had to keep it a secret or else you guys would give me shit for liking her since it would of been 'flatcest' and things always get complicated with that - plus I used to be such a dick to her, but I promise I'm not hurting her" Theo apologised, "we also sorted the seb situation out don't worry"
"Okay, okay I won't bother you two" Charlie nodded, knowing he couldn't stand in the way of Theo actually liking a girl for once and him proving it by fighting for Naomi, "I know you're missing her and I know she's missing you, I could see it today"
"Thanks man, I'm gonna chat to her now" Theo smiled going to head inside to grab Naomi and tell her the good news
"Umm I don't think that talk is happening tonight" Charlie laughed
"Why not?" Theo asked looking back at him
"Because Naomi is drunk as hell" Charlie laughed, nodding his head towards the kitchen where Naomi was dancing ontop of the countertop with Liv - singing her lungs out
Smiling at her having a good time, Theo shook his head. "That's my girl alright" he mumbled, as the sight reminded him of the Naomi he knew back in first year. Her wild days when back in freshers week, where no one had a care in the world - she'd usually get up on tables, dancing until she got kicked out of a bar.
"So she's really your girl then?" Charlie asked, surprised that this was real - Theo and Naomi no longer hated each other, they really liked each other. It was going to take time getting used to and he'd have to remember not to say anything dumb infront of Drew or Elliott
"Yep, she likes me, I like her and I'm gonna make it offical soon"
"Shit man, this is serious serious, wow - how could I not have seen it before, it's like that film 'A Walk to Remember' that whole enemies to lovers shit" Charlie exclaimed, earning a confused look from Theo
"You've watched 'A walk to remember', that romance film?" Theo asked
"Yeah! You haven't? Well I mean my ex made me watch it, but it's a good film, well besides the ending, I can't believe she - actually that's a spoiler" Charlie stopped himself before he revealed the ending
"No I have watched it, my sister forced me to as well or else she wouldn't walk me to football training when I was younger but I wouldn't say we're like Landon and Jamie"
"Oh my god yes you are, the whole bad boy who hates the girl and then they fall in love - that's so you and Naomi"
"Oh fuck off" Theo laughed at Charlie, "I still don't see it, but yeah don't get me wrong it's a good film but don't put that ending on us, I'd never that to happen to me and Naomi"
"No of course not" Charlie frowned, realising how despite how good the film was, the ending was enough to make anyone cry, "spliff?" He offered trying to lighten the mood from the sour ending of the film
"Nah I got a match tomorrow, only had two beers and that's all"
"Oh shit yeah your match, good luck man" Charlie smiled sparking the zoot, beginning to talk to Theo like he did back in first year because they hadn't spoken one to one in so long and he'd missed it
