The school bell rings, you sigh in relief.
The students go to recess with their usual groups, while the groupless people stay on their seats and open their bentos
Except you, you just want to get away from everyone. And you know just the place
So you grab your own bento and walk all the way to the boys' bathroom, which is...
Blocked.
Y/n: ...could you please step aside?
???: Oh? You're finally here! - the girl's face lights up - I wanted to thank you for yesterday
Y/n: It was nothing - you reply, not bothering to remember what she's talking about, although you do want to know why she's here, blocking the way - So... What are you doing here? In front of the bathroom, I mean
???: Surely you can tell that I'm blind - she waves her hand in front of her face
Y/n: Yeah I know
???: So as I couldn't ask around for you or anything, I came here and blocked the way hoping you would come and ask me to let you pass, exactly what happened just now
Y/n: Smart move - you sigh - So now that you thanked me already, can you let me pass?
She doesn't move, and throws a question at you instead
???: W-wait! I'll let you pass but first tell me - she blushes shyly - Would you mind coming to lunch with me?
Y/n: I'll think about it - You say, somehow unable to deny - Now excuse me
You walk into the bathroom and pull your bento out from under your jacket
Y/n: *thoughts* Man, why is it so hard to say no?! - you mentally sigh - Now I got her expecting things from me, and that's not fine. Should I stay here and wait for the break to end? Or maybe sneak out?
You stare at yourself in the mirror, thinking about nothing, and not even focusing on yourself, just staring
Two guys walk into the bathroom and stare at you as they walk to the handicapped stall and go in together
You hear the noise of a lighter's metal scraping and soon enough you can smell the faint scent of smoke
Y/n:*thoughts* ...and now the school thugs are smoking - You sneer - Screw this, better lunch with a girl you'll probably never speak to again than letting this junk get in my lungs
You pick up your bento and speed-walk back out, almost bumping onto the girl
Y/n: Come on, let's get outta here
???: You mean to lunch?
Y/n: Of course. Now hurry up
???: Hey-! Can you go slower please?
You stop, and release her wrist you didn't notice you were holding
Y/n: Sure, sorry - You mutter, and look at her to make sure you didn't hurt her
You two walk to the school's front yard, and you take a deep breath of the fresh air, this is definitely better than staying in the bathroom
Except there are people there, but as long they don't bother you or even talk to you, you'll be fine
Seating by a big tree along the school walls you find yourself staring at your food, while she is by your side, but not directly beside you, she's far enough you have to look over your shoulder to see her
???: So... I think we haven't introduced ourselves yet
Y/n: Yeah, I don't remember getting your name
Poka: I'm Poka, and you?
Y/n: Y/n Kamikawa
The conversation dies there, but Poka starts another one
Poka: You don't talk much, is there something bothering you?
Y/n: Don't worry about that, it's just how I am
Poka: And the way you talk...
You brace yourself
Poka: Nevermind, I shouldn't be asking things like that just yet, we've just met after all – She apologizes and hangs her head down
Your phone buzzes, and you fish it out from your pocket
You have 15 unread messages from Hiro
You reply with a 'Sorry, I was busy'
-•-
–It's ok
–What are u so busy with though?
Talking with some1–
Kind of–
–Wow, now that's surprising
–Then u can continue
Nope, let's keep talking–
–Dude u can't keep being like this
Wdym?–
–Keeping other people away
–What if I suddenly vanished?
–What would u do?
–Think about it
-•-
You are midway writing a reply, but then he goes offline, so you erase it and pocket your phone again
You look at Poka again, you'd like to leave her and hope she's better without you, just so you don't have to go though the process of making friends again
But you're not able to
"I just gotta talk to her a little, DON'T get attached" You tell yourself
You sigh and ask a question that's been on your mind for some time
Y/n: Is it just me or there are more bullies than anything in here?
She raises her head a little and tilts to your side
Poka: There must be many nice people here, maybe they're just hiding?
Makes sense, but where, though?
Y/n: Probably? I don't know, I've mostly seen typical thugs and mean-looking girls around here
Poka: You only saw them?
Y/n: Yes, none of them bothered me, well, except for that one time with the paper ball but nothing ever since
Poka: So Mika didn't do anything to you?
Y/n: Who's Mika?
Poka: Do you remember the girl from yesterday? The one you argued with?
You don't remember her very well, as you were still sleepy at the time, the only thing you remember being her blond hair with a bow
Y/n: The blonde one with a blue bow?
Poka:...I don't know
Y/n: Oh right! I'm really sorry I already forgot-
You frantically apologize while admonishing yourself mentally
Poka: You sound so different now! – She laughs – But it's okay, I don't blame you for forgetting about that
You sigh in relief and run your hand on your hair, you're glad she's not too sensitive about those things
Y/n: Thanks – You say as you take a bite of a sandwich you packed on your bento – I'm not really used to talking to people anymore, or even caring about them
You spend the next few minutes chatting about those boring subjects people talk in their first conversations, you don't feel very well talking normally, without any inside jokes or references. it's just so weird doing that again
Your troubled thoughts dissipate once Poka says something that is, at least, unusual
Poka: Would you mind if I touched your face Y/n? – She asks coyly
Y/n:...touch...my face? – you ask confused
Poka: It's just so I can somewhat know how do you look like... – She presses her fingertips together
You stay silent
Poka: It's okay if you don't want to, I'll understand, really. And you could describe your features instead! – She rapidly says, a little flustered too, apparently
Y/n: Okay – You kneel in front of her – Go ahead, I don't mind
She slowly reaches for your neck, so you take her hands and guide them to your cheeks – My face is up here – you say
Poka: You're taller than I thought – she says and then starts sliding her hands along your jawline, you close your eyes as she carresses them with her thumbs – And you have sharp features too...
She glides them down to your mouth and cheeks again
Poka: ...You're hot
You open your eyes again and almost fall backwards from the sudden comment
Poka: Did I say something wrong?
Y/n: N-No, that was just really unexpected
Poka: Is it that bad that your face is all hot? Is it an allergic reaction to something?
Then, you get it, she didn't say you're hot, she actually meant to say you're blushing
Y/n: Nononono, it's nothing, don't worry – You cup your own cheeks in embarrassment – But were you done already?
Poka: Yes, I think that was enough
The school bell tolls, lunchtime is over
Y/n: Guess I have to go now, see ya – you run off nervously

Second chapter... done!
I'm not sure this one was good enough because I may have forgot my writing techniques (I think that's the longest period that I haven't posted anything)
But then again, I'm never sure of anything
Oh, and sorry again for not updating sooner
Anyways, I hope you liked it, see ya in the next chapter!
