"Antheia?" his warm kind voice called out for me, bringing me back to my senses. The bright white ceiling light burned through my eyelids, struggling to flutter my eyes open, i turned to the direction of his voice.

"Antheia! My love what happened?" Liam ran over me to me with such urgency, dropping to his knees by the cold freezing fridge i was leaning against on the floor.

I was a mess, waddling over to the convenience store, i ended up buying a beer, or two. And here i was on the cold hard floor against the fridge, finishing what's left of the can, the alcohol gliding down my throat, all sense of sobriety diminish within me. I was a fucking distraught mess.

The minute i got to the store, i pulled out my phone sluggishly, having purchased a beer and cracking it open, i dialed the first person that popped into my head, feeling the wavering sense of intoxication hit me with each sip.

He cradled my freezing palms, studying my knuckles, his eyes widening, jaws clenched as he shot a look at me, "Who did this to you? where is he?" he demanded, his face following my disoriented one.

"I did that to h-him" i mumbled, squeezing the can within my palms, rage boiling inside me as my mind recalled the events inside my head over and over again like some karmic punishment.

"He did something to cause that? where is he Antheia?" i shook my head, having already forgotten the man's face i ended up disfiguring right after.

"I'm gonna take a nap here"

The burning sensation of tears pooled on my waterline, having no control over it, they glided down my cheeks one after the other.

"No no no Theia" he waved his arms in an attempt to bring my back to my senses.

His expression softened, concern washing over him, "Let's go home"

I don't know how i got here, how it got this bad.

I was falling in and out of sleep, not passing out, i wasn't that fucked. I was tired, i just wanted to get this night out of my head.

The drive back to my apartment was swift, maybe it's because i was falling asleep every five minutes or so, but i didn't even feel the time go by.

The drive was silent, his hands were tightly over the steering wheel, eyes peeled on the road. He looked tense, as if a million thoughts were flooding inside his head.

"Can you walk?" he whispered to me, helping me out of the car. "Y-yirp"

Dear god this is embarrassing

He let out a chuckle, scrunching his face as he realized i have crossed the dumbass border of drunkness. "Let's take those off so you can walk"

gently placing me down on the hood of the car, he bent down to remove my heels. I could feel his warm fingers caress my skin as he removed the strap. He was slow, probably trying to figure out how these heels even worked, letting out a concerned huff as he squinted his eyes to get a better look of the straps.

Holding on to the shoes, he helped me off the car, grabbing me tightly around my waist. Walking patiently alongside me as we entered the apartment.

The darkness of the apartment engulfed us as we entered, nothing but the bright lights of the skyline pouring inside through the glass walls. fuck, i forgot to close the blinds.

He gently placed me on the couch, my head immediately lean back on the headrest as if it were a magnet. I sighed deeply, a cocktail of fatigue, heartbreak, anger swimming inside of me, making me want to curl up into a ball and not face reality.

"Antheia, what happened?" he inquired gently, finding himself seated next to me, he was patient, watching me collect myself, his ocean blue eyes stare with intent.

I exhaled soundly, having to relive what happened all over again, i shut my eyes tight, trying to calm my aching heart.

lifting my head, i turned to look at him, he was sitting closer to me, the warmth of his body radiating off of him, his whole presence was comforting me like a spell.

As i recounted the events of the night, his concerned expression didn't falter, his jaws were clenched, listening to me attentively, he nodded his head to indicate he understood.

Tears glided down my cheeks, sloppily wiping them off my face, ruining my makeup, i slumped my head, trying to catch my breath. "Come here" his arms reached out, cradling me into a hug.

He rested his head atop of mine, his arms wrapped around me like a protective belt, i buried my face in his hard chest. I could feel his gentle breathing, his tender presence making me want to burst out crying, exposing my vulnerable self.

"I wish i- never m-et him" i mumbled within his chest, sniffling.

"Don't say that, that's not true" he corrected me, tightening his grip around my body.

I shook my head, showing that i meant it.

He pulled away, his calming bright blues studying mine, tilting his head, "You wouldn't have met me" he breathed, his brown locks a mess, his shirt was wrinkled. It's as if he dressed in a hurry.

Oh.

"i drank too much" i griped, feeling all of the alcohol sit in my stomach like a boulder.

"I need to-" i shuffled on my seat, abruptly standing, i found myself dizzying, my feet feeling weak. "Where're you going?" questioned Liam, watching me move around like a waddling infant.

"Tight" was all i managed to say, scurrying up the stairs, almost falling on my knees. "Theia wa-"

Having almost pushed myself through the door, i grabbed a t- shirt lying around. I don't know how i struggled to take this dress off with how my senses keep dizzying, my vision unable to capture objects to situate my surroundings. My head was moving too fast, but at least i'm comfy now

"C-can i come in?" he softly knocked on the bedroom door, indicating his presence. "YEAH" i screamed.

my god i'm a mess.

He peeked his head in to make sure things were okay, before walking in to sit on the floor at the end of the bed, facing the large glass walls

The room was dark, the only dim lights of the skyline shining through the glass walls felt enough for me, the coldness of the colossal room making me shudder, the hair on my skin rise as i sat next to Liam.

We were both watching the sky line, how the lights glimmer and how some go off.

Silence loomed over us, nothing but my beating heart ringing in my ears. I felt like collapsing. Maybe this is all a stupid nightmare, I'll wake up the next day and Adam will be there, that everything will be okay. This was all just a painful dream.

"Theia..." Liam's voice trailed off, breaking me from my thoughts, i could see from my peripheral that his bright blues were on me. Staring intently. "Can i ask you something?"

I nodded my head, dragging my gaze to look up to face him.

Pursing his lips, it looked as if his head was filled with thoughts, but couldn't voice himself, he looked conflicted.

"Why?" he paused

"Huh?"

I've seen this expression on his face, but my mind was too fluid to place the details. He looked helpless. "Why didn't we happen? I just- i need some closure-"

I chewed on my bottom lip aggressively, my heart pounding inside my chest like a drum. He shifted his position wherein his whole body was turned to me, waiting for an answer.

"B-because i-m with Adam, i l-love him" i shook my head, was i trying to convince him or myself?

"Is it? is that why?" tilting his head, he narrowed his gaze. His eyes studying me intently, I could feel that he inched closer. The comforting warmth of his body sweep over me.

"What do you mean?"

His gaze fell on the floor, softly shaking his head before looking up to face me, "You never saw me as someone capable Antheia"

My heart sank into the all too familiar pit in my stomach. It was probably 3 or 4 in the morning, the city lights dimming one by one, we were left with incoming darkness, whatever light left to make of each other's faces were the salvaging light of the moon.

His features were complimented by the bright moon light, strands of his hair move animatedly as he spoke, his pink lips parted, "Someone that could make you just as happy, someone that's enough for you"

"That's not true that's-" i tried to argue back, a small yet painful smile formed on his lips, "You were with me a lot more than him, every single day, before he even realized he loved you himself"

He inched backwards, sighing deeply, "I just- i didn't get it"

"Liam it wasn't you, It's not because of you" i swore, finding some sense of sobriety guiding me through this conversation, the cold waft of air blow within the room.

He turned to face me once more, brows furrowing, "Is it?"

He paused, his bright blues studying me.

I nodded intently, his signature smile gracing my presence, exhaling deeply, "Another life then"

Maybe

Maybe in another life, we'd make it work. But not this one.

One hand over the edge of the bed, his brows furrowed. His gaze following my movements, our eyes locked. He looked certain, but at the same time, deeply unsure of himself.

thoughts running through his head, he looked conflicted once more, his bright blues yearning.

My head was dizzying again, fuck i thought i was sobering up.

I could feel the warmth of his body leaning closer, his face just an inch apart from mine, his eyes tracing my lips. I felt his soft breaths.

My heart was pounding deep inside my chest, the darkness within the room not helping my vision place anything in front of me.

The warmth of his fingers caress my cheek, "Adam" i called out, my violently beating hard and dizzying head trying to make sense of my state, i felt the warmth of Liam's fingers pull away, his body recoil backwards.

Uh oh

I abruptly jumped to my feet. "Theia what's wrong?" He called out in urgency.

"I gotta p-"

Running towards the bathroom, i lost all my consciousness.
