"Cause I knew how you was gonna react and I honestly didn't want to lie to you, but I felt bad. She had text my phone wanting to fix shit and I had told her the exact same thing I told you, I care for her, but the love isn't there anymore." He said and I raised my eyebrows
"It doesn't matter, you shouldn't be entertaining your ex if you have a girlfriend-
"I wasn't entertaining her, I was looking out !" He said
"Fuck her ! She did that shit on purpose I could tell by the look on her face." I said and he shook his head
"You chose to be a dumbass go be a dumbass, dumbass." I said and he smacked his teeth
"You deadass have no reason to be questioning my loyalty right now.." he said and I rolled my eyes
"I don't ?" I asked
"You don't, because if you're ere in the same situation I wouldn't question you, cause I know you solid." He said before shaking his head
"I mean, if you feel like you need to you can go through this shit. I'm not gonna sit up and lie to you and you know that." He said before offering his phone and I sighed before taking it.
I read the messages between the two and they were exactly what he said. Dry, and he kept it real with her.
"But I'm sorry, And I do understand why you mad, but at the same time you know good and damn well I wouldn't do anything to hurt you deadass." He said and I nodded
"Sorry for not trusting you, I still do but... block her." I said before handing him back his phone and he raised his eyebrow
"You trust me but you want me to block her..?"
"Mhm, I trust you, not her." I said and he shrugged before coming towards me and I watched as he blocked the contact and un added her from social media
"So we straight ?" He asked and I crossed my arms causing him to sigh.
"Well you can be like that, I'm not going no where though." He smiled and I rolled my eyes causing him to lightly grab my neck and kiss my jawline.
"And you know I'm not doing shit to fuck up what we got." He smiled before I felt my back press against the wall and I looked away
He used his loose hand to slightly turn my head towards him and we made eye contact and I swear I felt him stare into my soul.
I felt my heart rate picked up and I want him.. badly, but I didn't want us to resolve arguments only by sexual shit.
He smiled at me before I felt his hands run down my body and after a minute of him kissing me I finally started kissing back before placing both of my hands on his chest and slightly gripping his shirt.
He easily picked up my body before turning the lock on the door and I looked at him before wrapping my arms around his neck.
"I love you." He told me before looking at me.

Kay-
My phone started ringing and I jumped up exhausted as hell before answering
"Hello?"
"Damn you sound tired mama."
I smiled before looking down like a big ass kid before I felt tears water up in my eyes and kash chuckled. I can't even explain how good it felt to hear his voice again.
"See don't start crying on me." He said and I lightly laughed before wiping my face
"I missed you.." I told him
"Could say the same , but you know gone or alive, I'm always with yo goofy ass." He said and I smacked my teeth before sitting up
"I'm gonna get the girls and we'll be up soon." I told him.
"Nah, I already know you been stressing and you're hearing this from me.. I'm fine, so I want you to get some rest deadass." He said and I sighed
"Okay, but I'll be there in about a hour." I told him and he smacked his teeth
"That ain't no time at all, but ight." He said before we eventually hug up
I didn't want to tell him about the Amya situation, not yet at least. He's been through so much and I was just glad that he was okay.
The door opened and Ary walked in causing me to look at her and she quickly broke eye contact.
"Did you have fun ?" I asked
"Yea." She said before getting ready to walk upstairs and I squinted my eyes at her Causing her to look back
"Did you hear anything back about daddy?" She asked still avoiding eye contact
"He's okay, we're gonna go see him in about a hour." I said and she smiled

It was kyree, and I had no idea on why he still was trying to keep in contact with me
"So you like playing with life.?" I texted back before sitting up and he started calling causing me to sigh
I got up to tell my na but I stopped once I gripped the door knob and stared at the contact.
After a while I sighed before answering
"What ?"
"Stop playing Damn." He said and I rolled my eyes
"I'm getting ready to tell my ma and you know my uncle is already on yo ass right?" I asked
"Nah you don't want me to get hurt foreal.."
"Why wouldn't I ?" I asked before looking out the window
"Because you would've been did that by now.l" he said and I looked at the phone
"Bye Kyree, I'm not meeting you outside and I'm not keeping contact with you either, leave me alone." I told him before getting ready to hang up
"Look I'm sorry about yo paps ight ? But I wasn't going to let shit happen to you and you know that."

"I didn't mean for shit to go down the way it did with us. I was angry at yo paps, he killed my ma, he has a cold ass heart you can't even see that. It fucked my family up, because my pod was fucked up mentally, I didn't even get to live normally, I was forced into that gang shit and I took my anger out on everybody else. When I had switched classes and you were in there I wanted you to feel my anger, I wanted you to experience what I had to experience...but I fell for you, you was the only one pushing me towards music and out the streets, you showed me that I wasn't alone and that there was a way out this shit."
"But Marcus, I knew you still had love for him especially when you would accidentally bring him up and you would always be so damn happy, and I wanted you to feel that way towards me, it started fucking me up once you wouldn't and it threw me back on track, I did retaliate towards yo paps a few times, that night of the party when I had left you at crib ? He explained and I raised my eyebrows

Before he could finished I hung up and I looked at my phone before immediately blocking the contact and looking down.
I'm convinced this nigga had went crazy, I can't say this isn't him because for these past few months I didn't know who I was fucking with, but it was definitely unexpected.
My door opened and My ma walked in before furrowing her eyebrows
"What's wrong ?" She asked
".. nothing, I'm fine." I told her and she tilted her head
"You sure?"
"Positive." I nodded
"Well get dressed we're gonna go see your daddy." She said and I smiled
"So he's okay ?" I asked and she nodded causing me to sigh in relief
That was good to hear, but I know her hearing anything about kyree wouldn't. I can't tell she's just trying to be strong for us, but deep down she's stressing about a lot too...
So I'd rather not be the one to put even more weight on her shoulders.

Once we walked into my daddy's room he was talking to Brian and they both looked back at us before giving us a look and my daddy mumbled something to him before Brian sighed, Anna was also sitting beside him.
"What's wrong ?" My ma asked
"Nothing, just him being hardheaded." Brian said and my daddy mugged him
He looked at us before smiling and slightly sitting up and me and Ary both went over to him before hugging him long and tight and he groaned
"DamnI know y'all punches hurt." He mumbled and I smacked my teeth before we laughed and he and my ma looked at each other before she smiled and came over also.
I loved their love, it was strong, intimate, and the way they trusted each other... it was so different.
Him and Brian looked at each other before my daddy cleared his throat
"Can I talk to mama real quick ?" He asked us and we looked at each other before stepping out with Brian and Anna behind us.
"What were y'all talking about ?" Ary asked and he shook his head
"Nothing serious, wait here." He said before kissing us on the heads and walking off before he began talking on the phone
"What were the talking about ?" J asked Anna and she sighed
"You know I'm not the one to tell nobody business sis I just listen." She chuckled and we laughed with her before I rubbed my head and layed my head against the wall
"And I'm here to listen to you too?" She asked and Ary came over as well

I looked at the two before shaking my head,
"Y'all are never gonna guess who called me.." I said and they looked at me
"Kyree." I answered and they raised their eyebrows
"What ??" Ary asked and Anna sighed
"And said what ?" Anna asked
"He wanted to talk, confessed about being dumb, he um... he confessed about shooting Trey." I said before looking down
"And I don't know what to do, I'm too genuine because I don't want the boy to die I mean he is a damn kid, but still he deserves to pay for what he did.." I said and they sighed
"Girl it's only one thing for you to do" Anna said and I looked at her
"You have to tell my daddy." Anna said and I sighed
"Brian would go crazy, I'm pretty sure he already knows he's alive if he went back to check for kyree and obviously he wasn't there." I said and she shook her head
"Liyah you really don't have a choice..." Ary said
"And you know we not the one to tell yo business so if they ask i don't know... But you need to tell one of them and you need to tell them quick before shit gets worst." Anna said before giving me a serious look and I sighed before looking over at Brian
"I don't want him to get hurt.." I said
"Liyah he-
"I know.. What he did, everybody makes mistakes and he retaliated but I can genuinely tell that it was out of anger. Am I saying I forgive him and I want to be around him ? No, but he doesn't deserve to die that's just wrong I said and Anna put her hands up in surrender
"Talk to her because I can't." She said before walking off and I sighed
Before Ary rolled his eyes
"And now I feel bad for feeling bad." I said and she shook her head
"You're right, you're just too genuine. I see where she's coming from but I also get where you're coming from, when you tell them give it in your perspective." She said and I furrowed my eyebrows
"Like, I understand where you're coming from because if it were Shawn In that position I wouldn't want them to hurt him either, so when you explain ask them how it feel if it was one of them or the one that they love, that would shake it off kind of." She said and I shrugged
" you know daddy don't even care, I know with everything in me as soon as he sees that boy it's over." I said and she sighed before sitting beside me
"Well make him leave."

"Try harder, maybe actually meet with him if you have to and talk with him, maybe he just wants you to actually hear him out I'm pretty sure he knows the consequences of him being near you and he doesn't care so that shows it's deeper then what you actually think." She said and I looked at her
"The last time I met with him he took me, that's just being dumb.." I said and she grabbed my hand
"You know I got yo back sis, if he come with that shit we on it too." She said before we both lightly laughed
Kay-
I rubbed my head before sighing
"It's nothing serious Kay-
"Nothing serious ? You almost died and you're still getting involved into shit you shouldn't even be in." I interrupted
"Who else gon do the shit Kay ? Brian ? He can't do this shit himself and it's clear!" He said and I shook my head
"Brian is a grown man kash, look out for your family, not to homeboy." I said before crossing my arms
"He is family, and it's weird how he was yo brother and now since shit getting real he my homeboy ?" He asked before furrowing his eyebrows at me
"That shit not even cool Kay." He said before we went into silence
"If you solid you never switch up on somebody despite how tough shit gets. That nigga not only went through hell and back for me, but he did that shit for you too, and I swear on my momma when he calls me im on go cause he would do it for me with no hesitation." He said and I looked at him
"Ok." I said and he looked at me
"Ok? And that's all you got to say ?" He asked and I shrugged
"Like I said, Brian is a grown ass man, and you are one too, so think like one." I said before going towards the door and opening it
"Y'all can come in, Brian's gonna take y'all home ight ?" I asked them and they nodded
"Where you going ?" He asked before furrowing his eyebrows
"Business." I said before grabbing my purse and leaving
Brian looked at me before putting his conversation on hold
"Wassup ?" He asked
"On your way home can you drop off the girls ?" I asked and he looked at me
"Why ?" He asked and I shook my head before stopping and sighing
"I just..I got something to handle." I told him and he nodded before letting me go.

I pulled up to Kash's club and I gave the bouncers a look causing them to step to the side
"I want the collectors in the office." I said before continuing to walk in.
It wasn't too packed yet because it wasn't fully night time, but In about a hour it was gonna start filling up so I didn't have time to play around.
I went into kash's office before I opened the safe and began counting what was in it.
The whole conversation with me and kash was about how Brian told kash that he was loosing money and wasn't collecting everything back that he needed. Brian believes it was one of the collectors and kash feared that he was gonna try and take over and catch kash before he catches him or Brian.
After I counted I tilted my head
He was right.... he was over 2k short.
After a minute the collectors walked in and I smiled
"Wassup Kay we haven't seen you in a minute." Daron said and I nodded
"Right, been good ? Everything been smooth ?" J asked before raising my eyebrows and he nodded
"Hell yeah, you know I got y'all." He smiled
"Just you ?" I asked before furrowing my eyebrows
"I mean nah, my boys put in work too." He said before looking at them
"Hm." I said before feeling over the stack and he looked at me
"Be honest 'boys'" I said before doing the finger motion and getting up
"Y'all been collecting too?" I asked And one looked at the other
"I mean technically we collect, Daron counts." One said and me and Daron made eye contact.
"Give us a minute ?" I asked them and they nodded before stepping out
I looked at Daron before raising my eyebrows and slowly approaching him before placing my hand on his chest and sliding it down to the gun in his pocket.
"So if you count.."I started while continuing to grip the gun
"You're the last to touch my money.." I continued before leaning in
"Then you must have my 2k." I said before finally taking the gun out and placing it at his chin and he shook his head
"I just do my job-
"I'm not about to play with you Daron." I interrupted before taking the safety off and he sighed
"You not even about this Kay." He said before I looked in his eyes
I pulled the trigger towards his foot and he fell to the ground before screaming in pain. I put my foot on his side before turning him over on his back and I leaned down to him before shrugging.
"When I come back to my safe in 24 hours, the rest of my my money better be in its place... and then I better not see you around again because the next person to put a bullet in you won't be me and I can promise you it'll be somewhere else." I said before tapping his temple and he looked at me before I put the money in a black duffel bag and continued to walk off only to see the other collectors waiting.
"Get Daron off my floor, he's bleeding all over it." I said before looking down at my nails and I heard them go into the room
I was honestly at the point where I did not give a flying fuck. I was tired, tired of being looked at differently, tired of everybody fucking with me and my family, and tired of this stingy ass city. If this is honestly what they want, they can get it ten times harder.
Liyah-
"You ready ?" Ary asked me and I sighed
"I'm lowkey nervous, what if he's just trying something else this Nigga is actually crazy." I told Ary and she shook her head
"It might not be Liyah, just hear him out... and if all fails you got protection, me and Shawn will be at the end of the street, and Jaylen is on the other.. we got you." She said and I smiled
I got a text from kyree saying he was outside and she nodded before going out the back door and I sighed before slowly walked out towards his car.
"I'm pulling down two houses if that's coo?" He asked and I nodded before watching him pull down and park.
At first we sat in silence, it was weird but it also said so much.
"You have both of yo parents in yo life and you'll never got to experience what it was like loosing one and loosing the other mentally... that shit fucks you up mentally." He said and I looked at him
"On my mom's grave Aaliyah I didn't mean for shit to go down the way it did. My intentions wasn't to take you and get you treated like a slave, my intentions were never to hurt you and they definitely wasn't to tamale you feel what I had to feel."
"But the plan my paps had sounded so good until I actually met and got to know you. I fell in love with how open you were, yo attitude, yo dope girl ambition, yo support towards me and my music, you know you were the only one to support me and make me believe that I have shit other then that street shit." He said and I looked at him.
"And I know you think I'm bullshitting you right now especially when I just lost my only other parent to yo family, but the thing is I never had that nigga in the first place. He was here physically, but mentally he's always been gone and I don't feel shit except for sorry for what you had to experience" he continued and I felt tears water up in my eyes
"Kyree I watched my dad get shot right in front of me. I saw.. bodies falling down left and right, and I had I had my daddy's blood stained in my hands for two days straight." I said and he looked down
"You almost killed my boyfriend over your insecurities and you almost killed my family in the process of it." I said and he shook his head
"Because you don't think that shit pisses me off ? I treated you better then that nigga will ever treat and you can't look me in the face and tell me I didn't make you feel different." He said and I rolled my eyes before looking away
"Kyree you got to go." I said before wiping my face
"I'm not going nowhere Aaliyah."
"Kyree you really don't understand ? Regardless on if I tell them or not, they're gonna find you, and they're gonna kill you I'm just being straight up. I would be lying if I said that you didn't make me feel different but it doesn't always matter about how I feel, you need to go-
"Aaliyah no you don't fucking understand I don't have no where to go." He said before looking in my eyes
"You all I got." He told me and I looked down before shaking my head before getting ready to open the door and he shook his head at me before stopping me and turning me toward him
My eyes were filled with tears and as soon as he pulled me into a hug they immediately started falling.
"I fucked up fucking over you I'll admit to that, but I'm not giving you up." He said before pulling back and wiping my face
We began looking into each others eyes before I felt his lips touch mine and I eventually pulled back before shaking my head
"Leave.. Kyree." I told him before getting out of the car and shutting the door.
I began rubbing my head before walking back and I sighed.
Sometimes... life really does throw the most unexpected turns at you..
