No one's POV
"Let's work in the library where it's peaceful." Taehyung said as they kept on walking side by side in the empty corridor.
"Don't you notice that everything becomes peaceful everytime i pass by?" Jisoo scoffed.
"That happens when i pass by too, Flake- i mean.. Jisoo-ssi. Don't be too high of yourself." Taehyung replied, correcting himself in the middle of the sentence in case someone was hearing.
"I'm not. I just never paid any attention on you, your group or anything else. I didn't and won't even know you if it weren't for this cursed project."
"Correction, Princess. You will know me once you rule your Kingdom." He lowered his voice.
"Probably, but even if i do, i'd never knew we used to be in one class."
"Neither would i." He shrugged. "But if it weren't for this project, i wouldn't know you're a Flake and you wouldn't know i'm a Frost and we wouldn't have planned a big battle to end this all."
Jisoo deeply sighed, "let's not talk about this right now, Taehyung-ssi. We both don't know what this can lead us into."
Taehyung understood what she was talking about. They could attack each other any second and they wouldn't want that.
The two kept quiet until they reached the library.
"Welcome to the library, how can we- oh? Noona!" Junkyu grinned the second he turned to the door and saw his sister.
"What are you doing here?" Jisoo furrowed his eyebrows.
"I was punished to stay at the library for pushing a boy." He sighed.
"You didn't." She shook her head, knowing very well that her brother would never do such a thing.
"There was another boy, he was walking when he accidentally pushed me so i almost fell. In front of me, there was a boy, so when i was about to fall, he was pushed and hit the floor hard while Haruto quickly pulled me so i didn't fall. Unfortunately, a teacher passed by and got the wrong idea so he punished me here."
Jisoo growled and clenched her fists, her eyes slowly turning blue. And that didn't went unoticed by Junkyu and Taehyung.
"Yah, stop!" Junkyu quickly moved forward and shook his sister's arm. "I want to be here! It's quiet and i can at least get away from mrs. Jeon."
Jisoo took few deep breaths before letting out a very small smile, "sorry."
"It's fine." Junkyu smiled, "but you should start practicing to control your anger and emotions."
She shook her head and shrugged.
"Oh hi! You're noona's partner right?" Junkyu noticed Taehyung, who was standing beside Jisoo.
Taehyung nodded, not wanting to cause a fight with the Princess of the Flakes.
"He's your brother?" He turned to Jisoo which she nodded. "So you're the Prince of the Flakes?"
Junkyu had his eyes wide, as wide as he can. His mouth hung open. That was supposed to be a secret between him and his family.
"You'll be ended even before we start anything if you dare do something to him, Frost." Jisoo glared at Taehyung.
"W-what the- You-" he stuttered, looking back at forth at Taehyung and Jisoo.
"I'm a Frost." Taehyung admitted. "Frost Prince Taehyung." He flicked his hand slowly, making frost fly over in front of Junkyu, and Jisoo had to stop it by putting a snowflake in front of it to keep the frost from hitting her brother's face just in case he was pranking them.
"Don't start, Frost." She warned.
"I'm not, Flake." He glared at Jisoo. Junkyu huffed at his sister and snapped his fingers, making her snowflake disappear. He then flicked his fingers to make a small snowflake, wrapping Taehyung's ball of frost as a greeting.
"Woah!" Junkyu grinned. "I never met a Frost before! This is amazing.."
Jisoo sighed, she knew her brother has always wanted to know more about the Frosts, just like Chanyeol. But the thing that's going on between them makes it hard for him to do so.
"Be careful, Junkyu-ah." Told Jisoo.
"You look excited to meet me." Taehyung crossed his arms, looking at the Prince.
"Of course! You're a Frost! Even though you're our enemy back in the Kingdom, any friend of noona is a friend of mine." Junkyu exclaimed happily.
"He's not my friend."
"She's not my friend." They said in sync.
"Frosts and Flakes can never be one." They said again before glaring at each other.
"Whatever you say, future leaders." Junkyu shrugged. "You can get going now."
Taehyung and Jisoo both nodded as they started walking towards a big table at the corner of the library, in between some shelves. They sat in opposite directions, closing their eyes and taking deep breaths to calm themselves down once more, just to be safe.
"So, what are we going to work on?" Jisoo asked once she's calmer.
"I don't know. We're supposed to collaborate two things?" Taehyung reassured.
Jisoo nodded.
Another five minutes of silence. Bored, Jisoo flicked her arms, making a cloud of falling snow, she then spun her hands around and made the ice spin according to her will. She performed a small ice show to kill some time.
Taehyung finally decided to join in. Leaning back on his chair, he snapped his fingers, letting ice frosts flow from his hand in mid air, completing Jisoo's magic. Small gusts of wind filled with snowflakes and balls of snow spun around the table along with the floating frosts. The two flicked their hands upward, making the snowflakes and frosts fly higher towards the ceiling, got together and became one, creating a block of ice shaped like a perfectly round ball with a beautiful sparkling snowflake in it, added by gorgeous detailed patterns made of frosts all around the snowflake.
It was like a gorgeous frozen snow globe made of real ice, snowflake, and frosts. People who sees it in person probably wouldn't believe that what they're seeing is a creation made by two 'normal' students for only 5 minutes. And people of the Ice Realm wouldn't believe this was a magical combination of a snowflake and frost, made directly by the future rulers of the Snowflake Kingdom and the Ice Frost Kingdom who are known for hating each other the most.
The shining ball slowly went down from the ceiling, stopping right in front of the young royals who were both smirking proudly.
"Not bad." Jisoo nodded in approvement.
Taehyung nodded along, once again flicking his hand slowly, pulling the ball closer, "how did this happen?"
"I-"
"I knew i saw blue lights coming from here!" Junkyu whisper-shouted once he saw the culprit. "Don't you know where we are? Students can come at any moment and catch you two! You're lucky everyone's afraid of you. They ran when i told them you were here." He giggled in the end.
Jisoo ruffled her brother's hair.
"Oh my ice! What is this?!" Junkyu's mouth hung open as he slowly walked around the table to Taehyung's side, taking a closer look at the floating ball he's holding.
Again, not wanting to cause any sudden war with the Princess, he made the ball fly closer to Junkyu for him to see better.
"This is amazing!" He smiled. "These frosts are beautiful, hyung!"
"Hyung?" Jisoo and Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows.
"What am i supposed to call you then?" Junkyu asked, diverting his gaze away from the ball for a few moments.
Taehyung shrugged as a respond, telling him that anything was okay.
"That's what i thought." Junkyu giggled. "How did you make this?" He once again paid attention to the ball.
Before anyone could answer, he spoke again, "so this is what happens if you combine snowflakes and frosts. Daebak..."
Taehyung and Jisoo looked at each other, shocked. What the heck did they just do?
Combining their powers, frost and snowflake, becoming one. And it made a beautiful creation. What did they just do?! A Frost and a Flake can never become one.
"This- this is just for our project." Taehyung denied, taking back the ball from Junkyu's hand.
Jisoo hid her shocked expression and nodded, "we better go back."
Taehyung nodded and quickly went away with Jisoo, leaving pouting Junkyu back at the table.
He soon sighed, putting back the chairs to where it was, wiping out drops of water and snow on the table with his own power after making sure no one was looking. "They keep on denying it. What's another excuse for us not to become one?" He mumbled. "Chanyeol hyung, i know you're listening. Even though i'm not going to become the next leader of the Flakes, i promise i'll help our Kingdoms get together just like you always wanted." Junkyu smiled, looking upwards to where the sky was, knowing his brother was also smiling proudly.
Yes, Junkyu still wants the Frosts and Flakes to get back together, just like how Chanyeol wanted to. Unlike Jisoo, Junkyu forgave the Frosts for everything they did, because Junkyu knew that both Kingdoms aren't right, but neither are they wrong. He's been switching his point of view over and over again to see from both sides. He had a big dream, and he knows he's gonna achieve it.
He saw how kids would often cry at night in their mother's arms whenever they heard news their father had passed away during the fight, he saw how babies can't sleep at night, terrified by all the roaring and ice-blasting, he saw how men sacrifices their life for the sake of their Kingdom. And he knows how his sister would blast out every wall of her secret room after hearing more and more damage of the Kingdom. He knows how Jisoo has been longing to get revenge on the Frost Kingdom. And he doesn't want that.
All he wants is peace, joy, happiness, calmness. He's longing for his brother's promise he and his sister never got. He wants to stop all this. But what's the point of stopping the battle if his loved ones can't accept that? That's the main reason he gave up his throne.
Changing the heart of every people in his Kingdom is hard. Some people still sees him as the little boy he is. He knew he couldn't fix his Kingdom. But changing the heart of his sister, that's something he knew he could do.
And now that he knows the next ruler of the Frosts knows them both, he believes he can be one of the person taking part in fulfilling Chanyeol's promise.
All he needs to do is wait for time to slowly open the eyes and hearts of every Frost and Flake, especially Jisoo and Taehyung's.
Because he believes that a Frost and a Flake can be together.
