"𝐏apa why we taking the plane?" Kafeyah asked as they parked in the airport's parking.
The day where they would be visiting Ella finally came, and Kafeyah didn't understand why they had to fly when they could drive.
" You feel like driving all the way ova' thea'?" he asked as he turned the engine off
Kafeyah shook her head no and he chuckled.
" Then you got your answer" he said before leaving the car and coming to her side.
He opened the door for her as she quickly thanked him. They both got their suitcase out the trunk and began walking toward the entrance of the airport.
" Where we gon be staying?" she asked since Zymeir didn't mention no hotel nor AirBnB.
" My grandparents house, they got a room for us" he yawned
" So that means that i'll be meeting your grandparents? Lord i'm nervous" she sighed
" Don't be, they cool i promise" he kissed her temple trying to calm her down.
Once they reached the entrance, they went to look up their flight number and destination on the big board and saw that boarding only started in 3 hours, so they had time to kill.
" What we doing now? We have like a hour and some change to kill" she sighed
" We can go grab sum ta' eat, cause once we pass those metal detectors, food from the outside will be forbidden"
Kafeyah didn't protest and agreed, so they began walking to the nearest mcdonald's so they could find something to snack on.
" Hi and welcome to mcdonald's, what can i get for you today?" the cashier greeted them as soon as they approached the counter.
" Lemme get a uhh- 20pc nuggets with bbq sauce, a small fry and two lemonades"
" Will that be all?" she asked as Zymeir nodded, " That'll be $15.38"
Kafeyah wanted to pay badly but knew that Zymeir will throw a fit if she did, so she stood back and observed the scene.
After Zymeir paid, they went to sit at a table and said their grace before eating. Kafeyah started off with one fry as Zymeir ate two nuggets at once.
" I- meir the food ain't going nowhere" she laughed
" I know, but i'm hungry as a bitch" he chuckled
" Then why you ain't take more to eat?" she asked confused as she ate her second fry.
" Cause' i can't hold a lot of food down when i'm flying" he explained as he was already at his fourth nugget.
" Ohhh okay" she nodded before she took a bite of her third fry.
" How many fries you took?" he asked leaning back in his seat.
" This my third" she smiled proudly
" We makin' progress" he smiled back " Cmon try to eat another one then we can go" he yawned

Kafeyah nodded and ate her last fry before she felt full.
" I'm full papa" she pushed the fries away.
Zymeir nodded and picked their trash up before throwing them in a nearby bin.
" Cmon" he grabbed her hand before leading her to the gate.

" Damn this line long as shit" he complained as they waited to pass the metal detectors.
" I know" she sighed " You think that if i magically fall they gon let us pass first?" she asked with a hint of hope in her tone.
" I- Kafeyah get on somewhere" he laughed
" No, cause i'm so fa' real papa, i hate long lines" she whined
" Hea' you can play games on my phone" he gave it to her—Zymeir knew that Kafeyah was literally a child, and that games would distract her for a bit.

Kafeyah complied and took the phone from him going to the color by numbers app. The both of them found this game very therapeutic and helped them busy themselves for a while.
As Kafeyah was too busy putting the right color on the right number, she didn't feel the line moving and them getting closer to the metal detectors.
Once she was almost done, she felt a light tap on her shoulder and looked up to be met with Zymeir's brown eyes. " Yes papa?" she gave him her full attention.
" It's gon be our turn baby, gimme the phone real quick" he whispered in her ear.
A cold shiver ran down her spine and butterflies formed in her stomach, but she ignored the feeling and gave him the phone back.
After the couple in front of them passed, it was now their turn and Kafeyah had to go first. She was nervous because she hated security people, they were always so rude.
" Jewelry, belts and all electronics in the box please! Keep moving!" this short brown skin lady ordered.
Kafeyah did as told and placed her earrings, rings, necklace, phone and airpods in the box. She then passed the metal detector and sighed in relief once it didn't beep. She got her stuff back and waited for Zymeir to be done.
5 minutes passed and Zymeir still wasn't there, so she decided to get closer and see what happened. When she did she saw Zymeir arguing with one of the security.
" What's going on here?" she asked as she pushed Zymeir back a little and stood in front of him.

Kafeyah busted out laughing and shook her head. " You want me to hold you pants so they won't fall meir?" she asked still laughing a little.
Zymeir sucked his teeth and nodded. He removed his gucci belt and placed it in the box while Kafeyah held the top of his pants so they won't fall. Zymeir kept a mug on his face when passing the metal detector unlike Kafeyah who kept snickering the whole time.

While the both of them passed without any problems, Zymeir got his stuff back and got to finally put his belt back on. " I swear niggas is gay, wanna see my ass cheeks and shit" he mugged the air.
" Zymeir cmon, we bouta be late for boarding" she laughed dragging him to the boarding gates.
They got their passports checked one last time, and finally could get on the plane. " What row we in?" Zymeir asked as they approached the plane.
" Um- 20A for me and 20B for you" she answered as she read their seat numbers on their tickets.
Zymeir nodded and searched the row 20 as they entered the plane. Once they found it, Kafeyah got the seat next to the window while Zymeir sat beside her.
" I'm scared" she admitted as she played with her fingers.
" Scared of what princess?" he asked pulling her in a hug.
" Of the plane papa, i never took it before" she admitted
" You gon be okay mama, ya' ears gon be blocked fa' a minute when we takeoff, and it's gon tingle in ya' lil stomach when we'll land" he tickled her.

" Okay okay! Stop!" she laughed
" Gimme kiss first" he smirked
Kafeyah smacked her lips and pecked his lips five times plus his nose. " That's all you'll get" she innocently smiled at his frowned face.
" Just watch till we get off this plane" he chuckled

" Ouu papa this was so fun! It was like in rollercoasters, it tingled" Zymeir listened to Kafeyah ramble about the flight with a smile on his face.
" Yea?" he asked while he led her to where they would be getting their luggage.
" Yes! We need to do this more often" she nodded as she smiled.
" Whatever you want princess" he kissed her temple as he watched all the suitcases and bags roll on the bagage carousel.

5 minutes later they finally spotted Zymeir's suitcase followed by Kafeyah's.
Kafeyah being the stubborn girl she was, decided to take her suitcase herself while Zymeir took his but failed miserably.
Zymeir chuckled behind her and took hers before kissing her forehead.

After they got both of their suitcases, they began walking toward the exit of the airport where Ella was waiting for them. Kafeyah of course didn't know anything about this because Zymeir wanted to surprise her.
" How we gon get to your grandparents house?" she asked as they stepped outside
" Like that" he pointed at Ella who leaned against a car with a childish grin on her face.
" AHHH MY BABY" she yelled before running to her and jumping in her arms.
" I missed you" she sniffed as she hugged her bestfriend.
" I missed you too babymama" Ella kissed her forehead as she smiled.
" Alright that's enough! Get yo' dirty hands off my baby" Zymeir mugged her
Ella laughed and put Kafeyah to the ground before going to hug her cousin. " I see you treated her well" she smiled at the both of them.
" Duh that's my baby" he wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
" Anyways let's go" she said as she helped them put their suitcases in the trunk.
Zymeir got in the passenger seat while Kafeyah went to the backseat. Ella started up the car and pulled off.
" Can i get the AUX?" Kafeyah asked
" NO!" they both replied
" I- now y'all doing way too much" she mugged the back of their heads.
" Baby weon' feel like listening to no sap ass shit, nor no R&B" Zymeir chuckled
Kafeyah sucked her teeth and crossed her arms while she laid back in her seat.
Zymeir and Ella paid her no mind as Commitment issues by Central Cee started playing.
"I got commitment issues

30 minutes later they pulled up in front of a white two story house that was located in the mid suburbs.
Kafeyah's nervousness soon came and she started feeling her stomach tighten.
Zymeir and Ella soon noticed her changement of mood and sighed. " It's gon be okay Kafeyah, i swear they nice" Ella tried to reassure her
Kafeyah took three deep breaths and nodded. They all got out the car and got their suitcases from the trunk before they began going up the porch steps.
Ella knocked on the door and stepped back waiting for somebody to open it. " Ella for the last time you have a gahdamn ke-ZYMEIR!" their grandmother Cyan rambled before she gasped.
" Oh my baby, come give me hug" she reached up to his tall frame.
Zymeir laughed and bent down before giving her a hug. Kafeyah stood back and watched the scene with a smile plastered on her face.
" Ohh and who's this pretty lady?" she asked pointing at Kafeyah once she broke the hug.
" That's my bestfriend Kafeyah and his girlfriend" Ella chuckled
" Hi, its nice to meet you" Kafeyah smiled as she extended her hand
" Aht aht we hug over here" Cyan slapped her hand away before bringing her in a warm hug.
Kafeyah smiled and hugged her back as Zymeir and Ella watched with a knowing look on their face.
" She like her" they both mouthed to each other.
" Come in, come in" she shoved them in
Kafeyah laughed and rolled her suitcase inside before Zymeir did the same. " ERIK! WE HAVE COMPANY" she hollered before Ella and Zymeir's grandfather Erik was seen going down the stairs.
" Oh my grandson who don't know how to answer a phone" he sarcastically said before bringing Zymeir in a hug.
" My bad bout' that" he chuckled
" And who's this?" he asked smiling pointing at Kafeyah
" That's Ella's bestfriend and Zymeir's girlfriend" Cyan squealed
" So you're the bestfriend i've been hearing about" he glanced at Ella.
" Yes sir" Kafeyah laughed as he pulled her in a hug
" Oh no need for that sweetheart, you can call me Erik" he waved her off.
Kafeyah nodded and looked around awkwardly. " Oh let me show you y'all room" Cyan said before going up the stairs with them following.
" You will be sleeping in Zymeir's old room for when he used to come over here" she said before she opened the white door.
" Damn you haven't redecorated this" he asked looked around as nothing changed a bit.
" Nah, me and your papa were too lazy to do so" she chuckled
Zymeir chuckled and shook his head.
" Well i'll leave y'all two putting y'all stuff up while i go start dinner" she said before leaving and closing the door behind her.
" Aww you were so cute" Kafeyah cooed as she looked at baby pictures of Zymeir.
" Yea gimme that" he took it from her as she laughed.
Kafeyah looked around and smiled, she finally felt at peace.
