Sun rays peeked through the window waking Caroline from her deep slumber. As she tried to orient herself, she felt an unfamiliar weight in her chest, a deep exhaustion that lingered even after a full night's sleep. She stretched her arms, her muscles feeling heavy and unresponsive. Something was off.

As she sat up, a wave of dizziness hit her, making her sway unsteadily. She reached for the edge of the bed, grasping it tightly until the spinning in her head slowed. A creeping sense of unease took hold of her as she looked around the room, her eyes searching for clues to what had happened the night before.

'What the hell happened last night?', she whispered holding her head trying to recall the events of last night.

All she could remember was meeting a cute no scratch that a HOT older guy, a lot of kissing... and his eyes turning bloodshot red with veins popping out... And THE BITE. HE BIT HER! Her hand shot up her neck feeling the bite marks while looking at herself through the mirror in her room. She looked like a mess, with her hair all over the place and dried-up blood on her neck and pillow. Remembering the person next to her, she turned to look at him laying on the right side of her bed. He was still sleeping (or at least she thought he was) still looking VERY HOT.

"Not the time Caroline," she reminded herself.

The blonde's heart was racing as she stared at her reflection in the mirror. She couldn't believe what had happened last night. Meeting the hot older guy had seemed like a dream come true, but now she wasn't so sure. The memory of his eyes turning red and the veins popping out still made her shudder.

She lifted her hand to touch the bite marks on her neck, wincing as she felt the pain. How could she have been so stupid? She knew she shouldn't have let him get so close, but in the moment, she couldn't resist him. Now she was paying the price.

As she turned to look at the man still lying in her bed, she felt a mix of attraction and fear. He looked peaceful, almost innocent, but Caroline knew better than to trust appearances. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about him, something dangerous and otherworldly.

'VAMPIRE', that was all Caroline could whisper.

Honestly, she was freaking out. For once in all her life she meets a boy first before Elena hypnotises them with her Bambi eyes (but she was sure he would eventually get hypnotized as well). Just once and he HAD to be a VAMPIRE. Yes, she knows vampires exist and no she wasn't told by anyone she found out on her own, well kind of.

Caroline first got suspicious ever since her mom started receiving those strange, late-night phone calls from the sheriff's office, the blonde knew something was up.

She had tried to ignore it at first, chalking it up to her mom's job as the Sheriff of their small town. But the more she listened in on those calls, the more she realized that there was something darker at play.

Caroline heard words like "stake," "vervain," and "the Gilbert compass" being thrown around, and she couldn't help but wonder what they meant. But the word that stuck out to her the most was "vampire." It was a word that she had only heard in movies and TV shows, but what did that have to do with her mom. Did her mom start an twilight fan page all of a sudden?

She couldn't resist the urge to do some research of her own. She turned to the internet, typing in each of the words she had heard to learn their meaning. As she read through the search results, she felt a knot form in her stomach.

Initially, she thought that her mom had gone crazy after her divorce from her dad and joined a cult or something, but then her suspicion increased when her dad started to leave with her mom when he used to visit and also the fact that he always had a bag full of hunting gadgets with him. And he was no hunter, he loves animals or at least she thinks he did. Truthfully Caroline doesn't know anymore.

Nonetheless, she decided to ignore all the happenings around her coming to the conclusion that her parents had finally gone mad...that and she had more important things to do, like becoming the cheer captain and leading a bunch of committees. But that was until she met an actual vampire and it was a life-changing experience.

She was in London on a vacation with her dad and his boyfriend. Now that she thinks about it...she was third-wheeling so hard. One morning her dad handed her his credit card (a wrong decision on his part) and said she could go shopping and buy whatever she wanted (again a very wrong decision) as he had "A JOB to take care of" and announced that he would pick her up once he was done.

Caroline couldn't believe her luck when her dad handed her his credit card and told her she could go shopping in London. She had always dreamed of shopping in the fashionable city, and now she had the chance to do just that.

As she walked down the busy streets, Caroline felt a sense of excitement and freedom wash over her. She could buy whatever she wanted, without any restrictions or limits.

But as she wandered through the stores, trying on dresses and shoes, Caroline couldn't help but feel a twinge of loneliness. Her dad and his boyfriend were off doing their own thing, and she was left to explore the city on her own.

As she was giving the phrase shop till you drop a new meaning, the fact that it was already late completely slipped her mind. Well in her defence her dad didn't come to pick her up yet and once she starts to shop, she can't stop.

When she was wandering around, with a caramel latte and a bunch of shopping bags in her hands, she was all of a sudden pulled into a dark and empty ally with a hand covering her mouth preventing her from screaming for help. That day she thought that this was it, she was going to die. She was going to die before miss mystic falls, before getting her first boyfriend, before wearing the cute summer dress she just brought that made her look like an adult.

A million thoughts were going through her head, that was until she saw her captor's face. He was too good-looking for a criminal, he had curled dirty blond hair and dark blue-green eyes that contrasts with his pearl-white skin. She was so mesmerised that she stops struggling in his arms. That was until his face changed into somewhat like a monster, with bloodshot eyes and veins popping out under his eyes.

She struggled against the grip on her, but it was too strong. She felt a cold, clammy hand slide up her arm, and she shuddered. She was trapped, with no one around to help her. All she could do was close her eyes and pray for a miracle.

In the dimly lit alley, the young blonde trembled as her captor leaned in closer, his fangs bared and ready to pierce her flesh. She closed her eyes tightly and braced herself for the inevitable. But as his breath ghosted over her neck, she had started to ramble.

"Please don't kill me," she pleaded, her voice trembling. "I have not even had my first kiss unless you count the spin the bottle in 6th grade with Tyler, or had my first boyfriend. I have not even become Miss Mystic Falls and prom queen yet. Please let me go, I'm sure you will find someone more delicious to eat than me. Please don't kill me, please."

She continued to babble, her mind racing with desperate thoughts as she tried to stall for time. But to her surprise, she heard her captor laughing. He looked highly amused by her rambling, and honestly, she was low-key offended but didn't say anything.

He finally let her go untouched, and she stumbled backwards, still trembling with fear. She couldn't believe that she had managed to talk her way out of being bitten. But as she looked up at her captor, she saw that he was smiling at her.

"It's not often that I come across such an entertaining creature," he said, his voice smooth as velvet. "It would be such a waste to let you die so soon."

She stared at him in confusion, unsure of what to make of his words. Was he toying with her? Was he going to bite her after all?

But then he spoke again, and his words filled her with a strange sense of comfort.

"Rest assured, my dear," he said, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "I have no intention of harming you. You are far too interesting for that."

His voice had sent a shiver down her spine. Not that she was going to ever tell him that. And with that, the mysterious vampire vanished into the darkness in a blink of an eye leaving her alone and shakenher and confused about what just happened, but strangely grateful for her captor's mercy. For even though she had been in the clutches of a vampire, she had come out unscathed, and with a newfound appreciation for the power of words.

When she was finally back from her vacation, she decided that enough is enough she just had to find out the truth and what the hell was going on in Mystic Falls.

The blonde had returned to Mystic Falls with a newfound sense of curiosity and a burning desire to uncover the truth. She was tired of living in ignorance, of going about her life as if nothing was amiss. She wanted to know what was really going on in her town, and she was willing to do whatever it took to find out.

So she started to snoop around in her mom's room, hoping to find some clue that would shed light on the mysterious happenings in Mystic Falls. And that's when she stumbled upon a journal that looked quite old, its pages yellowed with age and its spine cracked with use.

As she flipped through the pages, her heart racing with excitement and fear, she realized that the journal belonged to her mother, and that it contained all sorts of information about the supernatural world. There were detailed accounts of encounters with vampires.

Caroline's hands trembled as she read on, her eyes widening with each passing page. She had no idea that the was home to such powerful beings, and she felt a strange mixture of fascination and terror as she absorbed the information.

But it wasn't just the journal that piqued her curiosity. As she rummaged through her mother's belongings, she also found a collection of hunting gadgets - stakes, crosses, and silver bullets - that were clearly meant for use against the supernatural. And then there was a small bag of some sort of power, which she assumed was vervain, the substance that her mother had been talking about on the phone.

With a sudden jolt of realization, Caroline understood the significance of these findings. Humans were not at the top of the food chain, as she had always assumed. They were mere prey, vulnerable to the whims of creatures who were far more powerful and dangerous than they could ever imagine.

And with that understanding came a newfound sense of purpose. Caroline knew that she couldn't just sit back and do nothing. She had to use the knowledge and tools at her disposal to protect herself and those she loved from the dark forces that lurked in the shadows of Mystic Falls. For she had seen the truth, and she knew that there was no going back.

Now that Caroline finds herself in a sticky situation with a vampire laying next to her, who most likely might kill her once he awakens, all she can think of is getting the hell out of there. She decides to poke his left shoulder to check if he's asleep (later realising that she shouldn't have done that).

She knew that she was in a dangerous situation, and that any wrong move could cost her her life. But she couldn't stay there a moment longer, not with the vampire lying next to her, who could kill her like she was a mere bug.

She had to get out, and fast.

With trembling fingers, Caroline reached for the doorknob, her eyes fixed on the sleeping figure next to her. She couldn't tell if he was truly asleep or just pretending, but she didn't dare take any chances. She needed to make her move and make it quick.

Slowly, she turned the doorknob, wincing as it let out a faint creak. She held her breath, waiting for the vampire to stir, but he remained still, his chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm.

Turns out she was not as silent as she thought she was, cause the next thing she knows the vampire dude is standing right in front of her.

"Great", she murmured.

A/n: So that's it for the first chapter. Though my OTP is Klaroline, I literally ship Caroline with anyone at this point. She just has chemistry with anyone character and I thought that Damon and Caroline would make an interesting couple to write about. I might not update soon as I have online classes going on but I will try my best. Tell me how you guys like this chapter.

Who do you think the vampire that Caroline met in London was?

BTW I had to create the gifs from this scene since I couldn't find them anywhere

Until next time 👋❤️
