Hyper/Elias's POV

...huh?

Where am I?

Oh I'm in a dream...

This is so weird, usually I don't lucid dream. Why am I self aware?

My surroundings were all white, a familiar infinite abyss of blinding light. I looked down at my hands in front of me before touching each of my finger tips together to check if I was dreaming. It certainly seemed like a dream, a lame one at that.

My fingers felt numb as did the rest of my body and my head felt a little foggy, which wasn't unusual to feel in a dream I guess, but the whole experience feels so real.

'Perfect, I've got a crystal clear connection with you,' a warbled voice spoke out from the abyss and my head shot up from my hands as I searched for the owner of the voice.

'Hello? Who's there?' I shout, my voice vibrating and echoing throughout the area. My question was met with silence and my own voice seem to echo forever. As I was about to shout another question, I suddenly felt a force throw my knees forward, causing me to collapse to the ground harshly.

I winced as I felt the pain of my knees colliding roughly with the floor and the numb feeling in my body was quickly replaced with the stinging sensation of pain. I caught myself with my hands, trying to push myself back up from my fall. Before I could even sit up, I felt a foot stomp viscously between my shoulder blades and my face was forced against the cold floor.

I manage to turn my head to the side so my cheek was squished up on the ground. I struggled to try and see who my attacker was, but the lethal force on my upper back prevented me from anchoring my head any further.

'You don't need to know anything except the feeling of being on your knees at the mercy of someone else,' the voice hissed and I couldn't help but make a snarky comment in response.

'Well that sounds both threatening and sexual, which one are you promising. I'd be into both honestly,' I hum back cheekily, only groaning when more force was applied to my spine.

'You're making jokes now, but I'm sure you won't have any more smart comments when you're beneath my foot in the real world,' they threatened as I felt the wind leave my lungs from the amount of pressure on my upper body. The weight on me increased further to the point where I started feeling my ribs compress. The sharp piercing pain of my bones slowly breaking beneath my attackers foot caused me to let out a cry of agony.

With a sickening crack, several of my ribs gave in and I felt the sharp, broken edges piercing my internal organs. The pain was near unbearable and tears began to sting my eyes, I shouted and attempted to writhe away from the person's foot. Another harsh push came from above me and I felt my spine break, and I couldn't breath air into my lungs anymore. Blood began to fall from my mouth as I coughed and wheezed in attempt to refill my lungs.

I thought I was going to die, the pain felt so real, but the numbing feeling from earlier began to return as the abyss slowly fell away from around me.

'It was fun to play with you today, til next time, Elias...' the voice hummed with a sinister laughter and darkness filled my vision.

I shot up from my laying position, instantly grasping tightly at my chest as I took in a huge gasp of air. The lack of oxygen I felt in my dream seemed to linger in the real world as I realized I was safe and awake now. Once my breath began to return to a normal pace, I began to recall the events of yesterday. though I couldn't get the images of my dream out of my head. It was so real...

"Yo, you good?" I heard a groggy voice ask beside me, and out of instinct I flinched away from the voice. "Woah, woah, relax. It's just me," I eased up a bit when I noticed the voice belonged to a sleepy looking Wally, with fresh bed head and a concerned expression on his face.

"Shit, sorry. I'm fine," I said with a sigh of relief as I combed a finger through my tangled hair. He only raised an eyebrow in question, clearly not believing I was truly okay.

"You sure? You woke up in a hell of a frenzy," he pointed out as he placed a hard on my shoulder for comfort. I smiled at his support, placing my own hand on top of his to reassure him.

"Yeah, just had a nightmare," I explained before squishing myself onto his chest, wrapping my arms around him in a lazy hug. He didn't hesitate to return the embrace as he rubbed my back soothingly.

"What was it about?" he questioned while his fingers ghosted up and down my spine, I shivered at the action. I was about to tell him about what I had dreamed about, when I suddenly didn't remember. I couldn't recall a single detail about what had happened, only the unbearable dread I felt as I awoke. Which was really fucking weird, cause who forgets their nightmares?

"I..." I trailed off in deep thought, "I don't remember." No matter how hard I thought, I couldn't pin point anything that happened, except the pain in my chest and being unable to breath.

"Well then it must not be very important," Wally suggested, it didn't rub me right to just forget about the nightmare, but it was too early for me to be having a crisis. "Other than that, how'd you sleep?" his casual question distracted me from my concerns and I smiled to myself.

"Pretty good, although I got stupid sweaty in my sleep because of your body heat," I noted while I sat up from his chest and stretched my arms above my head. I could feel a light sweat on my skin from how hot the bed had been. "Maybe next time, let's use a thinner blanket," I suggested and he quickly grinned.

"Next time, are you saying I'm gonna get to share a bed with you regularly?" his voice held his usual flirtatious tone and I gave him the usual response, an eye roll and a scoff.

"Obviously not weirdo, you don't live here," I reminded him as I stood from the bed, he frowned slightly in disappointment before I continued, "but when you do stay at the mountain, you'll stay with me." His eyes immediately lit up and he sauntered over to me beside the bed. "Now get your uniform and get out, I've gotta freshen up before we meet for the mission debunking."

He groaned at my words and tossed his head back as his shoulders slumped, "shit, I forgot about that." I snickered at his disappointment before ruffling his hair as I usually did, but before I could pull my hand away he grabbed my wrist. "Can I kiss you again?"

His request for permission brought a smile to my face and I placed my hand on the back of his neck. I pulled him down to my level while I angled my head upwards, our lips meeting in the middle for a quick but extremely effective kiss. His face held an expression of shock at my initiation.

"Y'know you don't have to ask every time," I pointed out as I released his neck and thoroughly enjoyed the sight of red engulfing his face all the way up to his ears. "After all," I hummed as I pulled him towards the door and ushered him outside, "we're dating now," I finished with a wink and his smirk returned.

"I'll keep that in mind, babe," he spoke smoothly from outside the door while I leaned against the frame with my arms crossed. "I'll see you in a bit then, don't miss me too much," his words were teasing as he turned to head down the hall.

"Wouldn't dream of it, babe," I let the words roll of my tongue smoothly as I made use of the pet name he gave me. He heard my flirtatious statement and shot me a sly grin before disappearing down the hall. 'Wonder what time it is,' I thought to myself as I closed my bedroom door, sparring a glance at my phone that sat on the bedside table. It was close to dying considering I hadn't used it or charged it in over almost two days, but I could still see the digital numbers reading '3:45'.

'Damn, we were only asleep for 8 hours,' I proceeded to grab some fresh clothes from the still unpacked moving boxes residing in the corner of my room, making a mental note to find the time to put them away. I quickly got ready to meet with the team for our mission review.

The six of us stood in the Mission Room with Batman, Tornado, and Canary standing before us as we ran through the details. At some points during our explanation, I swear I could notice slightly horrified expressions momentarily flash on their faces...well mostly Canary since Batman has a mask and Tornado is...a robot. But the energy was still there. The shock mostly came up when we brought up our ambush and the fact that Wally was almost turned into a popsicle.

"Are you certain your attack was a result of a telepath?" Batman inquired when we finished retelling the events. We all looked towards Meghan, considering she's the only one on the team with telepathic and telekinetic abilities.

"I'm fairly certain there was a telepath at work, there's really no other explanation for how easily they were able to get into our heads and knock us out," she explained and the League members seemed to share concerned expressions.

"When we surveyed the building after your mission we apprehended the three ice villains," Canary explained, "we checked the entire facility, but we didn't find any telepath." Our eyes all widened, I suppose she must have left the building while we were being held hostage, since we didn't see her at all once we escaped...but she still spoke to me telepathically just before we left. This is so confusing.

"She must have escaped before your arrival. Can you check the security surveillance from the building to see when she left?" Kaldur inquired and Tornado shook his head.

"All files of footage after just before your ambush have vanished," Tornado pointed out and my eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Somebody clearly doesn't want to be seen," Rob suggested with a serious look on his face (you can really only see him frown but yeah). "I can't even remember what the telepath looks like, I just remember she was a woman."

Rob's statement seemed to spark a realization amongst the whole team, that none of us could actual recall any details of the telepath either, though I certainly remember her voice.

"This could be a major concern in the future," Canary mumbled as we train to rack our brains for even the slightest detail of our unknown attacker. "We'll have to look into this soon. But regardless of any slip ups, your mission was a success."

Canary's praise brought a grin to my face, but it was quickly cut short, "now that you have been operating as a team for a week, we can begin your training. Today you're working on combat training with me, you've got 20 minutes to meet in the training room in your uniforms," Canary instructed and Wally and I both groaned in disappointment.

"The more whining you do the less time you will have to prepare," Red Tornado suggested monotonously and we quickly straightened up. The heroes dismissed us to get ready and we all quickly changed into our uniforms. I met up with Wally on my way to the training room, he managed to quickly swing by the kitchen and grab two bananas.

"For you, ma'am," he spoke dramatically and I snickered at him, accepting the banana.

"Why thank you, sir," I replied with the same over the top formality as we arrived in the training room. We had about fifteen minutes to kill and soon the rest of our team gathered together in the room.

"Hey Kaldur, down for a round our air hockey?" Wally asked Kaldur with a grin as he activated the holo-air hockey table in the center of the training room. Kaldur only smirked in response and took up his offer. Wally was honestly really good at arcade games, like this dude could win a skee-ball championship and he always got the biggest prizes on those stupid block stacking games. I shot Kaldur a sympathetic look as I knew he was about to get smoked.

Their game went pretty much as expected and Wally managed to win the game with fifteen consecutive points, all while eating a banana. Just as their round came to an end, Canary entered the room and training commenced.

"I consider it an honour to be your instructor. I'll throw a lot at you, everything I've learnt from both my mentor-" She winced as she removes her jacket, "and my own bruises." We all noticed the large bandage covering her upper arm.

"What happened?" M'ghan asked with sympathy in her tone.

"The job." Canary replies calmly before continuing her lesson. She's so badass I'm going to cry. "Combat's about controlling conflict and putting the battle on your terms. Always acting, never reacting. I'll need a sparring partner, who's up?" She asks as she tosses her coat to the side.

Of course, Wally raised his hand. "Over here." He says with a mouthful of banana as he struts up to the training pad. Oh this is going to be interesting, I can already feel the confidence about to be whooped out of him. "Watch closely, El. After this- swish," he looks my way cockily as he tosses his banana peel in the trash, "I'll show you my moves." His both flirtatious and overly cocky words immediately made me facepalm harshly.

As expected, almost instantly after Wally was up, he was down. I slapped a hand over my mouth to contain my laughter when Canary took him to the ground with a sweep of her leg. "Ugh hurts so good." Wally groans while laying flat on his back.

"Did you see what he did wrong here?" Canary asks us and I do my best to calm my laughter.

"Ooh he tried to show off to his girlfriend and got served?" Rob suggests as he puts his hand up and I purse my lips to prevent myself from engaging in a fit of giggles. Meghan snickers behind me and I offer Rob a high five, not even bothering to question why he already knew Wally and I were dating.

"Dude!" Wally complains as he stands up abruptly, face red out of embarrassment. His whining caused me to let a laugh slip and Wally looked at me in exasperation. I only shrug at his face of betrayal to show there wasn't much I could do to save him from embarrassment.

"He put the battle on my terms." Canary points out simply and Superboy scoffs. I turn at the sound, confused as to why he was being so pissy all of a sudden.

"Please, with my super strength the battle is always on my terms." He says with arms crossed in attitude. I raise an eyebrow, more so to myself, and I thought back to when he almost caused the building to collapse on us at Cadmus. Yeah sure...always on your terms bestie.

"Prove it." Canary commands as Superboy approaches the mat, taking Wally's place for sparring.

"Now it's his turn to get served." I whisper jokingly to Rob and Wally and we wait in anticipation for Superboy's inevitable smack down. He throws a powerful punch and she deflects his swing, using his weight and momentum to take him down in an instant. Rob laughs out loud as he points at Superboy, who was laid out on the floor. Wally and I urgently try to get him to shut up so Superboy doesn't kill him for laughing later.

"You're angry, good. But don't react, channel that anger-" Canary advises but Superboy charges blindly at her, clearly her advice went in one ear and right out the other. She folds him yet again. Seeing the anger practically resonating off Superboy's body prompted me to think every sad and gross thought to stop myself from laughing at his misfortune. He harshly pushed himself up off the ground and brushed his clothes off with rage in his eyes.

"That's it, I'm done!" He shouts as he begins to storm off. Canary manages to snag his elbow and stop him momentarily.

"Training is mandatory." She reminds the clone, but he yanks his arm from her grip. I couldn't help but shake my head in disappointment at his behaviour, I had hoped he'd become more patient by now, but it's only been a week after all. In perfect timing, before Superboy could leave the room a holographic projection appeared in the center of the training room. The familiar face of the Dark Knight opens up in front of us and I find myself grinning because I know what this means.

A new mission.
