I wake up to my alarm ringing loudly. I roll over and groan into my pillow. Today is the first day of tutoring Gray. I get up and change into an oversized graphic t-shirt and some black leggings. I decide to get ready faster today so I have time to run to Starbucks to get coffee. I walk downstairs and see my mom making herself some eggs. "Hi sweetie, want me to make you something?" "No it's ok I'll just make myself a bagel" I answer. I put a bagel into the toaster and put cream cheese on top and then slip on my shoes. "All right mom, I'm heading out I'll see you tonight" "Ok, bye love you" she says back to me and kisses me on the cheek.
I drive to Starbucks and pull into the drive-thru. "Hi! Welcome to Starbucks, what can I get for you today?" a lady asks me. "I'll just have an iced white mocha with sweetcream cold foam and caramel drizzle please" I respond. This is my favorite drink but I hardly ever get Starbucks so when I do I get really exicted. I pull up and grab my drink and drive to school.
I walk to my locker and see Sage and Elliot standing there talking. "How dare you not get something for us?!" Sage says a little upset. I shrug and just say I didn't know what they would want. We all walk to science and prepare for our project. When we get called on to present I get a little nevous even though I know we did good. We finish our presentation and our teacher claps. "Well done you guys. You did very good. You may sit back down." We smile at her and walk to our desks. "Thank god we did good, I was afraid I was going to mess it all up" Elliot says.

Me, Sage, and Elliot all walk to go get our lunch and we sit outside to eat. "It's such a nice day out" Sage says. I nod and take a bite of my sandwich. "So Ana, are you ready to go shopping tonight?" Sage asks me. Crap, I totally forgot that she wanted to go shopping to find clothes for my date. "Shoot, Sage I can't tonight actually. I have to help Gray with school work." "You what?!" Elliot shouts. He knows how much we don't get along so he is probably really confused. "Yeah when did this happen... and why?" Sage adds-in. I forgot to tell her about it last night, I was too busy worrying about the date. "Um, his mom asked me to tutor him last night and I had to agree because of my mom" "Wow, bet that's gonna be... fun" Elliot says sarcastically. "No kidding... speak of the devil" Sage says looking behind me.
I turn around to see Gray walking with his group of friends and a girl under his arm. I roll my eyes and Gray turns his head and we make eye contact. He quickly turns his head back when the girl notices him looking at me and she glares at me. I raise my eyebrow at her and turn back to Sage and Elliot. "Well she seems nice" Sage says and I just shake my head. "She probably thinks you guys are into each other or something" Elliot adds and takes a drink of water. "Oh god, never. She has nothing to worry about" I respond and he shrugs his shoulders.

The school day is finally over but sadly I still have to tutor Gray. I get in my car and drive home. When I get inside I get myself a glass of water and hear a knock at the door. "Here we go" I say quietly preparing myself for the next few hours. I open the door and let Gray in. "So what do you need help with?" I ask wanting to get right into it. "Wow, not even small talk first? Y'know, we have plenty of time Ana" Gray says. "There's nothing to talk about" I respond in an annoyed tone. "How about a 'how was school?'" He says raising an eyebrow at me. "Fine. How was your day Gray" I say in a fake happy tone. He puts a hand over his heart "Well, thank you for asking Ana it was great how was yours?" he says smiling "Fine I guess" I answer. "You sure seemed interested in me and Mia at lunch earlier" he says while smirking at me. "Oh so that's who that new chick is?" I come back. He rolls his eyes "Y'know, I haven't really been with that many girls." I laugh at his comment "Right" "I'm serious, compared to some other guys I haven't really been with that many" he says. "Can we just get to work?" I ask starting to get annoyed with the conversation. "Sure. I have some math we can start with" he responds and I nod.

"Ok, so what would this equal?" I ask. Gray leans his head back and groans. "Can't we just be done?" he says and looks at me. "We are literally on the last question just answer it" I respond. "Fine" he replies and writes the answer down. "Good, look now we're done. Was it really that hard?" I say looking at him. "I'm just over school" he says back to me. "I get it" I respond and shrug. "Let's just clean this stuff up quick" I say and he nods. I pick up all of my stuff and put it in my backpack. I turn around and accidently run into Gray, knocking his stuff out of his hands. "Oh my god again?!" I say to myself. I've been so clumsy lately what is going on. Gray laughs and starts picking the papers up off of the floor. I gather some of the sheets and stand up to hand them to him. He looks me in the eyes and for a second I can feel myself start to blush. I open my mouth to say something but nothing really comes out. "Um, sorry. Here you go" I say finally managing to choke out some words. He softly smiles at me and I quickly turn around and grab my bag. "I'll be back, I'm just gonna put this up in my room" I say and he nods while putting his papers away. I walk up to my room and sigh. "What is happening? Why did I feel that way when he looked at me?" I think to myself. I shake my head, clearing the thoughts and then feel my phone buzz in my pocket. "Hey mom" I say answering the call. "Hey baby, I have to work late tonight so you'll have to order some food, ok?" she says and I sigh. Mom has been working late a lot lately and I'm starting to miss hanging out with her. "Ok, sounds good. Bye mom" I say and she says goodbye to me.
I walk downstairs and see Gray sitting on the couch scrolling on his phone. "So my moms working late tonight" I sigh. "Oh, so I'm assuming you don't have any plans for dinner?" he asks me and I shake my head. "I have a great idea" he says while giving me a geniuine smile. I give him a funny look because he's being very suspicious. "And that is?" I respond. "We should go on like a fake date type thing. It would just be as a joke. We could get dressed up and go out to eat and it would just be a good time" he says while still smiling. The word date lingers in my head causing me to be be a little confused. Has he wanted to take me out on a real date... is he interested in me? I doubt it, it doesn't matter anyway. "Sure, why not" I say while smiling and I shrug my shoulders. "Ok! I'm gonna go back to my place and get dressed and I'll be back to pick you up!" he says excitedly. I laugh "Ok, see you soon." He walks out of the door and I go upstairs to my room to find a fancy-ish outfit. I finally settle on a silky dark green dress with a deep v-cut and then do some natural makeup. I spray on some nice perfume and slide on a pair of black heels. A little while later I hear the doorbell ring and I open it to see a nicely dressed Gray. There's a short moment of silence while he looks me up and down. "Is something wrong?" I ask self-consiously. He clears his throat "Oh um, no. Sorry, you just-you look nice" he says and I can feel myself start to blush. "You look nice too" I respond. "When do I not?" he says cockily and I roll my eyes. "Let's get going" he says and I walk out to his car.

"Where are we even going?" I ask "Look, can't you just trust me on this?" he responds and I sigh. Shortly after, we arrive to a really fancy looking Italian restaurant. We walk in and get seated and I look over the menu. "See anything good?" Gray asks and I shrug. "Everything sounds delicious but it's just all so expensive" I reply. "Ana, don't worry about the cost. It's not a big deal" he replies. I still feel bad so I try to find something a little less expensive. "What are you going to get?" I ask Gray. "Hm... I'm thinking about getting the Paccheri pasta" "That does sound good, I'll just get the same as you" I say and smile at him. We place our orders and start to conversate. "So Grayson, why have you been actually decent to me today?" "Wow, Grayson? You never call me by my full name" he laughs "but I don't know. I just don't see the point in arguing all the time. I mean sure it's fun sometimes but you're actually really fun to hang out with" I smile and look into his eyes. "You're not too bad yourself" I comment. For a moment I feel something I've never felt before. Me and Gray are making direct eye contact and for some reason... it feels different. I break the eye contact by look down at my hands due to nervousness. "So who's the boy you're going out with?" Gray asks. "Um, his name is Leo. I ran into him at the store yesterday... quite literally" I respond and he laughs. "Clumsy much?" he says while smiling at me and I just roll my eyes and take a drink of my water.
Our waitress comes back with our food and it looks absolutley amazing. "This looks delicious" I say to Gray. "I've honestly never been here before so let's hope it is" he responds and I laugh quietly. We both take our first bite and instantly look up at each other. "Oh my god" I say and he chuckles softly. "This is amazing" he adds and I just nod because my mouth is too full to say anything.
We both finish our meals and are completely stuffed. We pay for our food and get back into Gray's car and he drives me home. "Well, tonight was really fun. Thank you" I say and smile at him. "Of course, it was no problem. We should do it again sometime" He says while smiling back at me. I agree and decide to give him a quick hug to thank him. He hugs me back and I honestly don't want him to let go. I really don't know what has gotten into me today. I finally let go and get out of the car. When I'm about to close my front door I wave to him and he waves back. I shut the door and instantly fall onto the couch.
"God what has gotten into me? Why do I suddenly feel this way? Do I like him? No, I can't... can I?" I think to myself. I slap my hands over my face. What are we gonna do now?
