Welcome to My Mausoleum

I used to keep my feelings buried deep down

In caliginous catacombs, cemeteries underground

Like carcasses and corpses, I sealed them away in caskets and coffins

Bottled up and buried below

Until they became bare, brittle bones

Hardened and repressed, decaying slowly

But now I use them to create cryptic ciphers

With just a few flicks of my hand

For them I build this mausoleum, a museum of archaic artifacts and modern musings alike

Inviting others to come in and see

My history, cloaked in mystery, up to the present day

They pick apart the charnel cadavers and make conjectures, try to crack the code

On display, an array of ancient emotions from antiquity, preserved in amber

Being brought back to life when they're noticed, as if by necromancy

And others, still young and keen, keening

Wounds that haven't quite healed yet

Fresh flakes from a skin I haven't fully shed

Welcome to my mausoleum

You might just find things that were put here by you, for you, because of you

Absent from your awareness
