DEATH IS NOT THE END.
The world used to work in a simple cycle — you're born, you live and then you die. It used to be inevitable and no one could escape the cold hand of death that was ready to escort them from the realm of the living to what lied beyond. But as many people believe, death is only the beginning and the ending is just the start of a new chapter in one long and endless story. You cannot decide how many pages you get, for the story has already been written and life is not something you can control. The Makita sisters hated that.
Together they dreamed of exploring the stars but the normal human lifespan limited their desires. So, they designed and created something to extend it and then they were finally able to travel the galaxy. But what they did not estimate was the greed and cruelty of the human race who twisted their miracle into something dark and merciless. And the sisters quickly regretted ever thinking up of their invention and soon began plotting to rid the worlds of Stacks forever.
Their uprising inspired others to join their fight and it didn't take long for them to have an army's worth of men and women to train. They became the ultimate warriors — envoys — and just the mention of their name struck fear into everyone around to hear it. But if people feared the envoys, then how much do you think they were afraid of their leaders?
Lenora Falconer supported her sister through thick and thin and was co-leader of the warriors they had so carefully trained. She, like Quellcrist, had her demons but the sisters had conquered them, cornering their darkest thoughts into a cage and locking them away in the furthest corners of their minds. Lenora, once upon a time, was a Scientist and dedicated her time to helping others, but now she was a soldier and even though the intention stayed, the actions were not justified by it.
Then came the Battle of Stronghold, the place where all the Envoys were buried beneath ash and blood.
By some miracle, Lenora survived but the images of what had happened would never leave. She found some old allies who took pity on the woman and immediately helped her escape the planet. Her sleeve history and identity were wiped so no one would know that she was Lenora Falconer, the face of a revolution, a 'terrorist' and murderer.
Centuries she spent alone, hopping between planets to try and stay hidden away as much as possible. She was a hypocrite, something she would not deny as she doing the very thing she had fought to destroy. Lenora knew justifying it was wrong but she did believe the rebellion would rise once more and if it did, she wanted to be there. Besides, she had nothing left to live for.
Lenora ended up in Bay City — under the name Marie Sparrow — and decided to join the police force in hope of helping to fix a world she broke with her invention. And that was how things went for the Envoy leader, well, until her friend Kristen came back from the prison to tell them a terrorist was borrowing her boyfriend's sleeve. But still Marie has no idea this 'terrorist' is a man she believed to be long dead: Takeshi Kovacs.
And after tagging along with Kristen to the Bancroft party, Marie (or Lenora) is forced to come face to face with her past. She must have known that it wouldn't remain buried forever.

Nina Makita was a brilliant scientist who wanted to travel the stars with her sister. So to do so, they invented Stacks. They immediately regretted their decision as the world twisted their innocent creation into greed and injustice.
That was when Nina became Lenora and Nadia became Quellcrist and they started a Rebellion to rid the world of Stacks forever. After all, it was their creation, their responsibility. So they trained envoys, elite warriors, to help them in their fight. But the Rebellion was defeated at the Battle of Stronghold.
Fleeing Harlan's world, Lenora changed her sleeve, got some help to wipe the history clean and then vanished. She took many aliases and sleeves over the years until she ended up in Bay City on Earth where she decided to be a cop. The galaxies were broken and it was her fault, so she had to do something to try and fix it.

• Lenora is Nina Makita and is Quellcrist's sister. They invented Stacks. But they soon despise their invention.
• Lenora develops a crush on Takeshi as her and Quell are training him but Quell doesn't know.
• When the Battle of Stronghold began, Lenora was on a walk to try and clear her mind and think of a plan for the future so she missed the infection. But she soon realises something is wrong and returns to see her home covered with ash and blood.
• Lenora takes the name Marie in Bay City and is friends with Kristen as she is also a cop.
• Lenora and Takeshi go off together between seasons 1 and 2 (if you want to write a whole act for this you can) and their relationship develops as they look for Quell. On one planet, Lenora discovers she's pregnant and considers giving up her search but she loses the baby and both her and Takeshi are devastated. It causes tension in their relationship.
ACT ONE
altered carbon season 1
• Lenora is known as Marie and is a cop in Bay City. She somehow avoids Kristen name-dropping the guy riding her boyfriend's sleeve but finds out when she's at the Bancroft party and confronts Takeshi. Takeshi is in disbelief. Marie/Lenora takes a leave of absence to help Takeshi and even though the sleeve belongs to a friend, she is regaining feelings for Takeshi. When Kristen finds out her truth, she almost loses it and Lenora understands that. They branded her as a terrorist. Lenora tells those who find out that she's Nina Makita so they understand. Lenora and Takeshi fall for each other properly as they are all each other has left. They leave together.
ACT TWO
altered carbon season 2
• Takeshi and Lenora are still looking for Quell. People think she's still a Bay City cop that ran off with an Envoy. Takeshi and Lenora's relationship is rocky after Lenora's miscarried a decade prior to season 2. Poe's condition doesn't help matters. When they're captured, Lenora's truth comes out. Lenora helps her sister no matter what but she doesn't really feel a part of the rebellion, not after all the sleeves she's had. Lenora leaves with Quell.
