Inside a small café alone,
Black coffee in hand trying not to mourn,
Passing by the window a couple walking hand-in-hand,
Wondering if their so called ‘love’ is truly a tight bond.
Stood up and walked out the café, Feeling the cold whispers of winter,
Thought about the couple that passed by,
And wished that all those who love would last together longer.
Streets piling up with silver snow,
Brings back old memories for the young widow,
Reminiscing all of their shattered dreams with a hint of sorrow,
The smiles of delight from the past now all just for a show.
It’s been years since it was broken,
But the shattered heart opposes to mend,
The body functions quite well but the mind is ill,
How can one move on if it's against the heart’s will.
