You unlocked the front door to your apartment and set your keys down on the counter.

"What a weirdo."

You couldn't help but think back on the man who calls himself 'Dabi' and the time you spent with him.

Though you would never tell him, you couldn't say you hated his company.

'Nope. No, no, and no. He's a literal villain.'

Is what you told yourself, not wanting to get remotely close to a criminal.

'Then again so am I... but I'm a vigilante, it's different.'

You decided that you only wished for someone else's presence because of how long it's been since you've had a close friend.

'I don't need anyone, I'm better off by myself.'

Thinking back, you recalled the time you heard your best friend was pronounced 'dead'. You never believed them, always thinking he just ran away. You knew how much he wanted to just get away.

Now you weren't so sure though. He had been gone for so long without contacting anyone, you didn't know what to believe.

You were afraid of making friends because you didn't want to be left alone anymore.

Staying away from people was easier than being abandoned, you never wanted to feel like that again.

'Well it doesn't matter, I don't plan on seeing him again so it's fine.'

You looked over at the clock next to the television.

"I have nothing else to do so I guess I'll go out."

Putting on your all black outfit, you left your gun and took down your katana from off the wall.

You grabbed your keys back off from the counter and exited the apartment without making a sound.

The clock read 1:52 when you finally got out of bed.

You were told that you could come in later since you had minded the shop the whole time yesterday.

Honestly, your grandpa told you that he didn't need you to come in until 5 but you were too excited.

Today was the day.

"Get ready for that tattoo old man."

After getting ready, you made your way downstairs grabbing a small bite to eat before leaving, heading to the shop as quickly as possible.

Running down the streets of Musutafu, you thought you saw the familiar shadow of a hooded acquaintance you had made, but ignored it.

You had confidence in the fact that you knew villains, and for him to be out while it was still light outside was unusual so you threw that idea out the window.

Not slowing down, you made it to your destination within 8 minutes busting through the door.

"I am here!"

"Quiet down! You're not All Might," the old man yelled at you from the front desk.

You just smiled strolling up to him, "You're right, he wishes he was like me."

Although that just cause him to sigh, already over you even though you had just arrived.

"Let's just get this over with," he walked out from behind the desk, and towards one of the seats further in the room.

Pulling your sleeves up to your elbow, you walked over and grabbed all the supplies you needed.

You got ahold of your sketch book and made your way over to your grandfather.

"Alright I have a few things to pic from," you handed over your book and watched him flip though the pages.

As he started at one for a particularly long time, you nervously chewed on your lip, unsure of what his reaction would be.

"This is some good shit kid," he had a huge grin on his face.

You looked over his shoulder, to see the dragon you had drawn while sitting on the rooftop of a building one night.

Though you were quite pleased with his choice.

Already eager to start, you made your way over to the sink and washed your hands and brought over the disinfection wipes.

He rolled up the sleeve to his arm and placed it down so you were able to get to it easier.

After you had cleaned of his arm, you started to sketch down your drawing adding and taking away details as you went on.

A little while into your drawing, you realized the hair on his arm would get in your way so you sent a menacing smile his way making him groan at the realization.

You shaved the hair off the spot on his arm you occupied and continued you draft.

Finally you had finished and the best part had come.

You made sure everything was in its right place so you wouldn't cross contaminate anything, and grabbed all of the machines packaging.

Even though he was your grandpa and a professional tattoo artist, you knew how seriously you both took this so you went through all of the steps you would if he was a regular client.

After you explained, you asked questions, making sure that the sketch was to his liking.

While removing all the sterile packaging so he could see, you explained the process from off the top of your head.

Making sure to ask if he had any questions, you were ready to put ink onto his skin.

You cleaned off his arm once more with antiseptic soap and water and started to ink over your sketch.

Starting out slow, you made sure to keep your hand from shaking, and make precise lines.

In spite of the fact the you were nervous, it all went away once you started to see your own art on someone else's skin.

It was unreal.

After you saw it start to come together, you couldn't help but smile.

Maybe you could really pass this test first try.

Wiping the extra ink off of the new tattoo, you explained everything once again, including the procedures that would need to take place.

You helped him with everything before turning off your 'professional mode'.

"So, so, so, how was that. Do I pass?" you had your eyes open as wide as they would go, hoping for a positive answer.

What you got was silence as he examined his tattoo and went over to the mirror.

The silence was excruciating, but you endured it.

"I got to say," you leaned forward, hanging onto ever word he spoke.

"I'm impressed."

However that wasn't enough, you wanted to hear something else. You clenched your hands at the sides of your body while staring deeply into his eyes.

He seemed to notice your impatience, he smiled gently while putting a hand on the top of your head.

"You pass."

With just those two simple words, your eyes lit up making you wrap your arms around him, crushing him a the strongest hug you could muster.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you..." all you could think to say was thank you.

Your grandpa was your inspiration, and being able to have something passed down to you from him, was a surreal feeling.

Releasing him from your death grip, you smiled up at him with glossy eyes.

"Thank you for everything."
