It's sad that I worry when I'm with men.
It's sad that I get anxiety walking alone.
It's sad that I don't feel safe in my own self.
It's sad that I wince when men shout.
It's sad that I run with my finger over triple zero on my phone.
It's sad that my heart skips when a man walks up to me.
But most of all,
it's sad that I feel this way
purely because
I'm a girl.
