"So you're all here?" Diluc asked as he looked around.
"What's jean doing here?" paimon asked in slight shock.
"Master Diluc contacted more than one person," Y/n explained.
"And Secondly, Jean came her as herself and not the acting grandmaster. A jean you would never see, even as the honorary knight," Diluc added.
"I heard about the holy lyre, but I never suspected it was you. So the sound of the holy Lyre could purify Divalin?" Jean asked.
"yep your honorary knight is putting themselves on the frontline to try and resolve this Storterror issue," Venti said confidently.
"But it still feels like we're breaking the law though," Paimon deadpanned.
"I understand this is kind of hard to believe. But we could ask the bard to play the song aga-"
"I believe you," Jean said cutting him off.
"Wait what?!" Diluc asked in surprise.
"You should never underestimate Jean's great patients and understanding," Y/n smiled at Diluc." Plus she knows of Dvalin's story and being the four winds, what other reason would there be."
"As acting grand Master I obviously cannot make such statement publically. Diplomatic pressure from the Fatui make things difficult to find a peaceful solution to this issue," Jean explained as Diluc scoffed.
"She's right, something isn't right about the Fatui, and the conflict between our gods isn't helpful either. The Cryo god seems to be after the god of Animo's power, I do not trust them," Y/n added on to jeans statement.
Venti seemed to be slightly uncomfortable with the conversation, as they continued about what Diluc was able to find from his resources. Diluc said that the lyre was not being held at the hotel, it would be a place far too easy for the lyre to be reclaimed. So they must have taken it to a secret hideout.
"I think they want to hurt one of them for winds to draw out Barbatos," Venti added suddenly.
"The God of Animo? He hasn't been seen for a thousand years. What makes you think that?" Diluc asked the bard.
As Venti fiddled with his finger nervesly, Y/n stepped in. " Maybe it's because of that reason. Hurting one of his allies could compel him to reveal himself. though this is just a simple theory," Y/n said.
"Hmm, fine I won't pry, but take these Disguise to protect your identity. Put this on before you run into the Fatui," Diluc said as he handed them a mask. But as he got to Y/n, he gently put the mask on her face.
_____________
The ground traveled far out of mondstadt and found a part in the rock leading to a secret base. Diluc pulled Y/n close as they entered the base, Aether could feel his heart tighten slightly. Yet he shook it off and focused on the mission at hand.
The many "guards" in the base were chicken and were easily intimidated. He explained that a harbinger is already in Mondstadt and the key to the lyre is somewhere further into the base. Sadly there were multiple rooms and time was of the essence.
"Why don't we split up, Aether and Y/n check the bottom floors, and Jean and Diluc can check the top floor," Paimon suggested.
"That could be more efficient, but will you two be alright?" Jean ask.
"Not to worry Jean, I have the honorary knight with me," Y/n smiled as she locked arms with Aether.
"Hmm, alright, but stick close and let us know if something happens," Diluc said to the two.
-------------------------
"A-are you sure you'll be okay fighting off Fatui?" Paimon asked.
"I know when we first meet I was a bit unprepared, but I'm very handy with a sword when I'm at my best," Y/n smiled.
"All right, so I can trust you to have my back," Aether smiled, as Y/n nodded with confidence.
As they entered the first room, the doors closed shut and an electro mag appeared. Paimon gasped as she quickly vanishes as Y/n and Aether readied their swords. Aether quickly challenged the mage, as Y/n quickly helped him by taking out the strange electro moths the mage summoned. Dodging the electro energy from the insects and made quick work with the swift wave of her blade.
Aether soon managed to take down the mage, causing the doors to unlock. Y/n breathed a sigh of relief as she resheathed her sword, as Paimon reappeared out of know where.
"looks like the key isn't here, lets check the other rooms," Paimon said as she vanished, just as fast as she appeared.
"A-Aether, do you know where Paimon goes and how she knows certain things?" Y/n asked as she turned to the blond.
"I... I don't question it. She just knows and we move on," Aether shrugged. " And thanks for taking out those moth creatures. Dealing with them while fighting the mage is so frustrating."
"Well, your welcome to invite me on your adventures if you need some help," Y/n smiled as her eyes were drawn to his beautiful but strange-looking wings." So you a Fae of sorts right, so where are you from? I've never seen your wing type before, you're not from Teyvat are you?"
"You could tell that much just from the shape of my wings?!" Aether asked in surprise.
"Of course I had to study all sorts of monsters if I wanted to be a doctor specializing in monster medicine. Fun Fact, fae's in Tevyat have special wing shapes that are special to the country they're from," Y/n smiled.
"Really, what kind of wing shapes are there?" Paimon asked as Aether nodded in agreement.
"Well, if you ever get a chance to study Barbra and Jean's wings their wings are very full and large. Very good wings for catching the Mondstadt wind," Y/n said as she pulled out a small book from her bag.
As she flipped through the pages to show them a drawing of a pair of wings.
"Wow," Aether awed as he looked over the shape.
"Fae from liyue have very frilly-like and insect in a way. They are very high society creatures, and take great care and pride of their wings,"
"Of course those are just a few," Y/n smiled as she put her book away.
"If you three are done flirting then we must hurry, I've got the key," Diluc said with a slightly annoyed look on his face.
The three smiled bashfully as they quickly followed the Centaur deeper into the base. Using the key, the gates rose up revealing an empty chamber with a single hooded man in the middle. Seeming to be waiting for them.
The Man drew his blades as the team readied theirs. As The Fatui assassin activated his power, a horrible wave of energy washed over Y/n. Her legs trembled as the energy she felt was wrong and twisted, her legs wanted to crumble under this awful power. She turned to Diluc only to see him stare with anger and hatred of sorts.
In a blink of an eye, the man vanished from view, only to reappear suddenly in front of Aether. With a gasp, everyone jumped back as the battle became feirce. The man would blend into the back ground and try to sneak up on the intrudiors, but the group was able to make swift work of him and retrieved the lyre.
