Winter was very aloof through out the whole planning process. She had to have some intake in this or she could be docked points and or eliminated. I gave her the entertainment portion. She sat near the window, every so often scribbling something down in a notebook for the party.
"Is she alright?" Abell asked, sorting through partchments of fabrics to decide what would look best for the table cloths. I sighed and shrugged "She'll be alright, she's always done her best work alone" I smiled my most genuine and sweet smile not trying to give away that I, too, was worried for my best friend and her well being.
"I can't wait to see what she picks for the entertainment" Abell smiles, I nod in return "Knowing her it will have lots of Elephants" a laugh released from both of us "She loves elephants, has since I've known her" I say smiling, a nod in response.
"I'm sure they'll let her ride one" Abell finally picks between two red patches. One stripped and worn out lookng, the other red and white diamonds.
"She'd die of happiness" I smiled at the thought of her on an elephant.
"I just hope there is at least one clown" Abell laughed "I love clowns" she gave me a guilty pleasure smile.
"Clowns are terrifying" one of the girls spoke up, Margo I think was her name. Abell simply shrugged and smiled "Can't help what I like now can I" she laughed.
"Margo what do we have for foods so far?" I say trying to change the subject. Twirling her hair she nervously pulls out a piece of paper with glued on pictures of foor organized wonderfully.
"Well popcorn is a common thing during circus' so there will be different flavored ones for guests to snack on. For dinner perfectly grilled chicken or steak with either mashed potatoes or squash with steamed vegtables on the side with rolls with the option of honey or jam on the side. For dessert" she pauses to smile "since this is all about celebrating the Kings birth I figured and some of the other girls decided it'd be fun to have a dessert buffet. There will be cotton candy to go with the circus theme but also candies, the King's favorites along with beautifull decorated cupcakes and other desserts as well" she smiled proudly for her work and the other girls' work as well.
"It sound delicous!" I giggle.
Looking over at Winter I see her eyes are closed. Clearly fast asleep.
"Excuse me" I say to the girls. Looking around I see that Vicky isn't around so points weren't being taken away. But for fear of her getting kicked out I left my spot and walked to her.
"Winter, wake up" her eyes flutter open.
"S-Sorry Cal" she bites down on her lip tiredly.
"What is up with you Winter? The other girls are worrying about you, I'm worrying about you" she sighs "Tired" her head leaned against the cool glass of the window. "well wake up goof ball. I'm assuming there will be elephants arriving at the palace?" she only laughed.
"That obvious?" her eyes lit up, I nodded "I have a few monkeys down too. Also a lion and a tiger. Still debating on the sword swallowers though" I gave her a look.
"Stick with jugglers and acrobats. Don't need someone accidently killing themselves on the King's birthday. That could be quite a bit of a downer." She nodded quickly crossing out the sword swallowers and went back to looking out the window.
If there was one thing my friend was good at it, it was dreaming.
