"Mikasa Ackerman! Y/n L/n! Armin Arlert! Are you here?" it was a guy from the military police "Yes sir." you looked in their way "You're going to be a witness at the court." you three nodded. After getting Eren out of the titan and explaining everything, you three were ordered to go to court because of Eren's actions as a titan.
You made your way to the court, all of you three were in silence so you cleared your throat "Don't worry Mikasa it'll be fine. Eren will be okay." you turned to look at her and she glared at you "Jeez... Never mind then." you rolled your eyes and she "bumped" into you "Hey!" she pushed you accidentally into Armin's arms. She stared into your eyes with anger "I was just trying to comfort you and be nice but whatever!" you semi-yelled at her. "Just be quiet. Your voice is annoying." she looked away from you "Damn I know you're worried but calm down... And you're annoying in general." you huffed and walked fast dragging Armin by your side "Leave Armin here with me." you turned around to her and raised an eyebrow "What..?". "Leave Armin here with me. Are you deaf?" Mikasa grabbed at Armin's sleeve and Armin looked nervously at you.
You started chuckling "Are you serious right now?" you continued while she looked at you seriously "I am. You're taking Armin as if you've known him long enough like me and Eren. You should just leave us alone." your smile faded away and you clenched your jaw "Don't even start with me Mikasa. I don't fucking know what got into you but don't take it out on me okay?!" you looked at Armin's way and saw him gulp "Y- y/n" he stuttered "Just go with whoever you want." you walked away and continued your way to the court. You saw Eren walk in and saw as he kneeled.
You stood beside Rico as Mikasa was on the other side of her. Eren's eyes widened when he saw you guys and you kept on your serious facial expression. You were starting to get nervous as you watched some people in the audience argue and immediately turned when you heard the familiar voice. "You talk a lot pig," Levi said and you internally squealed. Levi looked so badass to you so you couldn't help but feel excited around him. (Not in the way you think 👀).
Eren turned to Mikasa wide-eyed when they asked her if it was true that Eren had tried to punch her in his titan form. "You want me to lie in a report?" Rico asked as Mikasa glared at her "Yes. It's true...". "May I add something sir?" you cleared your throat "Who are you?" The judge asked "I'm Y/n L/n from the Survey Corps Sir." you said and he nodded "On a previous occasion before that...Eren saved me. I was in an alley and had no more gas. A titan was coming my way and was about to grab me but Eren's titan killed it. And before he tried to punch Mikasa I managed to calm him down, it was quite easy. That's all I have to say for now sir, thank you." you said with a serious expression.
"She has feelings for him! It's probably fake!" someone in the audience yelled "She's trying to defend him with lies!" another person yelled and you looked around at the people "She's probably a titan too! Dissect her!" you slightly flinched at their words but remained calm "No! No! She has nothing to do with this!" Eren yelled and the room got louder "He's lying! They're both monsters!" they yelled "No! NO! I may be a monster but she has nothing to do with it!" Eren yelled and almost snapped the chains. Your eyes widened at his reaction and you felt Mikasa's gaze on you.
"I mean... You're wrong. Besides all of you people. You've never seen a titan! What are you so afraid of? You cowards!" Eren gave a little speech that made the military police get their weapons ready. You saw Levi walk towards Eren and kick him in the face... He began beating him up and Mikasa looked pissed and was about to go towards them but you pulled her back by the arm before Armin could reach her. Mikasa looked like she was about to murder him and the judge agreed to let Levi take care of him. You felt your insides melt when you saw Levi look in your direction but it was probably not a nice scene. Mikasa was huffing, her hair was in her face, your hair in your face while you gave her death stares, and using all your strength to have her hands grabbed behind her back.
You didn't see Eren for a while 'Maybe he's with Captain Levi' was your thought all the time. "Y/n!" you turned around and watched how Armin jogged towards you as a small smile appeared on your face "Oh hey Armin." he smiled "Hi..." he blushed and behind him, you saw an annoyed Mikasa "Hey Mikasa..." you mumbled out. The court was the last time you saw her because after you were holding her back she pulled away from your grip, glared at you, and then walked away.
Mikasa didn't reply "Let's walk a little! Together!" Armin smiled and grabbed your hand and grabbed Mikasa's arm and dragged you both along. "Have you seen Eren?" you asked and Armin pouted "No..." he replied "I wonder what he's doing..." You looked up to the sky and turned to look at Mikasa when you heard a "Tsk." You raised an eyebrow "Hey. Mikasa what's up with you? Did I do something wrong?" you genuinely asked "Yes y/n. You did. You shouldn't have said anything at the court. You could've put Eren in more trouble! They could've killed him!" Mikasa slightly raised her voice as she walked faster to face you.
"What?! I literally was trying to help him!" your pace fastened also "It didn't seem like it! You should think before you speak!" she scoffed "Excuse me?!... Oh I see..." you let out a small chuckle and Mikasa tilted her head to the side "Is this because Eren's titan was trying to kill you and not me?" you raised an eyebrow. Armin stiffened in between you two and Mikasa furrowed her eyebrows in anger "Well of course! Your best friend- almost brother-like! Or crush...? Almost kills you..! BUT they help someone else they almost barely met!... Jealous much?" You felt the corner of your lip slightly raise and your quick reflexes were able to hold Mikasa's hand in mid-air "Very I see." you pushed her hand away and began walking away "Y- Y/n!" Armin stuttered out "Once again do whatever you want!" you yelled back and you felt some chills down your spine when you saw Mikasa giving you the same look when she saw Levi beating up Eren.
'Holy shit I pissed her off' you said in your mind slightly worried 'What if she kills me in a mission and says it was a titan?!' you began worrying more. You honestly didn't even know what had gotten into you... And this time you actually weren't thinking when you were speaking. It just all came out... And your reaction also... Shit, you couldn't believe you dared to smirk after saying all that... 'What has gotten into me?' you thought as you continued walking.
You were called up among the rest of the cadets to get your gear checked out since someone had killed two titans the scouts were doing experiments on. You were standing pretty far away from Armin which kinda made you upset. You saw his head turn to the side as he began talking to Annie... 'Annie..? I wonder what they're talking about..' you bit your lip while thinking. Once they had finished you walked along with the rest outside. You looked for Armin and saw him resting at a wall and beside him was Sasha, Connie, and Annie...?
"Armin!" You slightly jumped up and he smiled while you jogged over to him. "Hey..." you blushed just by looking at him "Have you...?" he looked around "No. I haven't talked to her." you sighed "Hi Y/n! My lifesaver!" Sasha threw herself onto you "Sasha don't be dramatic! Hi y/n.." Connie said annoyed but smiling at you "Connie! If she hadn't saved me I wouldn't be able to eat! And you wanna know why? Because I'd be dead!!" She stuck her tongue out at Connie and he chuckled. Sasha squeezed you tightly and you hugged her back gently and a short time after she pulled away and started bickering with Connie.
"Hello Annie..." you slightly waved at her "Oh... Hello.." she replied as she quickly glanced at you. You saw Jean coming over "Jean! Is it true you're joining the scouts?" Armin asked "Yeah." He replied "Why? Aren't you scared?" Sasha asked "It's just my choice. I'm not like that suicidal maniac though..." Jean said. "Everyone! Face the platform!" everyone followed the order and gathered up near the platform. You stood next to Armin and a tall blonde man walked up.
"I am Commander Erwin Smith of the Scout Regiment. Today is the day you choose a regiment so I am here to invite you to join the Scouts. I'm sure that after this attack you know the horror of it... as well as the limits of your abilities. However, through this battle humanity has gained something for an advance towards victory, and yes I am speaking of Eren Jaeger. He is on our side and he has helped us and he has given us a way to learn the truth behind the titans as well." Commander Erwin said and your eyes widened and everyone let out small gasps.
"We have learned that in his basement in Shiganshina, there is the information and truth of the titans. If we get there we will be able to find the truth. We will head back to Shiganshina and that will mean taking back Wall Maria." he began to explain a plan to take a different route since Trost is no longer an option. "Those who will join a different regiment may leave." He said and many began murmuring and many left. You looked at Armin and he had a serious expression "Are you sure?" You whispered and he smiled and nodded.
As people began passing you to leave, their faces made you rethink your decision and you saw Jean was too... 'No, no, no y/n! You have to do this for your grandpa... You need to do this for him...' you tried telling yourself as many looked at you with concerned faces as you stayed in place... You saw how they ate him... You saw how they ate your comrades... You saw... And if you join the Military or Garrison you'd still be helping in some way right...?
You felt your heart beating fast 'I trained enough to join the scouts... I can handle the Titans right...? Can I really? Should I leave-' You gritted your teeth as you turned around and watched as people left. 'No. I'm going to join... I didn't go through all that to chicken out and leave. Grandpa... I'm finally going to do it.' you smiled and looked up at the sky as you turned back around and put on a stern face. "All of you here are hereby accepted as new members of the Scout Regiment! This is a genuine salute. Dedicate your Hearts!" Commander Erwin shouted "Yes sir!" You yelled back and put your fist over your heart and semi-smiled. You saw Sasha and Krista crying and you felt bad for them "You're all brave soldiers. I respect you from the bottom of my heart." He said and left the platform. There were only 18 new Scout members.
Sasha and Jean dropped to their knees and Armin looked scared "It's too late to back up now." you poked at his cheek and he nervously smiled. You noticed Mikasa was going to come this way but she stayed still... She was probably just going to talk to Armin but obviously didn't since you were there. You slipped your hand in Armin's and stared at his beautiful blue eyes "This is a big step... I'm glad my friends will be in this with me. I'm glad you'll be in this with me as well." Armin said as he put your hand up to his cheek.
Although you tried taking what he said positively, you couldn't help but think he was wrong. Yes, it's nice that your friends are with you in this but at the same time, it's really not. You'll be able to see how they die, if you go on missions you'll never really know if after it's done if they'll still be alive. You think it's best to start distancing yourself from them... You don't want to go through that same feeling and pain when the only family you had died , when you saw Armin being dropped into the titans mouth, and when Eren had supposedly died. And those "Friends" you had now were starting to feel like family...and that was a big red flag for you.
' I'll need to start distancing myself from them as soon as I can... Even from Armin. My feelings for him keep on growing bigger every time I see him and I don't know how to handle these emotions...' You started to feel down as you looked into Armin's eyes and as you looked at everyone else "Hey y/n are you alright?" Armin caressed your cheek "I- uh yes I'm fine. I'm going to enjoy your company too." you faked a smile and he squeezed your hands.
You felt uneasy as the rest came towards Armin and you so, you let go of his hand as they approached "Gahhh... I can't believe I'm actually in the scouts now! I wanna go home!" Sasha whined and Connie pouted and agreed with her "It's obviously too late now guys." Reiner shook his head at those who were crying. "Well, I'm ready to kill titans!" Jean smirked and you stared at him confused since you had seen him almost cry-
"Armin seemed like he would almost pee himself!" Jean chuckled "Jean didn't you turn around to leave for a second?" Ymir raised her eyebrow "What? No! I was just counting how many left!" Jean scratched the back of his head. You felt confused when you caught the least expected people staring at you... Bertholdt...and Reiner...? "You seem awfully quiet." Reiner said but in a low tone so only you could hear "I've always been." you responded "When you arrived, but it seems like your friends have changed you." he raised an eyebrow as Bertholdt just watched "They're... they're not my friends..." you said almost struggling to say it.
"Ah... I see. You're like us... We're not here to make friends either." He said and Bertholdt looked at him weirdly "I guess we have that in common." you replied and Reiner was about to say something else but Jean interrupted "Hey! Y/n say something...! You've been quiet... I insulted Armin like five times and you didn't say anything...!" Jean furrowed his eyebrows "Oh I was quite distracted." you fake smiled. For some reason, you felt like it was better to lie than to say you were speaking to Reiner. It was weird but you just had some type of feeling and when you turned to Reiner he smiled and nodded which made you more confused with yourself.
"I'm going to head to sleep... Goodnight everyone." You waved at everyone and everyone wished you a good night also. You walked back alone, well you thought you were walking alone until you had punched Armin in the face "Holy shit! I didn't know you were here!" you ran to help him "I was beside you the whole time..." Armin replied massaging his cheek "I'm sorry I didn't see you until I turned around. I'm so sorry." You massaged his cheek and noticed you had made a cut "Shit... come in I'll treat that." you didn't give him time to reply and you grabbed his hand and brought him inside your room.
You sat Armin on your bed and brought your first aid kit and started treating the cut "Sorry that I scared you." Armin nervously chuckled "What? No don't apologize it was my fault that I didn't see you. I'm sorry." you frowned and Armin slightly grabbed your chin and kissed you. It was a small kiss but it made you feel so many butterflies and you felt your face heat up "Apology accepted!" He smiled. 'Shit how am I supposed to move on from him?' you thought for a second "You've been spacing out a lot... Are you sure you're okay?" Armin asked "I don't know what's gotten into me sorry. But yeah I'm fine I think." you patted his head.
"You know... If you're comfortable with it you can tell me anything. I'll be here for you." Armin smiled "Well... Uhm. I don't know... N-nothing's wrong but thank you." You slightly smiled. You couldn't tell him... He stared at you with his big blue eyes and he looked so adorable and even if you didn't know what you guys were, you would feel like if you were breaking up with him. "Oh okay. If something comes up tell me!" he said and you nodded quickly "Well I'm gonna head to bed also. Have a good night and thanks for treating my wound!" Armin smiled and you blushed "Goodnight Armin... Sorry again." you waved and he left your room.
You locked the door and sat in front of it 'How did I fall for him so quickly!? What am I going to do? What if something happens to him oh god I wouldn't be able to handle the pain I would feel. But I also can't just stop talking to him and the rest. Shit. I hate this. If only I hadn't defended Eren he wouldn't have introduced me to his friends...and I wouldn't be going through this now. Well, shit y/n now you're blaming others! Ugh, I hate this!' you stood up frustrated and threw yourself onto your bed, and felt a tear go down your cheek.
You ignored it and acted strong "I'm gonna take a shower to relax," you said and stood up and showered. After your shower, you suddenly thought of Mikasa..? 'Oh yeah I guess I still have to speak with her. Even though I really don't want to it seems like Armin wants me to talk it out with her. If it makes Armin happy I guess I'll talk to her...' You turned on your side and slowly you fell asleep.
