A LONG TIME AGO, the people of China were living their lives like they had always done. Young women were made to bring honour to their family and tested by the matchmaker while their husbands go off to war, fighting for their country and the emperor.

Y/n lived in one of the villages in China with her parents and her grandmother. Her best friend was a boy, the boy she's loved since childhood. Her life had been normal till her old father was assigned to fight in the war against the huns.

And since her best friend was going in place of his own father, she had no one else until she decided she'd cut her hair and take her father's armour to take his place in the war, keeping her secret hidden from all the men.

With the help of a dragon and a cricket, she fights against the huns, becomes the hero of China and reveals the feelings she's had for a long time.
