The three days that Josephine was gone felt like hell to Donatello. He missed her voice, her scent, her. He had been searching everywhere, along with her brothers and Adam.
He was sitting in the brother's office discussing where she would possibly be. They knew that she wasn't taken out of the country because they checked the cameras at the international airport the private runways. She wasn't seen there and they knew it was true because Thorne checked the authenticity of the videos.
It was a relief knowing that she was still in the country, however, America is a large place and there is no guarantee that she is still in New York. Hell! She could be in Oregon.
At this point, Donatello was basically lost in rage, anger and worry. He wanted to kill his men every time they came back with nothing.
He sighed and slouched in his seat, bringing his hands to his head. He pulled his hair in frustration. No one was going to comment on his because of what happened two days ago. One of his men had told them that he found her but it turned out to be a false lead and Donatello lost it. He tortured the man before killing him. Another instance was when Anatoly made a joke about how he was going to be bald by the time they found her. Donatello punched him in the face and cracked his cheekbone. From then on, no one said anything.
"How the f*ck three very powerful Mafias are not able to find one girl?" Vesper groaned as he rubbed his neck. He has been sitting there since six in the morning and it was now two in the afternoon.
It was true. The Italian, the Russian and the British Mafia were all actively looking for Josephine, Mariam and Anton. Yet, no one has reported anything.
"This is ridiculous!" Hayes said, throwing his hands up. "We should have been able to locate them by now. What if we have a traitor," He suggested.
They clenched their jaws at the thought of someone betraying them.
"Sh*t. It is possible," Harrison voiced angrily.
They tried to think about who could be the traitor but came up short.
Donatello stood up and flipped Vesper's desk in anger and frustration when he couldn't come up with a name.
"Dude, that is not going to help. How do you think Josephine is going to react when she finds out you almost destroyed her home because you already trashed three rooms and broke countless glasses when you chucked them at the wall," Adam spoke.
Donatello calmed down at the mention of her name. Adam's words were true though. She would reprimand him when she hears about what he has done to her house. He can already see her pointing her tiny finger in his face and cursing him to the moon. He could see the adorable crinkle in her forehead she gets when angry and her pout.
They all sighed in relief when they saw that he had calmed his breathing and they could see the lovey-dovey look in his eyes. If it had been any other situation they would have cringed in disgust because he was thinking about their little sister.
Their little moment of peace was suddenly ruined when someone barged into the office. The woman was panting slightly and sweat trailed down her face. She looked like she ran the world's longest race. She was a part of Adam's Mafia.
"What is the meaning of this?" Vesper demanded an answer. He made it clear no one was to enter his office without his permission.
"I...I am sor-sorry, sir, but I have n-news," The woman announced as she tried to catch her breath. She placed her hands on her knees in an attempt to let oxygen into her lungs.
"Spit it out!" Hayes ordered.
The lady gulped and bowed her head. "I did not find Ms. Arcane but-" She was cut off by Harrison. "Then what the f*ck are you doing here?" He yelled.
Theo smacked his brother's head. "Let her finish before you jump to conclusions, brother," He said calmly and motioned for the lady to continue what she was saying.
She cleared her throat. "I did not find Ms. Arcane but I found your father. I saw him speaking to a German. I don't speak the language but I managed to record some of their conversation. Well, in a video really," She said.
Adam narrowed his eyes at her. Her name is Nora and she has worked for him for five years. He trusts her and her decisions. However, she just let the Bianchi's father walk.
"So, you just let our father walk?" Theodore voiced Adam's thought.
Nora shook her head. "Of course not, sir. I am not stupid. I put a tracker in his car and I was following the Germans but I think they realized that, so I stopped tailing them," She explained.
She took out her phone, pressing somethings on it and gave it to her boss. It showed a red dot and a map of New York.
She pointed to the red dot and continued speaking, "This is Arturo. The place he is currently at is an abandoned factory. At first, I thought he was hiding but then I remembered something. A few years ago I was on a mission and I found out some information about the Germans. That factory belongs to the German Mafia."
She looked at them for answers. Anatoly sighed. He had been quiet the entire time, thinking. His brother loved to take his victims to abandoned places.
"We knew for some time that Arturo worked with the Germans," He told the woman.
She nodded and picked up her phone and played the video recording.
The recording showed Arturo and two pale Germans.
(I did not put the translation under the German because it would be translated by a character later on in the chapter.)
"-hat gute Arbeit geleistet. Er ist sehr glücklich und würden Sie sehr belohnen." Arturo said, patting one of the men's shoulder.
"Danke, mein herr," The man said, wearing a proud look on his ghastly face.
The other man, however, looked slightly concerned. "Eine Frage, was hat er mit ihr vor?" He asked Arturo.
Arturo glared at him. "Das geht dich nichts an. Du wurdest bezahlt, oder?"
The man stiffly nodded and then walked to a black SUV, leaving Arturo there, who soon also left.
The video ended there.
"Anybody understood what they said?" Theo asked, crossing his arms.
Adam nodded and everyone looked at him questionably. He shrugged his shoulders. "Josephine made our friends and I learn different languages as a precaution," He answered.
"So, what the hell did they say?" Thorne asked.
Adam sighed. "Arturo was saying that the two men did a good job for something. He said that they would be rewarded greatly and that someone is happy. A male. Then one of the Germans asked what was 'he' going to do with a female and Arturo shut him down. They didn't mention any names, only referring to the pronouns 'he' and 'her'. That is basically everything they said," Adam translated.
"Hey, can you replay the video?" Thorne asked, deep in thought.
Nora replayed the video.
Thorne paused it and showed it to everyone. "Look at the bumper sticker. I think I've seen that somewhere before," He revealed, before typing something on his laptop.
He turned the laptop to everyone. "This is the vehicle that took Josephine. The bumper sticker matches the one in the video. The license plate is different but everything else is the same," He explained.
"I think the 'he' they were talking about is Anton," Anatoly said. "He likes abandoned buildings and that is where Arturo is right now. I think Josephine and Mariam are being kept there and Arturo is working for Anton."
Donatello nodded. "I agree and even if they are not there, we would at least get that son of a b*tch, Arturo and he could have information on their whereabouts."
"And if they are there?" Adam asked, raising an eyebrow.
Donatello smiled darkly, sending shivers down their spines. "If they are there, then we kill each and everyone in the most painful way possible for taking my love from me, but not before getting Josephine and Mariam out and ensuring that they are safe," He growled.
He was finally going to get some blood on his hands.
