Kamzan just got out of his office after he prayed the isha prayer(five of five times prayer)then suddenly officer Nico blocked his way"what happened officer Nico,you haven't started the interrogation yet?"
Since he went to conference during the day, they needed to interrogate her on the night.He asked Officer Nico to inform Yerein and to be ready for interrogation but officer Nico came back with his face in a state of shocked or more like he had witnessed a miraculous event.
"The thing is.."Officer Jake joined the conversation of the two soldiers,he walked nearer to them and repeated officer Nico's statement but in an interrogative way"the thing is?"
"what is it?"captain Kamzan asked while eyeing both officer Nico and officer Jake
"she is praying" officer Nico answered with his eyes full of wonder.
"she what?hahaha,are you kidding me?" Officer Jake laughed hard on what he heard.
"I am not joking here officer Jake,she was wearing a prayer attire with her prayer mat"Officer Nico interjected.He didn't understand how officer Jake could put humor on the sacred thing.It was a sign of disrespect, especially to his captain.
"I mean bro,she is a terrorist did she pray to Allah or to shaitan?"after a moment of getting no reaction from officer Nico and captain Kamzan,officer Jake finally noticed the uncomfortable silence he made because of his insensitive joke.
Officer Nico and officer Max were the only soldiers knew about Kamzan's true religion and even though the terrorist was the caused on why Kamzan's lived alone while continuing his life, he never abandoned his religion because he knew evil deeds and Islam were two contradictory words" Officer Jake lower down your prejudices,I'll be on my office,call me if she is done" captain Kamzan said while diverting his gaze to officer Nico
"Yes captain"officer Nico answered his captain with full of respect.He could sense that his captain was not impressed by the sense of humor of officer Jake.
Captain Kamzan gave a disappointed glance to officer Jake before he entered his office"did...did I say something wrong?"when officer Jake realized that he brewed the awkward atmosphere he felt somehow guilty of his action.
"Ask your tongue"officer Nico answered before leaving him alone.

After she prayed, the interrogation started again and her suffering started too.

She took all the painful whip.While facing the wall, she received all the hits.This was not her first time to be whipped.They kept on doing it for four weeks now, and she wondered if she still had her back on because she felt like they were whipping her soul.
The burning sensation could be felt on her back until it penetrated inside her soul, but she accepted it all.Captain Kamzan walked nearer to her "your pain will be over if you start to say the truth"
Yerein looked at him with full of fire and hatred in her eyes"I am saying the truth"
Officer Malina struck again without waiting for the signal of captain Kamzan.
Captain Kamzan witnessed the agony of Yerein for the first time, when the hard rubber made contact with her back he saw her winced and closed her eyes."officer Malina hit only after my signal"
"A I am sorry captain" captain Kamzan noticed that her face was suffering from unbearable pain now, but she kept on saying her mantra"I am innocent"
"enough"Kamzan spoke to stop the whipping,
Officer Malina asked recklessly"already?"
Captain Kamzan gave officer Malina a disapproving look."I know you are tired, officer Malina,you can go now"
Officer Malina exited the cell, but she knew that the concern was not for her.She knew that the girl inside was trying to act innocent to avoid the punishment.
After officer Malina left,captain Kamzan spoke again."contemplate tonight,you will die here before you can go back to your husband"
Yerein gave him her most dangerous look"I am innocent,I am not protecting anyone here" Yerein said slowly with full of certainty in her voice.
But captain Kamzan still untamed of her words"the evidence against you is very strong,the only thing to lessen your punishment is to betray your heart and that is to abandon the man you love"if for the past few weeks there was a hint of doubt on captain Kamzan's judgement ,this was slightly changed when he received the copy of her file.She was indeed a terrorist, her linked to terrorism was through tying her string of heart to Shiko Kazi,the most wanted terrorist.
Yerein surrendered, she didn't answer anymore,it's useless and tiring.
"Take a rest,you will be receiving another hit tomorrow" She got confused about the man disappearing from her vision. He was good and bad,cruel and kind.He was the epitome of "transformer",he didn't stay on one character, he kept on transforming.
The punishment was not over yet, but he stopped by the time he saw the agony on her face.
Yerein couldn't help but think if he was a Muslim,he looked like one,almost all the military men she saw wore a cross necklace but captain Kamzan wore nothing.If he was just a Muslim man he could help her.She could tell him the truth.But captain Kamzan seemed out of her league, he was blinded by the evidence.She already tried to seek help before, but her effort was rendered void by this man.
He might look like a Muslim, but not a practicing one"astagfirullah,I should not judge him" her last words before she fell asleep due to fatigue.

"What happened buds, you seem disturbed lately?"officer Max asked officer Nico while eating the meat.They are in the restaurant now, they decided to take their dinner outside for a change.
"Nothing"officer Nico didn't want to talk about his agony.
While captain Kamzan was on the phone standing a few meters away from them and sometimes threw a glance at his companions. His superior was asking him about the updates regarding Yerein's case.He was suffering from a dilemma lately.His mind told him to judge logically, but his heart told him to check his conscience.Everything was great when he was just a stoned-hearted captain, but though he was still like that there was a drop of confusion on the latest case he was assigned with.The evidence was enough to convince him, but it took many more reliable evidence to convince his heart.To say the least, he was inside the cobweb now.
“There is something,I am your buddy,I can sense that" officer Max continued to ask officer Nico while drinking his fruit juice
“She prays” Officer Max looked at officer Nico,in his mind,he was asking if since when his buddy started to become a stupid man.
"Of course officer Nico you told us already"officer Max rolled his eyes.He hated Math, but he was good at it but the subject he hated the most was history, for him, it was a waste of time to go back to the past over and over again ,instead of studying them why not just create new memories and cherish the present? While remembering his youthful days, he heard officer Nico talk again.
"I saw it with my own eyes"officer Nico let go of the words while capturing the scene where he saw a rare thing that was being done by a terrorist.
"I guess it's natural because she is a Muslim" for officer Max what Yerein did was a normal thing.Though as a Christian he wasn't the religious one, but he prayed sometimes.
"But she is a terrorist?"officer Nico was still in the whirlwind of confusion.This was the reason he always protected the woman, not just because of Fragya, but he didn't also want to punish her for the crime of her husband.
"Don't talk like that;you remind me of idiot Jake"
"How can she pray? And kill at the same time?, how can she kill if she fears the one who gives life and takes life?" As a result of officer Nico's confusion, he bombarded officer Max with his branches of questions.
"Maybe because she is not a terrorist,I mean yeah it's impossible because she looks kind and innocent" officer Max had hidden thoughts too, but he was careful to unveil it,he didn't want to create a gap with his captain,he was already told by him that they needed to focus on the burden of proof.
"But we have evidence"officer Nico reasoned out,their scenario was like they were brainstorming inside the classroom.
"What if she had been framed up?"This thought was the first thing that popped up in officer Max's mind when she met Yerein in the white moon camp.
"Your answer is based from pity"captain Kamzan butted in trying to act cool with the topic; of course he wouldn't tell them about his dilemma because he was the mighty captain after all ,but if these two humans could peek inside his heart and mind, they will be shocked to see his disarranged thoughts lately.
"No captain I am answering based from what I believe,you have a point officer Nico,if you fear your Lord,you are afraid to kill anyone because you know He can see you,then maybe she is really innocent"
Officer Nico just nodded while busy feeding his hungry stomach,while captain Kamzan didn't answer.He didn't want to agree, but he didn't want to disagree either.He just looked at his buddies and continued to wander to the forest of his own thoughts.
