Ryuji POV
I open my eyes and see that I'm in some room.
"Where am I?" I think
I walk around the room until I eventually come across a door. I open and and inside...are all my friends and family lying in a pile...dead.
"No! Not this nightmare again!" I think
"Ryuji, you could have saved us" Cap's voice says
"S-Stop it!" I shout
"You're nothing but a failure" Katsuki's voice says
"I-I'm not a failure!" I shout
"You're just a quirkless boy in a heap of scrap metal. How could you ever expect to be a hero?" Toru's voice says
"I-I can come up with something!" I say
"If only you were stronger. Then maybe I would still be alive" Midnight's voice says
"I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean for things to end up like this!" I say
My mind is filled with the dying voices of my friends and family as I collapse to my knees and scream.
"I'm sorry!" I say as I wake up
I look around and see that I'm in my dorm room.
"Sigh...That same nightmare, it's been haunting me ever since I found out about Midnight's death" I say to myself
I look at the time and see that it's 3AM.
"Yeah...I won't be able to go back to sleep. Might as well do some work" I say
I get out of bed and get back to work on project Alpha.
Hours later...
"Sir, you've got two emails in your inbox" Arvin says
"Read em to me" I say
"The first one is from Ms.Hatsume. She says that she might've come up with something regarding that shrinking and growing device you two talked about on New Year's Eve" he says
"Tell her I'm busy with other projects right now" I say
"Right away, sir. The second one is from the Ministry of Defense" he says
I'm quite for a moment as I process what he said.
"Mind repeating that?" I ask
"It's an official email from the Ministry of Defense. They'd like for you to come to Ichigaya for a very important meeting" he says
"The Ministry of Defense, wants to have a meeting with me, a U.A student?" I ask
"That is correct, sir" he says
"Huh...I knew I was popular but I didn't think that spread to the government" I say
"Are you going to accept the meeting?" He asks
"Yeah, it's not like school started back up yet. U.A is still recuperating and dealing with other matters" I say
"I'll send a response email right away" he says
"You do that. I guess I should start getting ready" I say
I change into some appropriate clothing and call myself a car.
"Alright Arvin, make sure my room is on complete lockdown. Nobody goes in without my permission" I say
"Understood, sir" he says
I make my way down to the common area and when I get there, I see Uraraka just sitting on the couch doing nothing. I look at her face and see that same sad look in her eyes that she's had for a while now.
"Izuku leaving must be hitting her pretty hard..." I think
I then get an idea.
"Maybe she needs a distraction. I know that distracting myself with my work always makes me forget about my problems for a short while" I think
I approach her and when I'm behind her I tap her shoulder.
"Oh, hello Takashi. Sorry for not noticing you sooner, I was lost in thought" she says
"Uraraka, I need your help!" I say in a panicked tone
"With that?! Is something wrong?! Did something happen?!" She asks now also panicking
"I need you to be my assistant!" I say
"Huh?! What do you mean assistant?" She asks
"I'm going to a meeting with the Ministry of Defense, and just like every rich person, I need an assistant" I explain
"The Ministry of Defense?! I-I don't think I should be there for something like that" she says
"Nonsense! You're the only person that could count on for this!" I say
"Wh-Why me? Wouldn't Toru or at least Momo be better for this?" She asks
"While Yaoyorozu is the most attuned to rich people stuff out of all of you, she lacks a certain...oomph" I say
"And what about Toru? I'm sure you'd rather your girlfriend be your assistant" she says
"I could go on and on about how I'd love to have her go with me. But to be an assistant for a rich person, you've gotta have a certain...appearance. While I'm not going to go into details about your appearance, because of obvious reasons, just know that you fit the bill perfectly" I say
"I still don't know..." I say
"Did I mention that since you'll be working for me, I'd be paying you quite the pretty penny" I say
It's almost as if her eyes turn to yen signs.
"I'll do my best!" She says
"Awesome, now then if you're gonna play the part, you need to look the part" I say
"R-Right! I can wear that dress I wore to I-Island!" She says
She gets off the couch and starts to rush off.
"Woah there! That is to fancy of clothing for a business meeting" I say while pulling her back
"Oh...well I don't have any other clothing like that. Those types of clothes are really expensive..." she says
"Well good thing you're boss is rich, generous, and handsome. Emphasis on the handsome" I say
"No way, I can't let you buy clothes for me! Especially expensive clothes!" She says
"You sound like Toru when we first met. I literally have all the money I could ever imagine. Hell, even right this second I'm making money. So I think I could spare a few yen here and there" I say
"I forget just how rich you are..." she says
"Then it's settled! Let us make a stop at my favorite clothes store!" I say
Uraraka and I head to the car and we stop at a very high class clothing store.
"Alright, now go in there and ask the employee with blue hair to help you out. Tell her than you're Ryuji Takashi's assistant. And here, use my card" I say
I give her my credit cards and she carefully takes it from me.
"I've never held this much money before..." she says while looking at the card
"You can gawk later, hurry up and buy clothes. I don't want to be late for my meeting" I say
"Y-Yes, sir!" She says
One shopping trip later...
Uraraka comes out of the store in new clothing and an exhausted look on her face.
"So, how'd it go?" I ask
"It was a whole new world..." she says
She takes out my card and holds it out to me.
"Here's your card back..." she says
"Hold on to it for me. You're my assistant so you've gotta carry things I don't feel like carrying" I say
"I'll try not to lose it, sir" she says
"It's not like I don't have more..." I think
As we're heading over to Ichigaya, I fill Uraraka in on things she'll need to know and what she'll have to do as my assistant.
"Think you could handle all that?" I ask
"That's a lot of things to do in one day" she says
"Well, this is a busy time. We've all gotta do our part somehow" I say
"Yeah...all of us..." she says with a sad look in her eyes
"So, Uraraka, we've never really talked one on one before. I've mostly just stuck to the Bakusquad while you stuck with Izuku and all them. So tell me about yourself, I've gotta know about my assistant" I say trying to distract her
"Well theres not much to say. I come from a pretty poor family so I decided to become a hero so that I could make enough money to support them and give them a better life" she says
"I admire that. I became a hero to prove to society that quirkless people aren't helpless" I say
"Can...Can I ask you something?" She asks
"Go ahead, I'm an open book. In fact, I'm thinking about writing my autobiography. It'll be called,"A few cheap tricks and a cheesy one liner. The awesome life of Ryuji Takashi". I think it'd sell pretty well" I say
"If you were having second thoughts about being a hero...what would you do?" She asks
I think for a moment.
"Hmm...Well, I think about why I wanted to become a hero. That and the support of Toru helped me get rid of any doubts" I say
"You've had doubts about being a hero before?" She asks
"Oh yeah! I used to get them all the time. I remember after the USJ incident I cried because I was beaten by that Nomu. It just shows how easily doubts can get into your head and mess you up. But, that's what the people you care about are for. They'll help you when you're having doubts" I say
She doesn't say anything but I assume she's thinking about my words.
"Hypothetically, if you did quit being a hero there's some rich kid with a job opening for an assistant that'll always be open. Heard he pays well" I say
"Heh...thanks Takashi" she says
We eventually arrive at the Ministry of Defense building, we walk up to the front doors where we're stopped.
"Halt! I need to see your classifications!" The guard says
"I'm Ryuji Takashi and this is my assistant Ochaco Uraraka. We're here for a meeting with the Minister of Defense" I say while showing him the email
He looks it over and after a second he hands me my phone back and steps aside to let us in.
"Wow...it's pretty cool in here" Uraraka says
"Eh, I've seen better" I say
We're escorted to a room where inside is the minister himself sitting at his desk.
"Ah, Ryuji Takashi. I'm glad you could make it" he says
"Hello minister. I hope you don't mind my assistant, she's recently hired" I say
"Not at all, this shouldn't take long" he says
Uraraka and I take a seat in the chairs in front of his desk.
"Alright minister, let's get straight to the point here. What do you need from me?" I ask
"Ryuji Takashi. The son of Toshi Takashi and the world's first quirkless hero" he says
"I'm flattered that you know so much about me" I say
"I've brought you here today to make a request. As you know, Japan is falling into dark times" he says
"You could say that again. It feels like something straight of of a DC comic book" I say
"Indeed. And there's nothing I want more than to help bring Japan out of these dark times. Which brings me to my request, we're aware of this so called "Arc Reactor" that you've built to power U.A High School. We'd like you to build an even bigger version that could power all of Japan" he says
"And this could help how?" I ask
"We feel as though if we stated introducing newer and cleaner sources of energy then it'd be one step closer to recovery" he says
"This doesn't help with the current villain problem though. Be honest with me, you just want the clean energy, don't you?" I ask
He doesn't respond and the two of us stare at each other for a moment.
Uraraka POV
"I can feel the pressure in this room! Are all business meetings like this?!" I think
Ryuji POV
"Alright, I'll do it. I'll send you a list of all the supplies I'll need. But be ready, it'll cost quite the pretty penny" I say
"I'll be sure to get what you need" he says
"Good! I assume the shipment will be here soon?" I ask
"The supplies will be here in 2-3 business days" he says
"Good enough. Come now Uraraka, I've got some blueprints to make" I say
I stand up and leave the room as Uraraka rushes after me.
"Why did you agree if he was lying about the reasons?" She asks once we've left the building
"Because I'm thinking beyond Japan" I say
"What do you mean?" She asks
"If Japan introduces this new and clean energy source to the world, other countries are clearly gonna want it as well. And once every country has one, that'll mean there'll be less fights over materials needed for energy consumption. And that means I'm one step closer to achieving world peace" I say
"Wow...I didn't think about it like that. That's...That's actually really good!" She says
"Sometimes heroism is done outside a suit" I say
We get back to the car and once we're in, I put in directions to a fancy hotel.
"Alright, guess that means we go back to U.A for a couple days" she says
"U.A? Uraraka, we're on a business trip. We're staying in the best hotel possible. In separate rooms of course" I say
She's quite for a moment before passing out in her seat.
"Huh...guess I broke her" I say
The car pulls off and make it's way to the hotel.
2 days later...
"Sir, you've got a call from the Minister of Defense" Arvin says though my earpiece
"Go ahead and answer" I say
"Mr.Takashi, we've got a problem. The materials have been stolen" he says
I drop my glass and it shatters on the ground.
"They've been what now?" I ask...
