𝑪𝑶𝑹𝑫𝑬𝑳𝑰𝑨 𝑨𝑳𝑰𝑪𝑬 𝑳𝑶𝑵𝑮𝑩𝑶𝑻𝑻𝑶𝑴 was at the train station ready for her first day at Hogwarts, with her brother Neville and Grandmother Augusta Longbottom
Augusta Longbottom was the childrens legal guardian, because when Neville was one and Cordelia was a few months old, Frank and Alice Longbottom were tortured to insanity, by the one and only Bellatrix Lestrange
Augusta Longbottom was a strict woman, She kept the children in line, but she was also sweet and caring, she was always by the kids sides
Neville Longbottom was a year older than Cordelia, He was starting his second year at Hogwarts while Cordelia was starting her first, He was a shy boy but he was brave deep insde
Meanwhile Cordelia Longbottom was the oppisite of everone in the family, Augusta told them their parents were very shy and that Neville carried that trait, but Cordelia was loud and annoying, She loved talking to new people and making new friends, She had a good sense of humor and was extreamly loyal and hardworking
Cordelia was very optimistic, Her parents had been touture when they were very young, So Cordelia never knew much about them, But she believed they would come back. She wasnt very open on talking about them coming back because Augusta and Neville always tried to drag the thought out of her mind
But she would always believe they were there somewhere, She talked to the moon every night because she thought that the sane sides of them were beside her, She would talk to the air alone in her room and pretend her parents were there
She new deep down inside that they were never coming back, but she thought the more positive she was the better chance there was
She would cry alone in her room at night praying that when she woke up her mother and father were there making her breakfest
Now she was at the train station watching all of the other happy children with their parents, while she watch them sadly
She idolized her grandmother and thanked her for being there when she needed it
But having her grandma is diffrent that having her kind-hearted mother and father that she had longed for 11 long years
She looked to the right of her family and saw a large family of gingers
They looked so happy hugging eachother, The mother looked as she was hanging sandwiches to all the children, kissing them on the top of the head and waving good-bye
"Those are the Weasleys, Theres a lot of them, There son named Ron is in my year but I dont see him" Neville whispered into Cordelia's ear
Cordelia just nodded trying to draw her attention away from the happy familys and return her attention to her grandmother
"Now Cordelia owl me every week and be yourself, everyone will love you" Augustus assured her as Neville grabbed her hand and pulled her onto the train
She saw several compartments in the scarlet train, some older children and some younger children
Neville had lead her to a compartment at the end of the train containing two people
Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnegan
Dean had always been super kind to Cordelia when her visited the longbottom residence during the summer, SHe found him quite kind. H had been there so much during the summer he had grown into a brother figure
Then there was Seamus, ever since Neville brought him over Cordelia and him did not get along, They would tease eachother and bicker to the point where Cordelia was sent to her room, Seamus tought her many swearword over the summer, she used them a few times causing Neville to cover his ears and Augusta to scowl at her
"Eww, I dont want to be here with this bone head" Cordelia growled guesturing towards Seamus
"Then find your own compartment dweeb" Seamus shot back
"Fine im going to make my own friends" Cordelia said proudly and marched out of the compartment
She scanned all of the compartments, some of them had people with green robes who scowled at her as thy walked by
The ones with yellow robes would wave at her politley and go back to chatting, she liked them alot, They remined her of Neville and she wondered why Neville wasnt wearing a yellow robe
There were some students with blue robes too, They all had their noses in a book looking up every so often to say something about the book and then continuing, They looked extremly smart and wanted to be like them
The last of them had red robes, The talked in a normal comeversation constantly butting and intturupting others then getting into a small verbal argument, This made her really wonder why Neville had a red robe
She finally made a stop at the least full compartment, The compartment consisted of a girl who looked slightly older than Cordelia, she had bushy hair and big brow eyes, she was reading a book called hogwart a history
There we also two identical red headed boys who were fairly older than her, they were whispering and laughing to eachother, she reconized them as two of the Weasleys in the happy family on the platform
There was a third person in the comaprtment who looked about the same age as Cordelia, She also was reconized as a Wealsey in the happy family, She had light orange hair and pastel blue eyes, The girl was sitting cross-legged on the other side of th compartment as the bushy haired girl and the ginger twins
She struggled for a moment before sliding the door open, and staing at them all for a moment
The young ginger girl looked up and looked at her confused
"Can I sit here? All the other compartments are full" She asked the girl
The girl nodded slightly and Cordelia took a seat beside her
"My name is Cordelia Longbottom" Cordelia said sticking her hand out for the girl to shake
The girl tooke her hand and shook it softly
"Im Ginerve Weasley, But I hate the name Ginerva so call me Ginny" She said softly obviously trying to sound confident
The bushy haired girl and the twins looked up and Cordelia with a questioning look, They obviously had not been paying attention to Cordelia as she sat down
"Guys this is Cordelia Longbottom, Cordelia this is Fred and George my older twin brothers, They are in year 4. This is Hermione Granger, she is a friend of my other brother Ron, we cant find him on the train though" Ginny introduced them and they all took turns shaking hands
"I love your name Cordelia, You sound like a charecter in a romance novel I read a couple years ago" The girl called Hermione Granger mentioned
"Thank you" Cordelia smiled softly "Are you in the blue house, you look very smart"
"No, Im in the red house, Gryffindor, The sorting hat wanted to put me in in the blue house but it decided on gryffindor" She told Cordelia who listened intrugied
"I know all about the hogwarts houses, My brothers told me" Ginny told Cordelia
"My brother did'nt tell me much about them, and my grandmother decided to keep the houses for me figure out myself" I answerd her
"Is your brother Neville Longbottom?" Fred asked her giggling a bit
"Dont be rude to Neville, He is an exeptional person" Ginny spat back
"Yes Neville is my older brother" I said giving them an actual answer
"Can I tell you about the houses" Ginny said exitedly jumping in her seat
Cordelia nodded
"Sorry im so exited, but Im always the only person who dosnt know something I feel special when I get to tell someone something" Ginny sighed
"No it's fine, go ahead and tell me" Cordelia smiled motioning Ginny to tell her
"Okay so, first there is gryffindor, The red house, My entire family is in that house so im hoping ill be there too, Their traits are Bravery, helping others, and chivalry."
Cordeila nodded intruiged
"Next there is the yellow house aka Hufflepuff their traits are Hard work, patience, loyalty, and fair play."
Cordelia listened intently
"Then there is the blue house, Ravenclaw, their traits are Intelligence, knowledge, planning ahead, and wit."
She relized why they were reading alot
"Finally there is Slytherins, Most people say they are horrible but most are quite nice, their traits are Ambition, cunningness, heritage, and resourcefulness." Ginny finished
"Wow I wonder what house ill be in" Cordelia wondered out loud
She saw herself in all of the houses, She was brave like a Gryffindor, She was loyal like a Hufflepuff, She was pretty intellegent like a Ravenclaw and finally she was cunning like a Slytherin
Before she could decide what house she wanted to be in something odd flew by the window of the train
It looked like one of the cars that Cordelia saw in the parking lot of the train station
The Weasleys and Hermione looked at the car in shock, and when they saw the people inside their jaws dropped
"What that Harry and Ron or am I halluciating" Ginny muttered while Hermione and the Twins nodded at her comment
"Your brother Ron?" Cordelia asked
"Yeah and his friends Harry" George awnserd Cordelia
"Harry who" Cordelia asked looking around the comaprtment remebering Neville talking about a boy in his year who had a more terrible life than them
"Harry Potter of course" Ginny rolled her eyes
"Harry Potter?" Cordelia swore she knew about him
"Yeah the idiotic boy who lived" Hermione grumbled "You think if he almost died once he would try is best to stay alive"
Cordelia chuckled at the veiw of Fred and George laughing
"I think you look like a hufflepuff" Ginny said all of a sudden
"Really?"
"Yeah, You seem really kind and caring, like a good friend" Ginny suggested
"I can be pretty annoying once you get to know me" Cordelia warned them
"I feel like we will be pretty good friends" Ginny said exitedly
"So Cordelia, What house are your parents in, Most children are in their parents houses" George asked
Cordelia shuffled uncofortably in her seat, Neville had been going to school with the Weasley's for an entire year and it seemed as though he hadnt told anybody, so she thought of the most resonable awnser she coulds think of
"My mum and dad were in Gryffindor" She told them
It wasnt a lie, Cordelias grandmother told Neville and Cordelia alot about their parents in the past, and on of the things she learned is they were in gryffindor
"Maybe you can be in gryffindor with us" Hermione smiled
"You guys seem nice enough" Cordelia joked
Right after that the trolly lady came by asking them if they wanted any candy
"Thank god Harry isnt here, Last year he took all the candy and left none for us, Ginny how do you even have a crush on that git" Fred complained
"I dont like him like that" Ginny said side eyeing Cordelia
Fred and George looked and Ginny confused while Hermione returned to her book
"So Ginny, You have 3 brothers?" Cordelia asked
Ginny chuscked a bit at Cordelias question
"I actually have 6 brothers, Percy is in the prefects compartment right now, Bill works at gringotts in eygpt and Charlie works with dragon, and then we got Fred, George and Ronald who you already know about"
"Geez that must suck" Cordelia said feeling a bit sorry for the girl with no sisters
"Is your brother as bad as mine?" Ginny asked
"No Neville is quite nice actually, Im worse than him, Neville is sweet like a puppy but Im annoying like a parrot, ill admit that"
"Your actually not that annoying, Now that ive known you gor a while" Ginny said
"So do you like THE harry potter" Cordelia asked Ginny with a smirk
"Nope" Ginny said clearly
"Whatever" Cordelia grinned before taking a bite from a liqorice wand
"So Cordelia, Are you a pure-blood?" Hermione questioned
"Yeah" Cordelia responded
"Where do they work" Wondered Fred
"I dont know let me ask Neville" She smiled before leaving the compartment
She made her way to the other-side of the train ignoring everyone in her way
She made me way to Nevilles compartmant and flung the door open
"Hey Delia, Make any-" Dean started
"Shut it air-head, Nevile come with me" She inturuppted him and dragged Neville out of the comparment
Once they made it to an emty comparment she closed the door and stared Neville in the eye
"Delia what do you need" Neville said sounding kind of worried
"Sorry to bother you Neville but I made some friends-"
"Who?"
"Ginny Weasley, Hermione Granger and the Weasley twins"
"Cool"
"As I was saying, they are asking about Mum and dad, I assume you didnt tell anyone" Cordelia said
"I kinda sorta maybe told them that mum and dad work at a grigots in bulgaria so while they are away we live with out granmother" Neville whispered
"Aww Neville, Why would you say that" Cordelia said rubbing his back
"They were all talking about their parents, and I kinda got caught up in my own world for a minute where they were actually normal and just spit it out, all of a sudden it was to late to turn back" He said on the verge of tears
"Do Dean and Seamus know?" Cordelia asked
"They figured it out themselves, They promised they wouldnt tell anyone, I think they forgot anf got wrapped up in my story again"
"Nev if grandma finds out that you said this she will be terribly angry"
"I know, Go back to your friends, you can tell them the truth if you want" He mentioned
"I would but I like the story better" She hugged him then left the compartment
"On Nev also we saw Harry and Ron flying a car into school"
"Im not suprised"
