"𝐈f I should stay
I would only be in your way
So I'll go but I know
I'll think of you every step of the way" Kafeyah sung cleaning around her living room.

Today was Sunday, meaning that it was cleaning day and just like every Sundays Kafeyah was up early bumping R&B music. Back at her parents house she hated when her mother woke her up to clean, but now that she has her own apartment and pays her own bills she doesn't sees it as an obligation no more but as a hobby.

Cleaning was also a coping mechanism whenever she felt off. It helped clean her mind up and keep her busy for a certain amount of time.

" And I will always love you
I will always love you
You
My darling, you" she mopped all around her small apartment.

Kafeyah was finally done with cleaning, but now she was bored. It was Sunday so there wasn't much she could do and her and Ella weren't on the best of terms right now considering the fact that Ella was tired of Kafeyah's bullshits and wouldn't talk to her til she got herself together.

Ella felt useless, but she understood that she couldn't help everybody and that she couldn't be the only one to care, so she distanced herself and started focusing on herself  and her well being before others.

Kafeyah sighed and decided to go take a shower to make time pass.

She grabbed all her stuff and went to the bathroom before connecting her phone to her speakers. She played her R&B playlist and soon Jacquees's voice could be heard in the room.

"Tried my hardest not to hate you
Should've known she wasn't faithful, no oh, oh
Thought you was real, must've mistaked you
Just like your friends, them hoes is fake too, no, oh" she sung before cutting the water on.

Kafeyah stripped out her clothes and put her weave in the shower cap before getting under the hot water.

One thing's for certain (Certain)
And two things for sure (For sure)
Been 'bout my money (Money)
Give a fuck 'bout no hoe, oh (Hoes)

" What do i do now?" she sighed

Kafeyah been done showering about 30 mins ago and she didn't have anything else to do. The whole house was clean, she showered, she didn't need to go grocery shopping...

So she decided to walk around the small park that was around the corner.

She grabbed her keys and phone before leaving her apartment and locking the door. She went down her building steps, and was instantly hit by the cold breeze as she steeped outside.

She began walking to the park in silence, without any music. Kafeyah loved music and played sum everywhere she went, but sometimes she liked to be alone with her thoughts.

As she reached the park she saw that it was actually empty, so she laid down on one of the benches and stared at the sky.

Yeah, didn't write this song, but I'm recordin' with this lead on me
Know it sound strange, but I'ma die for all my dead homies

This reminded her of the times where her and her brother used to sneak out to watch the stars.

" Cmon Feyah, ya' ready?" 13 years old Kamiri whispered, quietly entering young Kafeyah's room.

" Yea i'm ready" she whispered as she put her shoes on

" Okay cmon" he held his hand out

Kafeyah took his hand as they began going down the steps very slowly, so they wouldn't make any loud noise.

Once they reached the bottom of the steps, they opened the front door who was already unlocked and began running to the park.

They laid down on the grass and started at the dark sky, eyeing the stars.

" Bubba you see? that one look like a pot" Kafeyah laughed

" Yea i see princess" he laughed

Without even realizing it, Kafeyah was full blown crying thinking about her brother.

Nobody really know how he feels
I always thought that you would be here

" Aye, you straight?" a familiar voice asked.

Kafeyah turned her head and saw Chino standing there with a look of sympathy on his face.

" Yea i'm fine" she mumbled wiping her tears as she sat up.

Why do I always question God, but I never pray?
I think about you, I end up cryin' on my best days

" Youn' look fine ta' me" he shook his head, " So wassup?" he asked going to sit next to her.

" Why would i tell you something, when i don't even know you?" she chuckled shaking her head

" That's another reason fa' me not to judge you, ion' know yo past nor what you been through" he shrugged

Kafeyah thought about it and he was actually right, he couldn't judge her if he didn't know her personally.

" I was just-just thinking about my brother" she sighed looking down at her lap.

Tryna convince me it get better, naw, naw, naw, naw
I'd be lyin' if I didn't say I really miss my dawgs

" What happened to him?" he asked leaning back.

" He died 3 years ago" she sighed looking up at the sky.

It's so much of pain in us, always feel like I'm givin' up
It ain't the same no more, death brought me anger

" Damn i'm sorry fa' ya' loss" he truthfully told her

" Thank you" she mumbled

" I'm sure he's proud of you from where he is" Chino stated staring at her.

Kafeyah chuckled bitterly and shook her head " He wouldn't be proud of me, shit who would? i can't take care of myself, i barely eat, i don't have a high paying job, i still live in the hood when i promised him i would leave it. There's nothing to be proud of" she shook her head

I'm followed by angels and I got some dyin' love
Soon as I got rich, soon as I got famous

" Yo you can't be talking like that" he shook his head " You alive and at least you have a legal job. Some of these niggas and bitches in this neighborhood can't even say the same mane. Be proud of what you have and what you accomplished. Youn' depend on no nigga, you ain't like these hoes who don't got shit going on for themselves. You should be proud of yourself" he preached

Yeah, why did you leave?
If you was here, how would it be?

" How can you say all that when you don't even know me" she put emphasis on 'me'

" Ion' need ta' know you ta' see it Kafeyah and you hang with my cousin so i know that you respect yourself" he said

" Well thank you Chino" she slightly smiled

" Zymeir-you can call me Zymeir ma" he corrected

Zymeir didn't really let females call him by his real name besides Ella, but he knew that Kafeyah was actually different and not like these other females.

" Well thank you Zymeir" she smiled

" Ya' welcome Kafeyah" he smiled back

Damn he actually have a pretty ass smile, she thought

" Preciate you" he laughed

" Huh?" she stated confused

" You said i have a pretty ass smile ma" he shook his head

" Oh, i didn't mean to say that out loud my bad" she covered her mouth

" You straight" he chuckled

" Well i should probably get going, i don't wanna stay out too much" she said before getting up

" Lemme walk you home, it's getting dark" he stood up as well.

" Okay" she nodded

The both of them began walking to Kafeyah's apartment complex in pure silence, but it wasn't an awkward one, it was a comfortable silence.

" We're here" she said as they stopped in front of her building. " Thank you for walking me home" she added

" You straight ma" he waved her off, " But is you gon let me get that number tho?" he smirked

" Well...i guess it wouldn't hurt" she chuckled " Gimme ya' phone" she added

Zymeir gave her his phone and she saved her name as Feyah🦋.

" I'll see ya' around?" he stated but it was more in a questioning tone.

" Sure" she nodded

" Bet imma see you later" he nodded at her before watching her get step in her building.

Once he saw that she was safe, he began walking back home lowkey smiling to himself. That was the first time Zymeir felt this good while sober.
