I'm sitting in the living room of the Salvatore Boarding house while Damon brings me a cup of tea.
"Here you go, Alyson."
"Thanks." I cup the tea and take a sip
"How are you feeling?" Damon asks taking a seat next to me
"I don't know, Damon. The woman who kidnapped Elena and me is in town and wanting to help us, I killed someone, I'm a werewolf and Mason Lockwood is my dad, who you killed just days ago, and the full moon is coming up so I'm freaking out about that." I take another sip
"If I had known that Mason was your dad, I wouldn't have-" I cut him off
"I know, you wouldn't have killed him. But Klaus would have killed him in his ritual, so either way, I would have never had a relationship with him. Speaking of the woman who kidnapped us, where is Rose?"
"Let me worry about her, you should head to school." He tries to get me to leave
"I'm not going to school, I need to find a way to lock myself up for the full moon. What are your plans for the day?" I ask
"Damon and I are going to see my friend Slater." Rose says as she comes walking in
"And who is Slater?"
"He knows someone in Klaus's inner circle. He can tell us more about the curse and how to save Elena from being killed." She answers
"Looks like we have a lot of problems to solve." I joke
"I'm sorry that you have to go through that, I heard the first transformation is the worst."
"Thanks, that totally makes me feel better." I say sarcastically
"Sorry." She apologizes
"You know what, it's fine. I'm sure I can handle it. I should get going, I have places to find." I give a slight smile
I pick up my bag and throw it across my shoulder.
"Alyson, be careful."
"I'll be fine, Damon. See you later."
I don't why I lied to Damon about going to see Tyler, he is my cousin after all, what could it hurt. It takes me exactly a half hour to get from Damon's to Tyler's. I'm aware that he's not at home but maybe I can come across his mom. As I pull up, I get an incoming call from Caroline.
"Hey, what's up?" I answer
"Hey, I need your help. Remember how Elena said she was going to see Katherine?"
"Much to my dismay, yes. Kind of hard keeping that a secret from Damon, Elena could get seriously hurt." I mentally roll my eyes
"Well, she has asked me to keep Stefan occupied and I need some help with that. Can you come to The Grill?"
"Caroline, I kind of have more important things going on right now. Can't you distract him by yourself?" I question
"What's so important that you need to take care of it right now?" I hear a bit of an attitude
"Did Elena not tell you?"
"Tell me what?"
"You know Tyler's uncle Mason? Turns out that he's my dad and I really need to talk to Tyler about it." I explain
"Alyson, you can't. I told Tyler that I was the only supernatural being in Mystic Falls."
"Caroline... I have to see him, he's my cousin. I'm sorry that I can't help you with Stefan."
Before she can do any convincing I hang up the phone and get out of my car and my way up to the front door. I ring the bell and surprisingly it's Tyler that opens the door.
"Alyson, what are you doing here?"
"We need to talk, it's about your uncle Mason."

"Can I get you any water?" Tyler asks nicely
"No, thank you. Look, I know this might be weird and unexpected but we really need to talk."
"Yeah, sure. What about my uncle Mason?" He asks
"This is kind of random but I think Mason Lockwood is my father."
"My uncle doesn't have a daughter, you must be mistaken." He nervously chuckles
"I know you're a werewolf and I know that Caroline is a vampire. Look, my mom wrote me a letter before she died and she told me who my father is, and it's Mason."
"How do you know about Caroline and me?" He asks
"It doesn't matter how I know, Tyler. I do know that when you killed Sara at the masquerade party, you triggered your curse. I did the same thing a couple of nights ago when I accidentally killed someone in a car crash."
"So you're a werewolf too?" He asks
"Yes and I think that you and I can help each other out."
"How?"
"Do you have anywhere that we could chain ourselves up?" I ask
"We have cellars on the old Lockwood property, we can turn there. I have to put in new reinforcements. Have you talked to Mason at all?" He asks
"No, because I haven't even met him. As I said, I just found out a couple of nights ago when I killed someone that I was even a werewolf. I'm sorry to spring this all on you days before the full moon." I apologize
"This is crazy. First, we find out that you and Elena are half-sisters and now you're my cousin. Then to top it all off we are werewolves with a vampire friend."
"I understand completely. I don't mean to spring this on you and then leave but I do have somewhere to be. Oh, and I would appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone about this."
I get up to leave and Tyler turns to me. "I'll try to contact Mason. Thank you for telling me all of this." He smiles
I take my leave and get back into my car and drive over to Elena's house. I get there and Stefan and Elena are sitting on the steps of her house, Elena's head on his shoulder. I get to the porch and I can see that she was crying.
"Hey, Elena. Are you okay?"
"I will be, Alyson. How'd it go with Tyler?" She changes the subject
"I told him that Mason was my dad and that I know he's a werewolf. Caroline kind of made it hard to explain things since she lied to him but I got it all sorted out." I smile
"And what did Damon think about this trip you made to Tyler's?" Stefan asks
"I didn't tell him. The last thing I need is someone telling me what to do, I needed to talk to Tyler without Damon intervening." I explain
"You know, Alyson. Damon cares about you." Stefan tries to assure me
"I'm sure, but not the way I would like him to." I smile faintly
"Then why are you standing here and talking to us? Go talk to him."
"It's not going to make a difference, Elena, I'm not you." I look towards my hands
Elena gets up off of the porch and randomly pulls me into a hug. After a second she looks at me and smiles.
"Don't say that, Alyson. You are beautiful, smart, sweet, and caring. How could Damon not fall in love with you."
"I agree with Elena, go talk to him and that's coming from me." Stefan adds
"You guys are right, thanks." I smile and leave
"If he hurts her, I'll kill him." I hear Elena say as I get into my car
For the last trip of the night, I make my way to Damon. He might be in love with Elena, but I'm going to show him that there is another person who he could be with. I park in the driveway, a big smile covering my face. On my way into the house, I practice what I'm going to say to him. I can't believe I'm about to tell Damon how I feel. I get to the library and what I see makes the smile immediately drop from my face.
"Holy shit!"
