"I... I can't... remember my home..." I said which surprised Crowley
"You don't remember? Do have anything on you? Like some type of ID or cell phone?" I looked at him with a confused look 'What's a cell phone?' I pat myself to find something useful about me or my home, then I felt something in my pocket
'It's... a pendant...' I was staring at the pendant and I didn't notice that the headmaster was calling for me when he noticed the pendant that I was holding.
"Where did you get that?" Crowley asked and I pointed at my pocket
"Very interesting. This pendant a has a very unique style, it seems we have one clue about you. I'll make sure to more research but for now it's getting late." Crowley said and I put the pendant around my neck
"Where do I sleep? Or do I need to sleep in my coffin?" I asked Crowley
Crowley is thinking about where should I stay "I know! There's actually an unused dorm that you can stay until I find a way to get you home" Crowley said I gave him a small smile "Thank you"
Crowley is leading me to a hall with mirrors with different designs 'These mirrors... they look amazing...' Then she saw mirror that Crowley is heading towards but it doesn't have any designs like the other mirrors have.
When they got close to the mirror, while I was freaking out when Crowley entered the mirror 'H-how... did he do that?!' Then a hand appeared through the mirror, the hand gently grasped my hand and pulled me through. I closed my eyes due to the brightness, when I opened my eyes, I saw a building except it looks abandoned like no one has lived here in decades.
'I bet this place was beautiful... With a bit of work, it'll look beautiful again' I thought
"This is the unused dorm, it should help keep the wind or rain out. I know it's not pleasing to the eye but it has to do for now. Since I'm gracious" Crowley said
"That's fine. I think with a bit of work it'll look nice or beautiful" I said while Crowley smiled
"Well I better get going, I'll be back with some food for you to eat" I nodded and Crowley left
I started to walk to the building when a rain drop fell on her head, she looked up and it started to rain "Oh dear, I better head inside before I catch a cold" I started running to the building
Inside Ramshackle~
'Looks like I have a lot of work to do... I'm gonna cleaning the lounge first before heading upstairs.' I started picking up some books and putting up the chair and table 'I need to find a broom and dust pan' I was about to head upstairs when I heard the door opening "Hyiii! It's really coming down!" I turned around and saw a cat with blue flaming ears and a bow around it's neck
"Gah! It's you! The coffin girl!" The cat said while I tilted my head 'Coffin girl...?'
"What are you doing here coffin girl?!" The cat yelled
"I started living here, but who are you and why are you calling me coffin girl? I have a name, it's Maria" I said
"I'm the Great Grim! I'm a genius who is destined to be a great magician! Also I call you coffin girl because you came out of the coffin after I burnt the lid!" The cat known as Grim said
"I see, I'm heading upstairs to find a broom. You can follow me if you want" I said and started to walk upstairs while Grim is on my shoulder
I was walking down the hall to find the door that has a broom and a dust pan, but I have a chilling sensation on back like something is watching me. When I turned around, Grim and I froze because I see three ghosts, one is fat, the second one is skinny and the third one was short
"We haven't had a guest in so long..." The skinny ghost said
"I'm itching for some action!" The fat ghost said
"G-g-g-ghoooooooosssttts!" Grim screamed
"The people living here got scared of us and left" The short ghost said
"We've been looking for some more ghost pals. How about you guys?" The fat ghost said
"Oh dear. I'm sorry but we're aren't ready to become ghosts yet" I said
"The Great Grim isn't scared of some ghosts!" Grim yelled and started breathing out blue flames but I noticed he closed his eyes while doing it, it did scatter the ghosts though
"Grim, you need to stop closing your eyes or you might burn this building down with us inside" I said
"Shut up! Don't order me around!" Grim shouted at me
"I'll give you a can of tuna if you listen and I'll ask Crowley to let attend school" I said
"Wha!? You mean it?!" I nodded which made Grim feel motivated now "Okay! Tell me where to hit Maria!" Grim said
"To your left!" I replied
After a couple of minutes, we managed to drive the ghosts away
"E-eh...? We... won?" Grim asked
I smiled "Yes Grim, we won. I'm proud of you"
"Hmph! Well, of course we won, you have the Great Grim by your side!" Grim puffed out his chest with pride while I roll my eyes
Then we heard the door opening down stairs "Good evening Maria!" I ran towards the stairs and saw Crowley with a floating tray of food and with some groceries "I have brought you some food to eat and some clothes for you to change into."
Crowley noticed Grim on my shoulder "You're the monster that ran amuck during the entrance ceremony! I threw you out of the school, what are you doing here?!"
Grim looked a bit upset "Hmph! You should grateful that I exterminated the ghost problem!"
Crowley looked confused "What do you mean by that?" He asked but thought for a moment "Now that you mention it, there were some prankster ghosts that live here, so many students stayed away from this dormitory and that's why it's now abandoned. I'd forgotten that, however, you two managed to work together to get rid of them.
I told Crowley how I promised Grim a can of tuna and hopefully letting him enroll here, Crowley crossed his arms and thought about it "I'd like the two of you to show me how you got rid of the ghosts, then we'll about enrolling the raccoon" Crowley said and it made Grim very angry
"I told you I'm not a raccoon! Besides the ghosts are already gone! Now. Give. Me. Tuna!" Grim yelled
Crowley smiled "Then I'll be the ghost. If you beat me, I'll give you cans of tuna. For I am gracious." He pulled a bottle, gulping it down and changed into a ghost
Grim didn't want to fight again but I told him if he fights again he will not only be enroll to the school but another can of tuna, Grim grumbled and sighed "This is for the last time! You absolutely, absolutely have to give me tuna!"
We finally beat him "Sigh... Finally..." I said while Grim was panting
"I can't believe it... there is one person who can command monsters" Crowley said while I looked at him with a confused look on my face "What do you mean by that?" I asked curiously
He ignored me and I sighed "Can Grim stay with me? I know he caused some trouble before I woke up but I'll make sure to keep an eye on him so he won't cause anymore trouble" I asked
Crowley thought for a moment "Alright"
Grim looked very happy "Really?!" But I have a feeling there's gonna be a catch
Crowley spoke again "However" I was right "I can't simply allow someone, let alone a monster into the school who wasn't selected by the Dark Mirror. Also I can't let you be a freeloader here until you return to your world"
"I see. But I knew I shouldn't just stay and do nothing, I was about to ask if you have any simple jobs that I can do for the mean time" I said which surprised Crowley
"Oh my. How sweet of you, I do have one job that you can do for the mean time. I want you to some maintenance and some odd jobs around the campus and from what I see you did a decent job cleaning. Would you two like to become handymen of the school? You get special permission to remain at school grounds and I'll let you both go to the library to do some research on how to get home or study whatever your heart desires. For I am gracious." Crowley said
Grim was unsatisfied, saying he wants to wear a fancy uniform and be a student but Crowley told if he doesn't like the idea then he'll toss Grim out again which made him go silent and accepted the offer.
Crowley was about to talk again when my stomach growled and I felt embarrassed "That's right! I almost forgot, I've brought you dinner!" Crowley said while Grim was cheering for food. Crowley led us to the kitchen and we started eating while I saw Crowley putting some groceries away in the fridge "Oh! Would you look at that, the fridge still works But I casted a spell to keep the groceries fresh on the safe side" Crowley said
After we finished eating, Crowley told us we get some rest for tomorrow, we agreed before we left, Crowley gave me a bag of clothes, I thanked him and went upstairs to go to bed
I found a bedroom that we can sleep and the room doesn't look bad, if I clean it up, it'll look nice. I changed into my pjs that Crowley gave me and headed to bed with Grim who curled into a ball which I find cute 'I wish I have a photo of him' I got into bed and fell asleep
