(Y/N)'s allowed to see how well her vocal cords have healed.
(Y/N)'s POV:
The week finally passed so I could go to the doctor to test and see how my vocal cords healed.
Andy drove me, as the gentleman he is.
"Everything will fine darling, don't worry," Andy said kissing my hand.
I just smiled and kind of side hugged him.
We arrived at the doctor office and headed in.
I checked in and waited.
My leg kept bouncing as my nerves were starting to get to me.
"You'll be fine darling," Andy said giving my hand a reassuring squeeze.
"(Y/N) Gibb you are next," Nurse Michelle called.
Me and Andy got up and headed back.
"How are you feeling today (Y/N)?" Michelle asked as we walked.
I shook my hand side to side, meaning eh.
"Feeling so-so? Well we will have Dr. Ross check them cords so you can talk again," Michelle said smiling.
Andy kept giving my hand a squeeze which was reassuring.
We got to the exam room and Michelle took my vitals.
"Alrighty Mrs. Gibb, oxygen is 98%. Blood pressure is 126/80. Throat looks clear," Michelle making notes in my chart.
I just smiled because just in case I wasn't completely healed, any voice strain could set me back.
"I will let Dr. Ross know you are ready," Michelle said leaving the room.
"Your vitals are good darling. That's great darling," Andy said reassuring.
We shortly heard a knock and Dr. Ross soon came in.
"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Gibb. How are you, wait don't answer yet," Dr. Ross said.
I couldn't help but laugh.
Oopsies.
"She's been really good with vocal rest Dr. Ross. She's been using pen and paper to communicate so I am hoping she's healed," Andy said.
"(Y/N) please open your mouth please, " Dr. Ross said.
I opened my mouth as wide as I could and Dr. Ross took a look.
"No more redness. Your tongue swelling has come down," Dr. Ross said.
"She's been drinking lots of warm tea and soups doc," Andy said.
"Ok (Y/N) the moment you have been waiting for: go ahead and try and speak," Dr. Ross instructed me.
"Mhmmm hello?" I spoke with a bit of cracks in my voice.
"Keep going (Y/N)," Dr. Ross said.
"I love flowers. I love tea," I spoke clearly.
"Darling you are sounding so beautiful! Keep going!" Andy said.
"I think you can get off vocal rest (Y/N)," Dr. Ross said.
"I'm so happy right now to hear that Dr. Ross. Thank you," I told him.
"I've missed your voice darling," Andy said.
"I've missed my voice too. This has been a crazy ride," I said still with some voice cracks.
"Your voice won't be completely the same for a couple of days till you've warmed up them vocal cords," Dr. Ross told me.
"That's good to know. Should I keep drinking tea?" I asked Dr. Ross.
"Yes keep the same rountine and add back your normal routine prior to vocal loss," Dr. Ross told me.
"I'll make sure she's in line Dr," Andy told me.
This was such a hectic time. First off, how do I tell them still I am not from this era? Could the vocal loss be because of my time? Is this a signal that my time is done here?
"You are free to leave (Y/N). Congratulations on your voice coming back," Dr. Ross said us walking out.
"You are back darling better then ever," Andy said kissing my temple.
I was still uneasy after today.
