Maya's POV
I slowly carried out of my window and down my fire escape and started walking to the park. Once I got to the park, I heard a twig snap and I turned around to see what it is.
"Boo!" I jumped while laughter was heard. I placed my hand on my beating heart.
"You fucking bitch! I almost had an heart attack!" I said and they continued laughing.
"Fine I'm leaving then." I said and began walking away but they pulled me back by the arm.
"Ok I'm sorry for scaring you and laughing." They said as I crossed my arms over my chest. They pouted
"Don't be mad at me." They begged and I just continued standing there. They smirked before moving closer to me.
"Come on Maya.., you can't be mad at me forever." They said moving even closer, so close that we were face to face. I looked into their eyes and their smirk widen. I blushed and looked away. They gently grabbed my chin and turned my head towards them and kissed me. My eyes fluttered shut as I kissed back. They pulled away and my eyes were still closed
"I didn't know I was that good of a kisser." They said teasing me and I opened my eyes and smacked their arm.
"Shut up Ranger Roy." I said and he laughed, pulling me into him by my waist.
"You know you liked that kiss since you agreed to meet me here late at night." He said and I rolled my eyes smiling.
"Shut up and kiss me again Huckleberry." I said and he didn't hesitate to kiss me again. I'm going to start thinking about myself and that starts today. I have to tell Riley and fast because I don't think I can stay away from Liam..
Riley's POV
I was sitting in my room, bored out of my mind. It's been a couple of weeks since dad's lesson on feelings and the group barely hangs out anymore. I mean I haven't seen Maya in a few days, I feel like she's purposely ignoring me. Every time I text her to hang out or do homework, she claims she's busy. And when I ask her busy doing what, she leaves me on read. I got out of my thoughts when said person climbed through the window.
"Peaches! I haven't seen you in forever!" I said running over to hug her.
"I know it's been a couple of days hasn't it?" She said not hugging me but patting my back. I just brushed it off
"Yea so what do you wanna do today? Maybe we can call the group to hang out today." I suggested
"Riley we need to talk." She said all of sudden
"Talk about what?" I asked her with a tilt of my head
"I like someone." She said making me smiled really big
"I've been waiting for this day! Whose the lucky guy? Is he the reason we haven't been hanging out because if so I'm totally okay with that!" I said excitedly but all of that faded away once she said
"Liam.. I like Liam.." I looked at her with disbelief.
"Liam as in the Liam from our group??" I asked hoping there was another Liam at school but unfortunately, she nodded.
"I like him for a while but I didn't say anything because you liked him.." she said.
"Why are you telling me this?" I asked in a kind of tone in my voice.
"The girl that Liam likes.. it's me." She told me and my heart dropped. Liam likes her..? I glared at her.
"You're lying!! I don't believe you! He would never like a good like you." I sneered at her and she narrowed her eyes at me.
"What do you mean a girl like me?" She questioned and I smiled at her mockingly.
"A girl from a broken home.. where none of her parents love or acknowledge her. That's the kind of girl you are." I said and she glared at me 10x harder.
"At least I'm not a naive little girl who thinks everything is rainbows and unicorns. At least I'm not a girl who makes an absolute fool out of herself everywhere she goes. At least I can say that people actually like me instead of faking it. I mean don't you wonder why no one from the group has been inviting you anywhere? All of those times I said I was busy? I was with them, we just didn't want to invite you. Suck to you doesn't it?" She said lying a bit but I didn't know that she just wanted to hit me where it hurts. I started tearing up as she continued
"You see, I've spent 10 fucking long years pleasing you and making sure you were happy! Not once did I ever think of myself but that ends today! I thought you would be happy for me!" She yelled.
"I liked him first Maya! Why would I be happy for you?! You stole him from me!!" I shouted
"I can't steal something you never had! It's not my fault he never liked you in the first place!!" Maya shouted back, throwing me off.
" what?" I said softly
"That's right! He never liked you in the first place! Sorry not sorry." She said shrugging and I slapped her. She held her cheek before slapping me back. That's why the fight broke out. We were on the floor, pulling hair when Maya threw a punch, making let go of her hair and she was on top of me. That's when Dad walked in with mom and they separated us.
"What the hell is going on here?!" Mom yelled and Maya pushed dad's arms off her, wiping her nose that was bleeding from when I elbowed her. I knew I looked worse than her but I wasn't gonna mind that.
"She slapped me and I thought that I was gonna let her get away with it." Maya said glaring at me.
"Living room. Now. Topanga call the rest of the kids. We're putting an end to all of this now." Dad said
Deja's POV
When I walked into the Matthews' apartment, I didn't think I would see Maya and Riley covered in bruises and blood.
"The fuck happened to you two? Did someone jump you guys? Do I need to kick some ass?" I asked making everyone else laugh since I was the last one to arrive. But Cory and Topanga didn't find anything funny.
"No Deja, those two were fighting each other." He said shocking me.
"Them two? Fought? Who won?" I asked making Cory and Topanga glare at me.
"Deja!" They exclaimed and I raised my hands in surrender.
"Damn.. tough crowd. Okay run me through what happened." I said and they both started talking at the same time.
"One at a fucking time. I can't understand shit." I said
"Language." Liam said and I rolled my eyes
"There's no way, you see who I live with." I said pointing at Mich and my dad.
"Hey!" They said in offense and I waved them off.
"Maya stole Liam from me!" Riley yelled and I walked over to her and patted her head.
"Riles I'm sorry but she really didn't...Liam never liked you.. he thought he did but all along it was Maya. You can't really get mad at her for that." I said and she moved away from me.
"If she was a real friend, then she would've never liked Liam in the first place." She said making everyone roll their eyes
"Riley, Maya has to be the realest friend you ever had because if it was me, I would've been dated Liam. Maya gives up her happiness for you and you didn't do shit for her. If Mich liked Lucas for example right and I liked him but he liked her, I would be happy for Mich because Lucas would've liked her and not me. I can't blame either of them because of what they are feeling. I wouldn't blame Mich because I can't stop her from liking who she likes. I mean look at this handsome face." I said grabbing Lucas' face making him laugh while the rest just shook this heads at me.
"But Maya didn't try once to take to "steal" him away from you when you were liking him in all of 7th grade. She stepped back for you but Liam doesn't like you.. and you can't force him to like you. Maybe you should try and see where she was coming from and step in her shoes. Ima give you another example. Say, Lucas never liked me when we met him in the train. Say he liked you and you liked him but I liked him. And. I got mad at you for liking him, when I know myself that he doesn't like me. I would have to step back and look at the situation in a third person's prospective or your shoes. It wouldn't have been your fault that Lucas would've liked you or that you like him. It just happened. That's actually what happened with Maya and Liam. They didn't mean for it to happen.. it just did." I said with a shrug
"Riley what I'm about to say may seem harsh but you're not a baby anymore. You're not Auggie, you're about to be in high school. It's time to grow up, until of staying in a mindset of a little girl. Your mom and dad won't be able to hold your hand through everything anymore. You'll have to start acting like a young adult, which means maybe not acting out like you did with Maya or thinking about other people's feelings instead of your own." I said, staring her down, noticing that she was tearing up.
"Riles.. if you stay like this, I mean this in the nicest way possible but the world will chew you up. You can't go out there with weak skin. And you can't go out alone.. you'll need your friends the most, to be there with you to face the world. You don't want to go into the world alone.. trust me.. I know the feeling. At the age of 5, I had to face the world the hardest way possible.." I said and everyone who knew what I was about to say tried to stop me but I lifted my hand to stop them. Maya and Riley looked confused.
"My dad started abusing me at the age of 5.." I said making them gasp
"I didn't have anyone to save me or help me. No one cared at all. I mean my own mother knew and didn't stop him. Then he was arrested and placed in prison for life. I was little happy but my mom still didn't care so I was alone. Then people were bullying me and would try to jump everyday. And then I fought back and I had to fight every single day. Once again, no one cared. Not one teacher. And then a girl that I fought got so badly injured that the school couldn't ignore it. They called my mom and told her what was happening and then I moved her. I thought the cycle was going to continue until I met you two. Yea we had some bumpy rides and add a few people into the family but I wouldn't change anything that happened for the world because it made me who I am today." I gave them a soft smile.
"Don't lose each other over a boy. It's not worth it. Would you rather a hard life alone or a hard life with people by your side forever? Riley, Maya was your first friend ever.. not many have friendships that last more than middle school or high school. I would like to say we would all became friends in middle school and stay friends until we're old and gray. You'll find someone you'll treat you like a Princess. It's just Liam wasn't your prince.. okay?" I said and she nodded with tears running down her face and tackled Maya in a hug as they both cried, apologizing to each other. Dad and Cory placed a hand on my shoulders.
"Nice work Dee. You sure you don't want to become a teacher?" Cory asked and I thought for a second.
"I guess I wouldn't mind educating a few rascals for a check." I said shrugging making them laugh.
"Who knew Deja could be some inspirating?" Liam asked and Mich smacked him upside the head.
"What is up with you people smacking my head? I'm going to have brain damage." He says and Farkle snorts.
"You can't get something you already have." He said making Liam's jaw dropped as we all laughed. Riley pulled away from Maya before they tackled me into a hug, crying on me.
"Um why are y'all crying on my new jacket? This cost about $10 at Walmart. Shits expensive." I said making them laugh as they pulled away.
"We're sorry, we haven't been the best of friends." Maya said and I nodded
"Just the worst." I said making them smack my arms.
"You're not suppose to agree." Riley says and I shrugged.
"Well you were but the fights are what makes us stronger. So it's okay, just know I'll kick y'all asses." I said and they nodded before going to tackle Mich in a hug and apologized to her. Maya then looked over at Liam who looked at her as well before going over and kissed him.
"Ewww" Mich and I said and Riley looked a bit bothered but didn't say anything about it. I knew Maya and Riley aren't all okay with each other because things were said.. hurtful things. I mean what else would cause them to fight like that? Maybe we'll all have a break from the drama but with this group, you'll never know.
Liam's POV
After everything had happened, I walked Maya home and helped her clean up. Maya's mom had a talk with her about fight and scaring her like that.
"I'm sorry you had to see that." She said as we walked into her room and sat down on her bed.
"No it's fine. I mean she was worried about you and I was too." I said and she grabbed my hand.
"I'm fine, Riley just said somethings that triggered me you know? And they were pretty hurtful things so I clapped back at her and it made her slap me. So I slapped her back and we ended up fighting on the floor and that's when Matthews came in and separated us." She explained
"I'm glad you weren't hurt too badly.." I told her and she smiled
"I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself Cowboy." She said teasingly and I just playfully rolled my eyes at her. I cleared my throat, getting her attention.
"Maya.. since we like each other, I feel the need to be honest with you.. I want to tell you the reason why I moved to New York." I said and she shook her head.
"Liam you don't have to tell me, it's-" I cut her off
"No, I want to tell you.. I have IED.. Intermitted Explosive Disorder...
I can get triggered really easily. That's why I kind of blew up on you at time in class. In Texas, I would get into a lot of fights because of it. Or I would be getting into trouble with teachers. So my dad moved us here, I've gotten better with controlling my anger since Lucas and Deja started helping me once they found out. I just didn't want people to judge me because of it. And just think I'm a hot head off the bat. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner." I said and she squeezed my hand she was still holding.
"Liam it's okay. I don't see you any different than Liam Carter, Ranger Roy. The boy I like.. nothing is going to change the way I feel about you. I'm glad you trusted me enough to tell me." She said and I smiled at her before pecking her lips.
"You're amazing, you know that?" I asked and she flipped her hair over her shoulder and looked back at me.
"Oh stop it." She said making me laugh and she join in. We just spent the rest of the day, just getting to know each other better before actually date. Yea we kiss and stuff but we're just talking right now. And we're the happiest we've ever been in a long time. And I have her to thank for that.

Hey guys! It's Thursday! Hope you guys enjoyed the chapter, comment what you liked about it. I may or may not updated next Thursday since it's Thanksgiving. I was going to update on Wednesday instead but it's my birthday that day so I don't know yet. Maya and Liam are talking/dating, causing her and Riley to fight.
