she smiles as you get congratulated by everyone. it's one of the most surreal experiences of your life. you walk up a nearby diner and the word had clearly already spread because you and maggie were still getting congratulated.

you all laugh and finish up your dinner. it's staring to get late so you all walk back to the beach. you're on payton's back taking photos of him to snap back to people.

he rubs his thumb on your thigh. you put your phone back in your pocket as you approach the tents that are being taken down. you take a photo with the men who put the whole thing together before you take your trophies. you drop yours at your house and maggie actually takes hers home. her and her mom have been getting along since they went to see their dad. she's started spending nights at home. you're so happy for her. you're sitting on your bed waiting for amber to come around with her car so we can all go on a drive in her convertible. payton's lying on your bed on his phone. you duck under it and lay on his chest. he puts down his phone and rubs your back.

you stand up and start walking towards your door when payton grabs your shoulder spinning you around for a kiss. you hold his face as your kiss gets more intense. your stomach is full of butterflies. his hair is so soft. the honk goes again. you pull away and smile.

you jump in the back and sit in the middle between maggie and payton. you connect your phone to aux and drive along beach roads. you're hand in hand with payton singing every word to love songs. maggie is standing on her seat holding on to bryce's chair letting her hair flowing in the wind. you stand up with her and smell the beach. you see the the trees and people out with their families and friends. the world seems yours. no one is living this life. it's yours. and you're so grateful for everyone you're surrounded by. you reach up for your phone to change the song when time stops. amber screams. you feel a tug at your hand. less for a tug and more of a jerk. you fly out of your seat crashing through the front windshield.
