"No way, it can't be the Controller, how could he know that I'm alive," I say, realizing I was talking to myself.
I am sure I didn't appear in any of the videos that were taken, and I am sure none of the 5 guys I fought clearly saw my face. The last thing I need is someone knowing what I can do.
"It must be something else," I say, trying to convince myself. My heart is beating a lot faster now, and the palm of my hands are sweating.
I look around to see if anyone is watching me but I find nothing. I start trying to get myself calm by taking slow and steady breaths. If the Controller were ever to find out about me, my mother wouldn't be safe.
I don't want my mother to suffer because of me, but I might just be jumping to conclusions. I should really stop pinning everything that happens to me on the Controller, but I can't help myself.
I can't help but look around as I walk to biology class, I don't even know what I'm looking for. I am hoping something will come up that will explain what was written on the note.
I get no such luck, I reach biology class and everybody is getting sitted. Miss Park is sitted waiting for us to settle down. She greets and starts teaching. What if it really is the Controller? What if I have put my mother in trouble?
Biology is going on but I can't hear a word the teacher is saying. I can see that her mouth is moving and I can hear the voice of my teacher, but it all sounds like something that is distant and slowly fading.
It is all clouded by my deep thoughts, I'm just stressing whilst I'm not even sure. Miss Park has noticed that I am not in this world today. She can see me sitting there looking outside the window and she can tell that something is wrong with me.
The bell rings, breaking my train of thoughts, I leave biology class. I would normally go to the cafeteria to grab something to eat but I don't feel like it.
I find an empty table to sit on, I don't take anything to eat in the cafeteria but I just sit down. I look around and I honestly do not know what I'm looking for.
I'm now alone, school is boring without Josh. I'm bored and have no-one to talk to, besides Sarah.
My school is divided, in the first tables you will find the football players and cheerleaders.
You'll find the nerds in the following desks, followed by the geeks. You'll find the normal kids who are really best described as normal.
The are goths goths in the next tables, not forgetting kids who are good at being bad and are responsible for the smuggling and selling of drugs in our school. Then you'll find me the outsider, sitting alone deep into thought. That's how school is for me, but I'm glad to be back.
Everybody is talking about what happened between Chase the football player and the quiet kid. They just keep looking at me, I can feel all those eyes on me.
I go to the toilets, no-one but me and a group of people standing from afar are in the corridors. I enter the toilets and the group follows me in.
Unaware, I open the tap and dip down to wash my face, when I get back up I see them in the mirror. My eyes shoot up and my heart starts racing. I turn aound to see Chase and his group.
"Oh, it's just you," I say, as I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding.
"What do you mean it's just us, who were you expecting?"
"No-one you just startled me."
"We're here to settle the score," Chase says, driving his fist into his open hand.
"Please leave me alone, I'm not in the mood."
They start coming closer and I back up, each step they take forward, I take two steps back. I run out of room, and I am now up against the wall as they come even closer. They put me in a semi circle with them infront and the wall behind me.
"It's time to get your face rearranged," Chase says.
"6 against one, that's fair enough," I say sarcastically.
Chase throws a fist at my face but I duck and he hits the wall. He shakes his hand in pain whilst blowing it. I choose the smallest of the group and push him down to create room for escape. I run for the door as the boy I pushed hits the floor with his back.
When I open the door, a foot closes it from behind me. I turn and get a punch on the face, but I don't know which direction it came from. I jump on top of the first person I see when I open my eyes. When on top of him, I punch him twice and stand up.
I look around to see the boy I pushed and Chase coming at me from behind. I run to them and do a backflip whilst kicking Chase on the chin.
"I never thought of adding a kick to a flip before," I say as I kick the smallest of the pack in the face and turn around to deal with the other four.
I jump knee first into the stomach of the dark guy of the four left standing. He falls to the ground clutching his stomach in pain.
The tallest of the group swings for my head but I catch the fist. I hit the guy in the face three times, I let go if the guy's hand, spin and kick him in the abdomen.
The two left standing start trying to hit me, I block all the attacks with ease. They look at each other and look back at me, they now do punch combos.
I dodge and block all the attacks,"Now it's my turn," I say.
I kick one repeatedly on his legs until he falls and balances with his hands. I use him as a stepping stool, I jump up and land a punch straight on the nose from above on the one left standing.
I kneel down on one knee and grab the one I used as a stepping stool by the hair whilst he is trying to stand up. I lift his head by pulling up his hair to make sure he looks at me straight in the face.
"I didn't want to do this to you, but you come after me again, I will hurt you, badly." The words coming out more violent than I expected.
I leave the toilets, with all of them lieing down of the floor. I know that no-one is going to hear about this, because I just gave them a beating to remember.
They wouldn't go around talking about how 6 of them got beat by one nerd. I am still hoping that no teacher hears about the earlier collision with Chase and I.
I've never felt more alive, maybe it's the adrenal. I really enjoyed what I just did, I enjoyed it. Should I be so happy about beating up a couple of boys, what scares me the most is that I enjoyed every second of it.
I enjoyed inflicting pain on them, what sadistic person am I becoming. I know I shouldn't have fought with them, but they gave me no choice. Still, I shouldn't have enjoyed it this much.

School is out and I am preparing to go home. I put some books into my locker, but this time I don't find any note. I am not sure if I should be glad or worried about this fact.
I'm trying to convince myself that it wasn't the Controller but I cannot think of anyone else who would leave such a note. Especially after what happened in the police station, the cop knew me from somewhere.
What if it really was one of the Controller's men who so happened to remember me. It is the only explanation I have got and it makes so much sense.
Even if it is so, the Controller shouldn't know that I am back at school. He wouldn't know that unless he has got someone working for him inside the school. This is a wild assumption and I shake it off quickly, my teachers have always been there for me. One note and I'm already blaming them of working with a wanted criminal.
As I start leaving, I stop, I am too lazy to walk home, and I didn't bring my bike. I decide that I am going to teleport home, to save me time. I see Sarah, and wave goodbye. Sarah is still standing there, in no rush to get home.
I start walking to get away from anyone that could see me use my abilities. I hide myself in between two buildings. I teleport home straight on top of my bed, no longer needing to close my eyes to imagine a place.
I stare at the ceiling of my room, my heart still beating faster than normal. I check my phone for notifications and I don't find any but I notice that I have a message.
I open it and I totally freeze, I drop my phone on the bed and get of the bed. I step back until my back is against the wall of my room. Breathing heavily, I slide down until I'm in a sitting position.
I calm myself down and manage my breathing. I sit in the same position for a while not knowing what to do. One thing is for sure, if this guy is trying to scare me, it is working. I stay like this for a while, I hear my mother come home but I don't really care.
I decide to stand up and check the number that sent the message. I struggle trying to stand up, whilst my feet are numb. As I walk, it feels like a thousand ants are travelling beneath my feet. It stops soon after I take my 4th step.
I throw myself back on the bed and I check my phone. I see the number and decide to call it, I know it is a crazy idea but I want to do it. I call the number but the phone doesn't ring, all I hear is a lady say, "The number you have dialed does not exist."
"How, how does he know? How does he know I'm alive? It just doesn't make any sense."
