"I don't think that's gonna work." the voice of Y/n said crossing her arms.
"It will sweet cheeks just watch and learn." Richie winked at her turning back towards the arcade game.
A few minutes later a message appeared across the screen 'GAME OVER'
"What a piece of sh*t!" Richie scoffed hitting the machine.
"Told you it wouldn't work." Y/n said with a amused grin.
"I'd like to see you do better." Richie challenged.
"Ok, move." Y/n shoved him out of the way, entering her money into the machine.
Richie leaned against the machine smirking watching her play, the longer she played the more his face dropped.
"What are you cheating or something?" Richie said trying to hide his shock.
"What surprised I'm better than you?" she glanced at Richie "shouldn't be."
Richie rolled his eyes, after playing for another minute the screen once again flashed the 'GAME OVER'
"Ha told you I was better than you." Richie cheered.
"You sure about that, trashmouth?" She pointed towards the screen.
Richie looked at the screen seeing in fact she had beat his score.
"No...no its rigged." Richie grabbed the side of the machine.
"Face it I'm better than you." Y/n smirked.
Richie scoffed shaking his head denying it.
"So wanna buy the winner a slushee?" She asked wiggling her eyebrows.
"I never agreed to that." Richie said scrunching up his face.
"Please?" Y/n said giving him her best puppy dog eyes.
"You manipulative b*tch." Richie muttered walking over towards the food stand.
Y/n giggled following him, Richie order her a slushee getting one for himself too.
They started walking towards a table before a voice stopped them.
"Y/n?" The voice called out.
Both teens turned seeing some random boy, Y/n recognized him from school but didnt know his name, nor did she care.
Richie screwed up his face wondering why this boy was talking to Y/n.
"Yes?" Y/n responded also curious to why the boy was talking to them.
"Eli, from school." he said pointing to himself
"Oh, yeah." Y/n said acting like she recognized him.
Richie then grabbed her hip pulling her towards him so that her back was against his chest, Y/n leaned back resting her head on his chest
"Anyways, I was wondering if you'd like to hang out?" Eli said not getting the hint.
"Uhh......I don't know." Y/n said hesitating "I'm very busy this summer y'know?"
"Yeah, yeah I get it maybe some other time," he paused "actually the 4th of July parade will be here soon so if you wanted we could go there?"
"Umm..." Y/n paused trying to figure out how to end the conversation "well...I-"
"Do you not like the 4th of July?" He said seeing her hesitation "we could totally ditch and go somewhere else."
"What? No, I like 4th of July it's just-" She started
"Just go away, f*ckface." Richie cut her off glaring at the boy.
The boy stuttered for a second with a shocked expression before running off.
Y/n tried to hold in her laugh but failed.
"Oh Gosh, that was so awkward." she said turning so her face was in Richies chest.
"I know, aren't you glad your knight in shining armor was there to protect you?" Richie smirked.
"Please Richie you just scared the poor boy so bad he's gonna cry to his mommy about it later." she paused looking at him " sounds like Eddie."
Seeing as her answer didn't please Richie, she scoffed than spoke again.
"How could I ever repay you?" she said sarcastically.
"Well funny you ask, I think you should give me your slushee." he said ignoring her tone.
Y/n glanced at her hands where she held the cold cup and then to his where his cup sat.
"You have your own doofus." she said, taking a sip from her cup.
"Fine then you should.......kiss me." Richie said smirking at her.
"Alright." Y/n sighed shrugging.
"What? Really?" Richie asked shocked she agreed to it.
"You got the boy to go away, kissing you can't be worse than that." she said shrugging.
"Okay!" Richie cheered leaning in.
Y/n stopped him pushing his face away.
"Could we go outside or something?" she glanced around "I'd prefer not to kiss you in a arcade filled with people."
"Alright." Richie grabbed her wrist pulling her to the door.
He opened the door looking around making sure the boy was completely gone and pulled her out dragging her to the side of the building, Y/n laughed as they walked.
Once they got there Richie turned looking down at Y/n.
"Is this better?" he said practically whispering.
"Yeah, it is." Y/n said coping his tone.
Richie nodded and leaned in kissing her it didn't last to long before Y/n pulled away.
"Is it everything you hoped and dreamed it would be?" Y/n laughed.
"Better." Richie said not yet opening his eyes.
Y/n blushed glad he wasn't looking at her.
"I think I should kiss you again." Richie stated looking at her again.
"Why would you do that?" She asked.
"Because I saved you from that weird boy, f*ckface" he said as if it were his name.
"I just kissed you for that."
"Yeah but it should deserve two." he held up two fingers.
"That doesn't make any logical-" she started to ramble.
Richie leaned down kissing her again wrapping his arms around her waist in the process, Y/n out of reflex wrapped her arms around his neck.
This kiss being longer than the other, when they pulled away they were breathless still in each others arms.
"Wow." Richie smiled at her.
"Wow, indeed." Y/n whispered tucking her blushing face in his neck.
