{ Your POV }
It was 6am the next day and I was already up staring at the ceiling. I was just thinking about nothing. My mind was literally blank. I heard a knock at the door and the door opened quietly. I knew who it was. I could notice her scent and small footsteps from miles away
"You're already up?" She whispered
"Nope. I'm just acting like I'm awake" I said and she giggled a little
"So cute" I mumbled to myself
"Aww thank you"
I turned my head to her and she was smiling. She had a bag in her hands and a few flowers were peeking out
"You heard that?"
"Do I need to remind you that I am literally blind but can hear very well?" She asked me
"Right. I forgot" I said
Silence took over us until I spoke up
"See you wouldn't have been able to keep your promise"
"I'm sorry-"
"No no don't be. Just next time you know who to listen to" I said and she nodded her head
"Aye aye sir" she said
I raised my eyebrows and she blushed which made me laugh. I couldn't laugh for long though because it started stinging in my stomach making me wince
"Hey are you okay?" She dropped her bag and quickly walked over to me
"I'm fine I'm fine" I said as I held my stomach
"Let me see" she said and gently took my hands away
She carefully pulled my t-shirt up and looked at the big wound. Then she walked to her bag again and pulled out some tissues before coming to me again. Ariana cleaned up a little blood that was around my wound making me wince a little. She looked up at me with those beautiful big brown eyes
I placed my hand on her cheek, looked at her lips for a split second before looking back up into her eyes. I could feel her light breath on my face. I slowly leaned in until I noticed what I was doing. I quickly wiped under her eyes with my thumb
"There was some of your eye makeup" I said
"I'm not wearing any makeup today" she said quietly
"Oh uhm well there was something. I don't really know what" I said
She just nodded her head and went back to cleaning up around my stomach
She was really beautiful even without any make-up
After a minute or so she was done and pulled my t-shirt down again
"Done" she said and threw the tissues into the trash can
"Thank you" I smiled
"Of course" she said and kissed my cheek
"Oh I got something for you" she said and got her bag
"I know you probably don't like flowers but I got you some so the room doesn't look too dark and lonely even though you probably like it that way-" I cut her rambling off by grabbing the flowers and putting them in a vase
"I love flowers" I said which made her smile
"I also got you your favorite book in case you get bored and I got some fresh water. I know you won't get any new water till 8am and it doesn't even taste good here so-"
"Babe, stop stressing so much. Everything is fine thank you" I smiled which made her blush
"And thank you for remembering my favorite book and my favorite water brand" I chuckled and she smiled
"Of course of course"
"How's Zayn?" I asked and I watched as her whole face dropped
"He's fine. He was there yesterday after I came back from you. But he only stayed the night and I had to leave him this morning" she said
I looked at her face for a couple seconds. I know she missed him
"You should go to him" I said and she looked confused at me
"What do you mean?" She asked
"Go back home. Spend some time with him"
"No no. I want to be here with you" she said
"AG, he's your boyfriend. He misses you. He needs your love and attention. I'm like in between you both. I'm pretty sure yesterday it was pretty awkward between you two-"
"It wasn't" Ariana was quick to say something
"Ariana" I raised my eyebrows
"Okay yes, it was a little awkward"
"That's because you don't spend enough time with him"
"No it's not-"
"Ariana" I said sternly and she nodded her head
"I'm okay. Go spend time with your boyfriend. Zayn is an amazing guy. He just needs love" I said meaning it
She looked into my eyes to see if I meant it. I nodded my head and she sighed
"I don't wanna leave you alone Y/n" she said
"I'm not alone. Now go" I said and she nodded her head
"I'll be back later" she said and hugged me
"Yeah bye"
I knew she wasn't going to come again. I just sighed and tried to sleep. After an hour of trying I finally fell asleep. The day passed by and after all my controls were done I took another nap again. When I woke up it was night. Ariana didn't come anymore
I grabbed my phone but there weren't any notifications. Not even Ariana telling me she wasn't coming anymore. I decided to watch some netflix on my phone until I fell asleep
The next morning I woke up at 8am. No messages. I just shrugged and looked around. Hours passed. A nurse came to check on me a few times. It was around 4pm when I received a message from Ariana
Ariana🥸: Hey I'm so sorry I couldn't make it anymore
Me: It's okay
Ariana🥸: Noo, I feel so bad
Ariana🥸: Ugh I'm sorry :(
Me: Well then u should've come lol
Me: I hope u had fun tho :)
Ariana🥸: I actually did
Ariana🥸: Thank you tho
Me: Course
Ariana🥸: :))
Ariana🥸: Okay I'll let you rest now
Ariana🥸: I'll be there tomorrow
Me: Alr
Ariana🥸: Byee love u lots
Me: Lyt bye
I put my phone down and watched some TV. After a few minutes I fell asleep and didn't wake up for the next three hours. At 7pm a nurse came into my room and woke me
"How are you feeling?" She asked me
"Tired" I said
"I'm sorry for waking you up but I have to check on you" she said
"Oh I don't mean physically. I mean mentally but it's whatever. I'm feeling fine"
She gave me a small smile
"How's your wound?" She asked
"It's better. It hurts but it's better" I said
"Lemme change the bandages" she said and I nodded my head
She took the bandage off and that didn't hurt but when she put a new one on that burned like a bitch. I winced in pain and she looked up at me
"I'm sorry I know it hurts but it's important. Just a few more seconds" she said and put her attention back on my wound
I shut my eyes tightly and after a few seconds she was done
"Okay let me check ur pulse" she said
After ten minutes she was done with everything, wished me a good night and left. It was a night before new years. I was spending new years alone in a hospital
A few days later
I was still in the hospital. I was starting to like it here. I was starting to feel at home here
I know people would think I'm crazy. The hospital was the only place where people cared for me. They would check on me every now and then. They didn't forget about me. And my roommate was very nice too. He didn't get annoying and he wouldn't talk too much. He gave me the space I needed but if I got too bored we would play some games or talk about football or basketball so
He was in the hospital because he got in a car accident. A drunk driver crashed into him after new years and he flew through the windshield. He was lucky as fuck to be alive still. His arms and legs were broken. He had a big ass wound on his forehead and then of course he had some other big wounds
Oh and his name was Pete. Yes the Pete Davidson. Ariana's ex fiance
He was with a nurse right now so I was alone reading a book
I looked at my phone. No new message from Ariana. She didn't show up yet nor did she text me
"Hello sexy chick. I'm back" Pete said as he came into our room, the nurse was pushing his wheelchair into the room
"Hey idiot" I said and he rolled his eyes playfully
"Okay you two I'll come in a few hours again to check on you" the nurse said after she helped him into his bed
"I hate it here" he groaned making me chuckle
"Why?" I asked
"I want to go home and fuck my girlfriend" he groaned and I shook my head
"I'm kidding. I don't care about the sex" I smiled
In the few days that I've known him I have noticed that people judge him too fast. He's a good guy. He has a strange sense of humor but he has such a good soul. You can talk about everything with him. He even knows about my situation with Ariana and he was supportive even though she's his ex
"What are you thinking about again?" He said
"About how amazing you are" I said
"Sureee. You're thinking about her again, aren't you?" He asked and I shrugged
"I don't wanna talk about her. She's probably having sex with Zayn right now"
A few days later
{ Ariana's pov }
"Hey Ari. We need to talk" Zayn said
We sat down on my bed and he looked at me
"Hey. What's wrong?" I asked
"I think we should break up" he sighed
"What, why?"
"I thought you noticed. We have been so distant with each other" he said
"What do you mean? We've been spending everyday together" I said
"Ariana we have been together. But you're somewhere else. Your thoughts are somewhere else. I know that" he said
"What do you mean?"
"Ariana you've been thinking about Y/n. I know you didn't cheat on me with her but I know that you like her. I don't want to hold you back anymore. Our bodies are close but our souls are far away from each other. I think we both were a distraction for each other. Do you agree with me?" He asked
He was right
"Yeah. You're right. There was no love between us" I said and he nodded his head
"Ariana you're an amazing human. You're so sweet, kind and everything. You're everything someone could ask for. But we're not meant for each other" he told me and I smiled
"Thank you Zayn"
He smiled at me
"Don't thank me Ari. We can stay friends if it's okay with you. I wouldn't want to lose you completely" he said and I smiled at him while I nodded my head
"Of course Zayn. Thank you for everything. You've always been there for me to wipe my tears away when I was alone. And thank you for pushing everything aside every time I needed you" I said remembering all the good things he did for me
"Of course Ari. I love you but not romantically" he said
"I feel the same way Zayn" I said
"I'm gonna leave now okay? And if you need someone you know what to do" he said and stood up
I nodded my head and stood up as well
"Can I ask you something?" I asked
"Of course. Anything" he said and I smiled
"Did you cheat on me?"
"Never," he shook his head "I've been distant, yes but I never did anything with other girls" he said
"Thank you" I smiled
I drank a coffee while he smoked and we talked. After five minutes he left
I looked at my phone and saw that it was 5pm so I decided to go visit Y/n. I drove to the hospital and knocked on her room door. I opened it and was surprised when I saw Pete laying in a bed and Y/n not being there
"Oh uhm sorry. I think I'm in the wrong room" I said and was about to leave
"You're not in the wrong room. Y/n got out of the hospital three days ago. I thought you knew"
I felt like a fucking idiot
"I actually didn't. Thanks for telling me"
"No problem Ari" he said
"What are you doing here? What happened?"
"Car accident" he said and I nodded my head
"Get well soon" I said and he smiled
"I'll leave now" I said and he nodded his head
"Wait before you leave" I looked confused at him
"She's not at home. She was here with her brother Liam. They left thirty minutes ago. She told me they were going to Liam's friend" Pete said
"Oh okay thank you. Bye and get well soon" I said
"Thank you. Bye Ariana and drive safe" he said and I nodded my head
"I will thanks"
"Don't forget to put your glasses on" he said
"Thank you Pete. I hope you recover quickly" I said and finally left
