As morning came to light you wake up to see Gabriel and a doctor talking. You try to listen in but your brain was still asleep, not allowing you to hear a thing. You struggled to sit up but before you can, Mr. Updyke pushed you down softly
"The doctor said you can't get up yet..."
You felt a bit light headed as his soft voice reassures you that you will be okay. God you wished he would talk to you forever but good things must come to an end and he turns back to the doctor.
"Doctor, will they be able to get out soon?"
"I am not sure Mr. Updyke, they do not seem to have only have a fractured spine. And a twisted arm. The arm will heal easily but the spine might have a permanent impact."
"Great... how much will it cost to get them fixed?"
The doctor tilts his head "Sir, you can't simply 'Fix' someone... They have to have time to heal..."
"Great... Gosh humans are complicated."
You sigh knowing that you may never recover from your crash. You look up at your savior and begin to cry.
"I-I'm so sorry... I-I was stupid and i s-should have seen them coming and-" you are cut off
"No, it is not your fault. It is that douchebag that was a fool's fault. They should never of harmed a beauti- I mean... kind person."
You didn't understand what he was about to say as he cut himself off. Tears started to form in your eyes and fall onto the sheets of the clean white bed. The man wiped away your tears with a smile
"You will be alright, I promise"
"P-Promise?"
"Yes, I promise... I will be my absolute best to help you heal."
"Thank you Mr. Updyke..."
