Sana's POV
"Let's go out, my treat," I said.
"You don't need to pay me back," She answered, making me roll my eyes at her.
"Then think of it as a date," I told her.
"N-No, that would be more awkward. Plus, I have work," She responded.
"It doesn't have to be today. Are you free tomorrow?" I asked her.
"I'll be busy tomorrow," She answered.
"Why is that?" I asked her again.
"Church," She simply answered and walked away, exiting my room.
How can she be so busy yet free at the same time?
I followed her to the kitchen to see loads of food prepared.
"Sana, you're awake. Dahyun prepared breakfast earlier. Come join us," Mom said with a smile on her face.
"You made those?" I asked Dahyun who also sat with them.
"I live alone, Sana-chan. Of course I know," She answered.
Sana-chan?
I sat down beside her.
"They know the news about us, they just don't mention it," She said.
No wonder she calls me that in front of them.
I sighed and started eating.
"Slow down, Sana. We still have to talk about something," Dad said, I nodded as a response and eventually slowed down.
"Dahyun, this is so good. Where did you learn to cook?" Mom asked Dahyun.
"All from experience, ma'am," She answered and took a bite.
"What course did you take?" Dad then asked.
They seemed convinced about me and Dahyun.
I remained silent, listening to them.
"MBBS, sir," Dahyun answered, making Dad's eyes widen.
"So you're going to be a doctor? Like Mina?" He asked, Dahyun nodded.
"We're in the same class," She answered and stood up because she was finished eating.
"The maids can wash that for you," Dad said, making Dahyun shake her head.
"I work part time at a restaurant, sir. I can wash dishes," She said and went to wash her dishes.
"I like her for you already, she's hardworking," Mom whispered while my dad slightly nodded, agreeing with my mom.
My eyes widened as I flared at them, telling them to keep quiet because Dahyun might hear.
They actually don't hate her.
What a good actress Dahyun can be.
I finished eating and also stood up.
"We have to talk Dahyun," I said.
"I have to go home now, I still have work," She responded.
"Then give me your number," I ordered her, holding my phone.
She quickly got my phone and typed her number and gave my phone back.
"Thank you," I said as she walked out of the room.
Finally, I won't act like a fool anymore when someone asks me about her.
"You're leaving already, Dahyun?" My mom asked.
"Yes, ma'am. I still have work today. I'll visit again someday," She answered and gave my mom a smile.
This is like the first time I saw her actually smile.
And it's somehow melting my heart.
Shit.
Even her smile is just like Dianne's.
"Is that the case? Then do a great job at work. Visit us soon, okay?" Mom requested.
Is mom really like this?
"I will, ma'am. I have to go now," She responded and left.
"She's a nice girl, Sana. I'd rather have her as your girlfriend than any other person," Mom said and gave me a pat on the shoulder, making me feel awkward.
How will I tell them that the two of us aren't really dating?
We went back to the kitchen.
"Where's Dahyun?" Dad asked.
"She left for work already," Mom answered.
"Mom, dad. A-About Dahyun and I," I said, getting their attention as they looked at me.
"Go on Sana, have you two got into a fight already?" Dad asked me as I quickly shook my head.
"It's just that, you're already so close to her," I said, making the two of them chuckle.
"Dahyun helped you last night. I was already fine with you sleeping at Mina's, but your mom here, she's too protective," He said.
"I'm just worried, Sana might get hurt," Mom responded.
"Whatever you say, go on with your day now, I'll also head to work," Dad said and stood up.
As far as I know, the business was doing fine. Dad doesn't get enough rest.
"Mom, when is dad's your next day off?" I asked.
"I don't really know. I mean, we own the business, but your father. He's afraid of losing it," Mom answered and went out of the room as well.
And here I am, left alone again. But it's fine. It helps me think properly.
Dad is afraid of losing the business. He managed to give me a great life. But I hated him.
I hated him for loving me.
And now I feel bad.
The day passed with just me, with only myself, just like a regular day without Dianne to pick me up.
Without Dianne.
It's been weeks since I lost her.
It's been weeks since she left me.
Since I woke up.
Now, as the moon had already risen, I looked at it through the window in my room.
I guess this is the only way for us to be together.
Look at the moon like how we used to always do.
Even if you're not here by my side.
The moon and the stars of the night sky made me feel like you are here.
Then I remembered that I was supposed to be asking Dahyun about her schedule so I looked for her in my contacts.
But I was surprised to see the name that she typed in.
I chuckled, she's cute. But the face she used, it scares me.
Is she on her period or something?
She wouldn't resist my charms.
Why do I suddenly hear her voice through her message? Is this a talent now?
Oh, I meant to say profile picture, but I'm sure that she'll get it.
Did she just say goodnight?
"It's fine enough for a good sleep for tonight." I thought to myself, finally turning off my phone to sleep.
But can I still sleep after that?
